ozai being so fast with his lightning is a pretty big deal, when we saw azula and iroh do it it had to kind of build up but ozai seems to be able to sent it on an instant
Azula gets trained in lightning by the grannies (ironically not fire-benders, what´s up with that). We don´t know how long Ozai trained in lightning. Azula is called a prodigy just like her grandfather Azulon by Ozai himself in the flashback. That means that Azula is either better or as good as her father when an adult and by then also can instantaneously cast lightning. Still I think it has more to do with Ozai´s attack being agressive burst to the front. And as all burst is fast, but easier countered too. I also think the caster can´t redirect it properly, While a smaller focused strike like Azula´s and Iroh can still change direction.
People forget or don't notice, but Iroh later this season says that if he dueled Ozai he isn't even sure he could win against him. Ozai is a true master of firebending
I'll never be over being robbed of seeing Iroh's escape 🥲 ....and The Earth King not telling the Aang Gang how he revealed their invasion plan to Azula and just dipped.
22:51 I’m pretty sure every reactor I’ve watched initially thinks Azula was lying when she said this to Zuko in the 2x07 flashback. Because “Azula always lies”…except for when she doesn’t. Everyone seems to take that line as gospel, like it’s a line the writers put in there to describe her character, but it isn’t. It’s just something Zuko tells himself to try and prevent her words from affecting him. But sometimes the truth suits her purposes just fine.
19:06 Toph knows Azula isn’t a 400 foot tall purple platypus bear Toph can sense when people are lying and Azula is such a good liar that to Tophs senses it felt like she was telling the truth.
hakota and the other invasion adults totally had a secret meeting and were like "so when this goes south, we get the kids out" right like you cannot convince me that tyro and the mechanist were cool with their sons going to jail. this was the plan all along if they got captured, that the adults stay behind and the kids get out. bc yeah they'll get separated again from their kids for the umpteenth time, but at least the kids will all be together and they Won't be in jail
I was so proud of Zuko in this scene, he stood up to his abuser and made Ozai know that was he was doing and has done all his life is wrong. He told him he wouldn't take his abuse anymore and that he was even going to help stop his reign of terror over everyone he's affected. And he did that on the moment his dad was wasn’t the most powerful, otherwise he would have likely attacked from the first moment rather than be confronted.
I love and am so proud of Zuko of everything he learned coming together. From understanding that he doesn't need to please or should please his father because he banished him simply for being a caring kid to having learned first hand in s2 in zuko alone how the fire nation has hurt others to learning the true history. Him realizing completely that this is not for him last episode. "During the meeting, I was the perfect prince, the son my father wanted. But I wasn't me". I can go on and on but from episode 1 has built up to this amazing moment. Of zuko finally understanding the harm of his people, understanding himself and what he needs to do to better both himself and the world.
I agree, I absolutely love Zuko & how he represents outgrowing and unlearning the toxic things that come from generations before us. He is a cycle breaker. He overcame so much peer pressure. I still get emotional watching this and it's one of my all time favorite stories.

I've seen this entire series well over a hundred times, probably closer to two hundred times by now, and I am NOT counting the many, many reactions to it that I've watched in that total. So I know exactly what happens in these two episodes. I can tell you the story from begining to end, scene by scene. If I concentrate hard enough, I can even remember and repeat most of the dialogue word for word... But yet, I STILL get an uncontrolable goofy grin on my face when all the returning characters show up. I STILL get nervous, anxious, and excited at the beginning ot the invasion. I STILL worry about Hakoda's possible death when he gets hurt. I STILL feel the pride and love in Zuko's voice and smile when he talks about how Iroh has "gotten to him". I STILL feel sadness and worry when the adults decide to stay behind and go to jail so that the kids can escape... After all this time, and after all these repeated viewings and re-viewings, I STILL feel all of that, and a lot more, because this show truly IS THAT. DAMN.GOOD!
Hey, y'all! Loving your ATLA reactions! I actually have a suggestion for another show, if y'all are amenable. Since you've reacted to ATLA, The Boys, & One Piece, I think you'll really love My Hero Academia! It's similar to The Boys in that it involves a superhuman society, just a bit more family friendly (it can still go to some pretty dark places, though). It's more Teen rated than ATLA, but it's a really fun, intriguing plot with lots of twists and turns. It's longer than ATLA, but not as long as the One Piece anime. So far, it's 7 seasons. It will likely end up being 7 or 8 seasons. I sort of disregarded it until the last 2-3 years and now I regret not being into it the whole time. The characters and world are all so interesting. HIGHLY recommend. It's the anime that got me back into anime for the first time since I was a kid.
They really could have made this show like GoT but they wanted to drop half the charm of the show for each live action adaptation. They qlways want to end season 1 with the Siege of the North when they should end it on the Blue Spirit. Then they could begin with Jong Jong and have half of season 2 be the Siege of the North.
The fact that the fire lord didn't know that Zuko can redirect lightning just means he was seriously trying to kill his own son. 😢

I STILL feel sadness and worry when the adults decide to stay behind and go to jail so that the kids can escape...
After all this time, and after all these repeated viewings and re-viewings, I STILL feel all of that, and a lot more, because this show truly IS THAT. DAMN.GOOD!
Don't be scared or nervous! It sucks that it's coming to an end, sure but it's sooo good
Oh I'm early 😅
Azusa knew lol
🎃🧡
I need you guys to finish so you can start Legend of Korra I feel like you guys would love that show its more adult then ATLA
I just love that they alluded to the game we all played as kids: the floor is lava 😂
Are you guys gonna watch legend of korra?
Cody's bloodlust for Azula never ceases to crack me up lol. He reallyyyyyyyy HATES her.
I know right 😂. She sucks so bad that he forgets she’s only a 14/15 year old girl
It was crazy when I found out that the series basically ended here and, there was nothing but beach episodes left.😂

Tell me the soldier asking Azula if they should follow, tell me that guy doesn't look like Fire? Wang Fire?? Husband of Sapphire Fire???
gonna say, Haru with facial hair is hot and was my first cartoon crush
They really could have made this show like GoT but they wanted to drop half the charm of the show for each live action adaptation.
They qlways want to end season 1 with the Siege of the North when they should end it on the Blue Spirit. Then they could begin with Jong Jong and have half of season 2 be the Siege of the North.
and dc movies in general
can you try vox machina s1 ep1
Fun Fact: The guard that brings Iroh tea is voiced by Tennis superstar Serena Williams!
would love to see you guys to react to she-ra (2018)
Death would be too kind for Azula.
