Made the swap to the IFS2 on my Trailrunner about a week ago and have been loving it so far. My rig has a bit of weight to it so to keep that clearance high in the front I actually combined the OG stock shocks and the shocks that came with the IFS2, essentially adding the spring and ring from the stock system to the new shock. It's a little bit tighter than I was hoping for but puts it in a really good place and helps get every bit of clearance I can get out of it, though I may try a softer outer spring from another set of shocks just to see what happens.
That's a pretty neat setup. Your findings do highlight the weakness of since the coilover goes through the upper control arm for better packaging, it does limit your bore size when looking for shock options
Keep up the good work man gotta hear it from some one love seeing new builds someone else’s perspective I appreciate the ones that enjoy showing that 💯✅
I added this to my Trailrunner and took it further by putting the stock shocks and steering links to the new version. Way better! You have to swap out the shock shafts and pistons as well as shorten the links but the extra effort is way worth it. Now it’s as it should have been!
That's a great idea. I thought about doing this but my stock shocks need a rebuild and I haven't gotten around to this yet. Kinda thought that since I paid for the SE shocks, I'd get some use our of them
It does come with a little grease but I put more in it. It's easy to get into. You have to flip the gear around to get it to turn in the direction of stock
I know this is old. I just getting start in this due real stuff coasting alot, mainly my 2 year old go with me yet. But its funny how gen1 based on toyota ifs that blew balljoints out with wheel leaving the truck. All because of incorrect oriantion for load carry. It's ironic how this gen 2 is correct oriantation for truck ifs.

I have been thinking about changing over my Ecto to the IFS2 system. Your video has been the best one about the IFS2 so far.
Oh thank you! I had fun making it. It did pleasantly surprise me the benefits over the ifs1 system

I really feel like making the video is part of the hobby! Also I helps me remember what certain builds were like!!

Do you have a video of the results?
How hard would it be to put dat on an scx10 ii.....is there some kit dat helps it fit on?
I don't know....... people have done it with the last version. I wonder if it fits the c channel frame.
Do you need to put grease to it? How dificult that will be?

Any videos that shows how to open I do not want to remove unecesary screws
@mauriciodelvalle4648 I forgot who did it but there was a guy who reviewed it who opened it up. Also it's not too many screws

This is one of my favorite videos! It's not too old haha. But yes it's strange how it's just like the old Tundra and 4Runner recalls back in the day
Where did you get the light buckets?
An old file set from knight customs, I got them before he pulled it from the stores
@@caseys_cozy_garagehello, I want buy a 3d file, so there is no more 3d parts to print? I want the rear bumper

Does it come pre build ???
It comes sort of half assembled. It looks built in the box bit you have to take it slightly apart to install it
