I have the exact same clock and although people think it will irritate them chiming every 15 min after a while you zone it out and then you think "is it working" so you have to then listen for it to check 😂
My nan had a very similar model but it was made of black Bakelite material rather than wood, probably a little later model but it was in old photos from the early 50s so from then, at least. My mum has it now but just has it for display as that one ticks too loudly for her liking. I have Nan’s other old clock which is an 1875 Vienna Regulator wall clock made by Gustav Becker. It has two weights that hang down behind the glass door and you wind them up towards the clock face and as they descend to the bottom you know it’s time to wind them back up again. One weight ‘powers’ the clock mechanism and the other the chime to strike once on the half hour or appropriately on whichever hour. 12:30, 1:00 and 1:30 requires a visual check of, course, if you haven’t kept up. The clock was originally in an old manor house in Lancashire and a friend of my great grandmother was head housekeeper there and it was gifted to her on her retirement but she either didn’t like it or it stopped working and when my nan and great gran were visiting her in the fifties she gave it to my nan as she really liked it. They wrapped it in blankets and she carried it back to Sussex on the train. It was nerve-wracking for me shipping it to Canada but it made it mostly unscathed - the eagle ornament on top came detached but glued back on okay.
Wow my nan had one of those. Another brilliant video. Thanks for sharing this

Did you just make this video, bud? Also, where did you do it?
Hey, it was made a week ago, at my parents house
