@@joshuawilliams8252 And yet Action Man in his prime could've taken down Brock Samson. Hell, even old Colonel Gentlemen could've tussled with Brock. But no, they feel the need to make Hatred mediocre.
15:52 Brock can play it off all he wants but I genuinely believe that Brock clapped his cheeks at least once. As an experiment, at least. He did kinda imply that he had a tryst with the redheaded guy who was guarding the president, that one time.
See, to me the small gag at 9:00 is why Venture brothers is such a great show and Shore Leave one of the best gay characters in media. In any other show, Shore leave being the flamboyant gay token character, the joke would've been played much more straight (heh): the moment Shore says "that's not my gun", the guard would've panic because in the assumption that he's not gay, that is a fearful situation to be in, the joke is "haha, the gay man will fuck the hetero in the ass". However, instead, Shore leave then pulls his gun and says "that is my gun" in a threatening tone. Because he's not only gay, but also an OSI agent, and one of the most efficient ones on top of that. He's a guy that fights along Brock Samson and coronel Gathers, two characters most people would define as the embodiment of masculinity, yet neither of them ever makes fun of Shore Leave beyond friendly banter and aknowledge his loyalty as a friend and professionality as a secret agent above everything else. And that recognition is shown through many other interactions, like the shooting competition with S. Hatred, how the twins admire him or any other situation where we see him carry his duties as a secret agent smoothly. In any other show, this would've been a gay joke because haha gay people fuck each other n the ass. In Venture brothers, this is a character joke that works because he's Shore Leave and not any other gay. And I love every second he's on screen because of it. I really hope he shows up again in the movie.
"SCOPE?! Pansy, I've got a bead on you and chubbs over there. I can't believe you need a scope." I love that Shore Leave is actually super capable, Ray from Archer is such a stereotypical trainwreck by comparison.

Would’ve liked to have seen 24 interact with Shoreleave . Shoreleave’s interactions with 21 are priceless and hilarious
Like you never notice bc he's on-screen with brock a lot but GODDAMN Shorleave is fucking massive
Shore Leave: * gets wind of a level 10 arching coming Brock's way * "I need to warn him!"
Also Shore Leave: "....buuuuut, I still have time to run down some googly eyes and stick them on my chin, first, sooooo......."
I have never watched Venture Brothers a day in my life, but I've watched about six of these compilations now
It's even better in context. Keep in mind this is a minor character, that works for a crossdresser that works a guy who hulks out. And these guys are so bad assed that Brock Samson looks up to them. And then you go ba k and find little hidden gems kinda like rewatching the infinity saga.
I love how a very sassy gay character isn't treated as pathetic. Like he's the kind of sassy gay character that people wanna be cuz of how cool he is. (Thats me Im the gay guy who wants to be shoreleave)
Lol
The part when they start praying has me stitches every time.
4:19 The face off limits this is wat brings all the boys to the yard
Bruh, Every time I Brock says something all I hear is Mr. Barkin from Kim possible
Same VA
Gonna be honest, Shore leave and quite frankly most if not all of the side characters of the venture bros need their own shows.
The best moment was in the movie, talking about Red Death. "He scares the crap out of me."
2:40 still one of Shore Leave's most badass moments.
Body like Arnold, and a Denzel face. But when he opens his mouth, a purse falls out. ❤
Shore Leave is easily the coolest gay character that has ever been
Shore leave is a treasure.
shore leave is my fucking hero.
like, be gay. You can be a tough gay man.
shore leave is supposed to be a stereotype of the navy and you can’t convince me otherwise.
Love how shore leaves favorite move is diving across the room
If you’re gonna be a badass, you might as well look fabulous doing so!
Did anyone else notice that Shore Leave is wearing what the Sphinx version of Destro wore?
"Paper beats rock!"
"No it doesn't, rock beats everything. Why would you even play paper? It's stupid. You should play rock, it's the best one."
I'm gonna use this some time.
This must be their way of paying homage to Freddie Mercury. The amped up version One of my favorite characters on Venture. Brothers.
Never thought about that. Visually they did have that quick shot of Mr. Fahrenheit, the supersonic man, in the diner when Red Death and his crew were talking about kidnapping Jonas Sr. He was dressed like Freddie at Wembley with the white pants and yellow jacket.
@@supertrooper84 Complicated, nuance stories and dialogue. Endless numbers of Pop references. I hope HBO Max picks this up.
“You wanna fight me for my Golden Fleece you fucking hydra” 🤣
"we're going to CBGB's"
I'm dead lol
He’s got more personality than anyone.
I hate how mediocre they made Hatred. Dude was high up in OSI AND has super soldier serum running through him.
That happens to all the super soldiers though. That and serious psychological issues. Look at Action Man.
@@joshuawilliams8252 And yet Action Man in his prime could've taken down Brock Samson. Hell, even old Colonel Gentlemen could've tussled with Brock. But no, they feel the need to make Hatred mediocre.
"want to fight me for my golden fleece you fuckin' hydra?"
That's gotta sting.
took me 5 seasons before I realised its 'shore leave' not 'shirley' (cmon, it's entirely believable that his name is shirley)
Surely you can't be serious.
Personally I heard “Shorley but yeah
Don’t worry, my mistake is much dumber. I thought his name was “Sure-leave”
Like “yeah sure, leave”
@@doctorquack-pot4214
Lol
I take it the salior hat and anchor tattooed on his chest left no clues
when he calls rend mantle and dragoon a fucking hydra i lost it
I love the symbolism of the very last scene.
15:52
Brock can play it off all he wants but I genuinely believe that Brock clapped his cheeks at least once. As an experiment, at least.
He did kinda imply that he had a tryst with the redheaded guy who was guarding the president, that one time.
Shore leave looks good in that swimming leotard, ngl
Shore Leave, a parody of Shipwreck of GI Joe, has to be one of my favorite characters.
Shore Leave meets Freddie Mercury.
My life is complete now thank you besides getting another season of this awesome show
See, to me the small gag at 9:00 is why Venture brothers is such a great show and Shore Leave one of the best gay characters in media.
I can't believe you need a scope."
I love that Shore Leave is actually super capable, Ray from Archer is such a stereotypical trainwreck by comparison.
Ray is insanely capable. The entire team is without the influence of Archer. That's the joke
Shoreleaves friendship with Gary is so wholesome.
5:47 best Shore Leave scene
Mans got talent, weapon’s expertise, and taste! Badass. Respect.
I don't think anybody bought even for a second the idea that Shore Leave and Mile High ever stopped being gay.
Chris Evans character in Grey Man is a live-action Shore Leave
Any scene Shore Leave is in is the best.
Brock, Shore Leave and Hank are like 3 brothers but Brock is the big brother who has to fill in as the father when their father dies.
