- President Obama made a surprise visit to the historic Varsity diner in Georgia on Tuesday, treating his staff to chili dogs for lunch, and taking photos with excited diner cashiers and cooks, as well as patrons, including an Air Force ROTC cadet.

That his response to someone feeling unwell was to check on them and even personally make sure they don' t fall over. That he would wait in the rain just to make sure his staff that were coming along could be under his umbrella with him. As well as the fact that he didn't have staff members regularly quitting and writing books about his corruption, or going to jail for fraud, etc is a statement for his character. Could it have all been some deception? Sure. But if it was a deception, it's a deception he was able to keep up for his entire life. From being a student to a civil rights attorney, to a professor, to a senator, and finally to president. If he was honestly able to keep up a deception for that long then you need to start considering that maybe it isn't a deception.

That soldier showed his military discipline, and stood in attention the moment he saw the president - his commander-in-chief. Obama put him at ease. The personal touch was when the president himself asked the photo to be taken with the soldier!! I am sure that soldier will cherish that photo.
Can you imagine at the Air Force base he's stationed and having that picture hanging and everybody asked him about it and where he was at when it happened? If some don't believe him, they can watch the video.
He’s the Commander in Chief! More importantly, he’s a caring and loving man.
And it's natural. Not fake or false. Mixing with the public Secret Service in obvious proximity. Was anyone pushed/shoved/cleared from coming into contact? The buzz and excitement. The smiles and laughter. President Obama a REAL true gentleman. Class, style and distinction.👏♥️

I'm German and I'm old enough to remember all US presidents from Richard Nixon to this - whatever you want to call it - in the White House now. Republican presidents are usually not very popular over here. We love Democratic presidents and I'm not only speaking for myself when I say, President Obama is our favourite US president. He's more like a pop star. If you ever had the chance to watch vids of his visit to Germany, you'll know what I mean. When George W. Bush was president, they had to clear the streets, because they didn't want him to see people protesting his politics. The "Lone Oranger" would be even less welcome over here.

That includes Republicans (Bush Sr., specifically, visited The Varsity). In fact, EVERY modern president does stuff like this. You just don't see it because you don't go looking for it.
I'm not trying to rain on your parade or say Obama is a bad guy or anything, but it's totally false to say that no Republican president, nor any president other than Obama, ever did this sort of thing.
That is not true. Barack Obama is certainly one of the classiest and friendliest presidents in recent memory but nearly every president has done promotional things like this including George W. Bush and other republicans.
