Fun fact is that once you find one of those two islands on your save, you can write somewhere their co-ordinates like for example: 722 m south from the Radio Tower. Once they respawn they always will be in the same position and you can swim there whenever you want and as many times as you want if you know the co-ordinates 😁👍

@@Crab_k1ng if you encounter one of these islands, go to your receiver and look at the distance to other major islands. If you want to return, manuever your raft so the coordinates align again

​@@P4PLAVE once you find them input one of the story locations, then write down (and take a picture of it ) that it says for example 267 units and the blue dot is in the bottom left
Next time you can go to that location and it will still be there

I found both, but ive only found the boat wreck island once and it was a fluke. I almost passed it but saw the "help" flag out of the corner of my eye.
I found the plane crash island like...50 times. I started just throwing the plane hat away.

Yeah, the captain's island looks unique, where the plane crash one, from a distance, would possible look like a few of the others and I think would probably be easily dismissed.

my latest playthrough had the most incredible luck, because I found the shipwreck island, got on it, ran around, saw that behind that island there was another island just barely visible and swam onto there and that turned out to be the planewreck island. just within a few swim strokes of each other, it was incredible. I wonder what the chances of that are

I ran into two boat islands almost one after the other. I was actually trying to get the achievement and after the visit to the first I just sailed away and found the other about ten minutes later, I almost missed it because of a storm that barely allowed me to see the help flag

I got the boat island without knowing about it. Had no idea until i got the hat and achievement. Pretty happy about it. It was super early too. No story islands and had barely gotten a sail paddle and anchor. Surprised its so rare

That's crazy... I got the game only two days ago and this plane island was the first island 🏝 I found. I didn't think nothing of it. 2% chance ?!! Guess I got super insane lucky if this is true. @@Rain_Skye I've heard that, as long as you dont build the radio, you only get small islands, which increases your chance on finding the rare islands.
I think Imma start a new world and just float around like an idiot without the radio xD
