Thanks so much for your video! I’ve literally re-threaded my bottom looper 10 times. The definition of insanity!!! Of course it didn’t work. Then when I heard you say there’s a specific order it all came back to me. I did it in the order of your suggestion and I’m back up and running. Thank you. The machine almost went out the window 😂
As a serger user for the last 20+ years (a White Speedylock 1500 that's still going strong), I can't thank you enough for this video. I had my serger up and running again in no time, all by myself!! A++
I was having so much trouble with my serger and cannot for the life of me figure out why I was threading incorrectly. I saw this video and change my needles and started over again and everything is good!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
I am so in love with you two. I re-needled and re-threaded, replaced two spools of thread, threaded my machine in order.... works like a top. My loops were sticking under my pressure foot and I could not sew a thing. I am again in business!!! Thank you!
Omg you are awesome..using my husband's tablet,,lol. Picked up a white superlock 534 at a yardsale for an unbelievable price.. you walked me thru Introduction,,threading,,took a while as I have essential tremors,,,took me forever to do th 2nd bottom..lol I'll be referring to this series often....
Gentlemen, Thank you for your help and saving the afternoon! Three hours of fighting with that serger and we are now back into a successful 4H project. We look forward to learning more from your posted videos!
Thank you. After a day of a nightmare of re-threading without success, I watched only the first minute of your video, and bought new needles. My serger works again. Maybe I will watch it to the end next time :)
Really, thanks so much!! It was making too much noise and not sewing, so I changed the needles as you said and it really solved the problem just by doing that🎉 Thank you, thank you!!
Thanks for all the information on serger troubleshooting. I saved hundreds of dollars purchasing a Juki serger(Japanese version of a Bernina serger); and it's been working like a dream until I broke and had to replace the lower looper needle. I hope your advice will help my skipped stitching issue.
Thanks for this, I was just about to throw my serger and after watching your video which dealt with the issues I was having I am going to start over tomorrow and clean and retread. 🥰
Thank you so much. This was so helpful. I just get a privileg 4000 Serger, which looks identical to yours, but it came without manual. So now I know the right way to thread it. I will definetly watch your other videos.
Thank you so much! I bought used mylock 334D and wasn't sure if timing belt was off, it was skipping stitches. Now thanks to your advice, I love how it works and whispers... It is my 4th serger but my favorite, even Husqwarna is not comparable! Thanks!
Can you show a repair on a tension disk on a Bernette 43D serger? It turns but just does not change tension. So glad to see the videos you have offered - just found them today!
Thank you so much for your videos. I have a White Sure Lock 228. I love it when it's working but frustrated when it has a problem. Your videos addressed most of the problems I've had. Looking forward to knowing what to do to correct those problems ... and hopefully having many fewer problems. Thank you again!
Thank you so much for the good old common sense. I am currently fighting with my serger whose stitch is terrible; adjusting the dials does not seem to help, so I am rethreading it and changing the needles.
Very good video series and great advice. I've "ground-up" adjusted more than Craiglist serger that I really didn't need to all because I was using inappropriate (read: super cheap) needles.
Thanks for the video. I'm glad that someone actually has my exact serger. Mine didn't start skipping stitches until I changed the needle. I may need to go and buy another style needle.
Dave Grohl teaches us about how annoying overlockers can be hehe 😂 I’m so fed up, I have two with the same problem now and It’s driving me up the wall 🤪
Great information and easy to understand. I recently bought a USED White 734D Superlock and the door beneath and forward of the needle plate is stuck closed. The release lever will not move enough to allow the door to open. I've removed the side plate and don't see anything obvious to my "untrained" eye. Does anyone have a suggestion before I take it to a repair service?
Oh my gosh, just stumbled across your video. Thank you I have Elena 792 always breaking the needle thread, it wasn’t until you said about the. needles I clicked I have the wrong ones. So thank you.
Thank you Fellas for you help! I will give these helpful tips a try. I am having trouble with my serger it will won’t stay threaded while sewing. Any suggestions?
I just inherited a 503 serger from my M.I.L so this is really helping me get started. it is intimidating . I also downloaded the manual and I cant seem to find the needle size listed anywhere. I am only on page 19. would it be listed on the machine ?
do you have trouble shutting video of singer serger stylist tm ll model 14j250. because instruction manual does not have any thing about trouble shutting. will appreciate if you can help. thanx you guys really explain well..
Hello! your videos are great!!!! I have a Singer 14 U32A and I am having a problem with the needle hitting the left looper. Any ideas on how to fix? thank you!
one more question on the white 534...do you know if there is a shank that will work on this machine that will allow me to be able to use snap on feet? Thanks if you can give me a part number. Enjoying the videos.
Could use help on a vintage Nelco 928 Overlock machine. Timing appears to be off. Can you post a video on adjusting timing? Im very far away from the nearest repair shop. So id like to see what I can do first on my own.
My white 534 is making me crazy! It looks like its stitching correctly, but the cut edge is wildly more narrow than the MESS of loops forming a looped fringe past the cut edge! I keep trying to follow instructions about adjusting tensions but it is STILL making that HUGE overlong mass of loops extending far past the cut edge! Could it be something to do with the cutter? But then those messy lops would just be even with the cut-edge, if so..
Thank you. treaded but not working. Upper and lower looper not connecting to straight stitch. I'm going to purchase new needles based on size indicated in manual.
Hi. I am interested in purchasing an overlocker similar to this one under a different name. It is three thread abd not four, is it worth investing in. Also, would you recommend having another overlocker as a back-up? With thanks.
My White 299d was gifted to me and she cud not find the manual. How do I find out what needle to use? I'm having trouble keeping it threaded. So I want to start completely over like you suggested.
My serger was given to me. I had to change the blades, since then the top blade ( bottom edge) hits the top of the door, I've tried adjusting the blades to stop this problem. it looks like the top blade needs to be a little further back but I don't know how to do that. Thanks
How do you fix the thread not feeding through the feed dogs to make the chain and the fabric consequently won/t feed through either. I did all the checkpoints, change needles, rethread, etc. and still will not feed a chain nor feed the fabric. STUMPED please help! it is a BabyLock 5260 model
Can you show video how to properly thread it and another video if the timing is off my brother lock 526. My upper looper is in front of the needles almost touching it.
hey can u please help me with my server. i put the knife in d no. working position. to do a roll hem but when i return it to d working position its not cutting d fabric.
Hello, I have a vintage Babylock serger 5260. My needle clamp (that holds the 2 needles) is loose & is moving up & down the needle bar. I do not have a tool that fits. If I may ask, what tool can I use to tighten it? What position, on the bar, should I set it? Thank you for your time.
How do you adjust the differential feed? I do help the chain. When i place the fabric underneath it goes forward and not backwards. The machine has been barely used but mostly for narrow rolled hem. Plus i can’t adjust the nob for the pressure foot.
I bought a Singer Professional 14U13 serger, I had to move some misplaced parts, clean it and the motor is making strong noise and is very slow cuz is not rotate good I have to replace the carbons or replace the motor. Do you have any video for that specific serger? I will really appreciate if so. Thanks.
my serger profinish is tangling the chain in the loopers on startup. it started happening when I lifted the machine to clean under it. before I could have the chain hanging off the back and start some fabric and it would go thuogh without a problem. now if I don't pull the chain on start up it tangles up in the loopers and I have to re thread everything.
I have a WHITE Super Lock 734DW that will make a chain of stitches but will NOT put a single stitch in fabric! I have changed the needles, rethreaded, timing, etc. PLEASE HELP!
Hello, nice video! I have the same looking machine...only 3 threats tho... LEWENSTEIN LOCK matti M-3..i bought it second hand and im geting many loose loops in the chain... cording to this video I re-thread the threads...after that it was better but not enough... i checked the needle, it is Schmets 100..so not the one you suggested... could this be the problem or 3 threads machine is different in threading an so? Glad for any tips! Thank you!
My 4-thread serger (Singer Ultralock 14U64A) sews fine with three threads. When I try to use left needle for the straight stitch, the threads immediately start to wrap around what I think is the finger of the throat plate. (It's that needle that has its point just under the pressure foot.) I've rethreaded at least 5 times (following the manual and with a witness!), changed to new needles (the correct ones), and made sure the needles are all the way up. Still nothing but a jam within the first stitches. What could it be?
hi there i have a problem with my singer serger. my lower looper keeps touching my needles and breaking them. I took it to the shop and they didn't even touch it cause they couldn't get a new lower looper. so i came home went online and boom found a brand new lower looper and also bought a new upper looper and a new plate( it was somewhat bent) so now i replaced everything and nothing! it keeps touching the needles. i tried fixing the timing and still touches the needles no matter what! could you give me advice should i take it into a new shop? or can i still do it myself?
I have an ultralock and it has started looping the thread around the plate rather than the guide needle. I can’t find this issue anywhere. Any help you can give would be great!
I had my Brother 929d over lock for about 15 years, same stitch finger for most of that time. Then it broke, now it breaks pretty often. I have almost quit using it at all because it really gets expensive having to buy new stitch fingers. Any idea what is going on or is it cheap made part problem? Is there a video? Thanks for any advice.
Colleen Dow I had the same issue with the chaining. I removed all the thread and re-threaded the machine and that worked. My issue now is my needles keep breaking. It's hard to seat it in the hole so one is longer than the other.
Thanks for the video! Can you help me understand why my Brother 1634D Serger upper looper isn't catching my left thread needle. The thread chain is loose and left thread isn't anywhere in the thread chain. HELPPPPP!!!! PLEASEEEEE!!!!
I am having an issue with the Maxi Lock stretch thread wrapping around the underneath of the cones when I sew. do I possibly have it threaded wrong or the tension not correct?
I have a Frister Lock 3 model 2231-2 I striped it down to give it a real good clean, some how this time something is not right with the blade, as it won't cut properly it is quite a new blade so it's not aligned correctly, how should this be reset into the correct position, it has given me many many years of use, it's really driving me crazy that I can not get it right
We have a White 534 . The upper looper timing gear pr. Nr 11226 is defect. We have managed to buy a replacement but need advice about fitting it. Can anyone help .. it belonged to my motherinlaw and we want to keep it going. Do you think we can replace this ourselves. ? We live in the Netherlands. THANKYOU ANNE
Good day! I have a singer merrittlock serger 14U354B model that my mom bought off a garage sale. I've followed the steps to thread it but everytime i try to make the chain, the stitch just stays bunched up at the bottom. I looked and saw that there's a needle inserted inbetween the grooves laying down. so i'm wondering if it's normal to have that needle?
My singer serger pro finish is frustrating me!! I took off the plate to see why the needles either break or just completely unthread. The needle or needles hit a black metal piece under the foot plate. I'm assuming they should not do that! Help please 🙏 😢.

Love you guys. After half day of struggle, I saw your video, replaced my needles and...voila! Working again! Best advice ever!
Thank you so very much! It's great to see a video about the exact machine I have. Now I will know what to look for when something goes wrong!
3 days of frustration - about to give up. This video saved my serger and my sanity. Thank you so much!

Thanks to you both from one of your Aussie viewers, Cheers.
Good video. Useful, practical serger advice that will save you a trip to the shop. Thank you both.

Thanks for putting this out there. I have a few questions. Do you reply to anyones comments?
I love you guys! I've had my serger for a week and it is not feeding and cutting which causes it to bunch up and stuck. Can you help me out?

Thanks so much! Searched desperately for this video ~ South Africa
Great video. So sorry for rude people on RUclips giving you advice you did not ask for.
Here is a lesson I guess you missed, the true sign of a professional is the ability to take criticism and advice.
Learned a lot. Thank you.
Great info guys...I have a white serger which is making a loop but wont sew on material. Any suggestions?
Is there a tutorial on on changing the upper looper timing gear for this machine ? If not would it be possible for you to make one ?
Thankyou Anne

Having problems with my funlock 003 not making chains. I did chance the needle
Wonderful and helpful thank you
hi there i have a problem with my singer serger. my lower looper keeps touching my needles and breaking them.
I would wonder if your needle is in all the way? Or is it bent?
I thought the same I checked and even put new needles but it still does the same thing. I wondering if I should toss it out.
Are you using good thread? That's the main thing. Cheap serger thread is not worth it.
I have an ultralock and it has started looping the thread around the plate rather than the guide needle. I can’t find this issue anywhere. Any help you can give would be great!

That was helpful, but what if it doesn't make chain at all
Fecking legends .....ok ok let me try out yah tips!
Hi! Love your videos. I have an issue on bunching. I have rethreaded soooo many times and it keeps doing this :(.
That is usually wrong tension; possibly too tight upper looper. Can be the feed dogs, if it is a differential feed, move the settings to loosen.
The problem I have was not addressed. I need to know how to disengage cutting blade
Hello! Thank you for the video. What if a serger doesn't chain? I have a Singer Pro stilist
I have the same problem; did you get an answer?
Colleen Dow I had the same issue with the chaining. I removed all the thread and re-threaded the machine and that worked. My issue now is my needles keep breaking. It's hard to seat it in the hole so one is longer than the other.
You really saved me!!! Thank you!
Do you have advice for a seized machine? The needle won't raise to the highest position.
I have a Frister Lock 3 model 2231-2 I striped it down to give it a real good clean, some how this time something is not right with the blade, as it won't cut properly it is quite a new blade so it's not aligned correctly, how should this be reset into the correct position, it has given me many many years of use, it's really driving me crazy that I can not get it right
My serger is making a loud sound after a bad thread jam that I had a hard time removing. I wonder if something is a bit out of alignment now:(
We have a White 534 .
Thank you My angles don't help me to tell you what I need but I love you
Brilliant! Thank you gentlemen.
My singer serger pro finish is frustrating me!! I took off the plate to see why the needles either break or just completely unthread. The needle or needles hit a black metal piece under the foot plate. I'm assuming they should not do that! Help please 🙏 😢.
Hi there...what's the problem of overlock machine if it's stop sometimes.
My right needle hit the lower looper after breaking both needles at the same time. How should I adjust my looper? Up down or sideways? Same serger.
Can Bryan Show haw to change the belt on this white serger?
