  • Iraq have only ever qualified for the FIFA World Cup once, in 1986, when the Iraqi Football Association was headed up by Uday Hussein, the son of Iraq's infamous President at that time.
    In this short documentary video, HITC Sevens takes a look back at Uday Hussein's reign of fear whilst presiding over the Iraqi FA, Olympic Committee, and national team, in addition to the Iraqi Premier League team he founded.

Please make a video talking about babyluigi95's idea on covering Guadalajara "Mexican-only" policy. (since Athletic Bilbao's basque only policy has been covered quite a bit) Think it would make for an interesting video.

    • @henzohewson
      @henzohewson 4 месяца назад

      The thing is Saddam was constantly fearful of being overthrown, so whilst he was brutal it was mostly calculated repression and targeted against opposition to his rule. Qusay Hussein was the more sensible of the two brothers and was in line to inherit the presidency of Iraq and head of the Ba’ath Party from his father once Saddam passed, despite Qusay being the younger sibling (although this would mean that he could outlast his brother in a sense). Uday didn’t have to worry about any of that since he was so sadistic and batshit crazy that Saddam took him out of the running. Uday didn’t have to worry about any of that stuff with ruling and literally gunned down his own uncle for insulting him at a party which is infamous in Iraqi history.
