saddly, Zero's true nemesis was his inability to let it go, he survived his encounter with Brock and instead of turning over a new leaf, he became consumed by his need to prove something to nobody who would care.
This is true of so many characters in the series. How many of them lack the separation of work and life that Red Death manages? How many of them could go off and live as normal people entirely out of this system and be generally happy except for the fact that they would be bored to tears not fulfilling their compulsions?

ah 21 can and unlike 1 he also fought sampson multiple times even captured him a few times (with alot of good henchmen dying in the process of course, rip speedy) and the last major fight he had with sampson he gained his respect because he both got some solid hits on him and even took him to the ground and then proceeded to not die but team up with him

The wrong people being able to make a proven connection between the two would be utterly disastrous for not just him but his cohorts and his/their loved ones (like, say, if someone found his contingency plans he has to neutralize fellow Justice Leaguers and retooled them into outright attempted assassinations by using details of their secret identities to get the most optimal drop on them with said plans).

Henchman Zero always had the most confusing motivations. If he referred to himself as an avenging henchman, why was he getting henchmen to kill themselves? What was the goal?
Well he obviously want revenge against 21 because he and 24 abandoned him while making a mockery of his professionalism. I'd imagine this expanded towards other sidekicks and henchmen.

I love how they wanted to bring this character back more than they did, but Chris McCulloch was hesitant because in order to do the voice, he had to choke himself with one hand. You really hear it in the first appearance
That probably would have been the route I'd go for. Zero holding a grudge on 21. Zero also being the one behind the death of 24 mainly due to trying to kill both of them. It would have been a dramatic build up to a final showdown between 21 and Zero. Especially, given the arc Gary went through in the last season.
For someone who almost only has the character trait of, "such a know-it-all that they're a prick," Zero's firearm training was shotty at best holding the gun that close to *Brock Samson* and those in the same cell as him.
One thing alot wont notice is that he is the same in real life as he was in the show. nobody when thinking of the Venture Brothers will think about how cool Henchman 1 was, or at all. Only when given example of his existence will we be like "oh yeah". Same for the characters in the show.
I like to think he was also thinking of Speedy and 24 talking about “This is for all Henchmen” he would more then certainly have more hate being a former henchmen of one of the groups Brock possibly has the biggest count for.
Fun fact, Mr.White is using a Trident which wwas the weapon of choice for the Retiarus A class of light armored gladiators, who were popularly considered cowardly and effeminate because of their preference for defensive fast skirmish fighting rather than fighting "properly"
On paper, Henchman 1/Zero is more awesome than Henchman 21/Gary. Yet Samson remembers the latter and the latter actually gave him a half-decent fight. Zero never once game Brock a challenge.

I finally figured out Zero's deal. He's the perfect henchman, accomplishing his villainous boss' plans but still will always job against the heroes. 21 and 24 are the perfect sidekicks, perfect support to their boss in all things. The problem is there can only be one sidekick so 24 had to go.
I'm convinced that "do I know you" is Brock's ultimate test of a hench's mettle. Zero failed hard lmao
