People voted for a rank based economy because it was the less worse choice (at least it seemed like that at the time). It was basically choosing between getting stabbed or shot. Even though it was supposedly a different system it didn't make any difference in the end. Lets be realistic here, regardless of what we picked we would have been screwed either way. Sidenote: The idea behind pinging bases at the start of the match is to prevent multiple bombers from all going to one base and getting effectively nothing. No clue why some people get mad from someone taking your base because usually that means there are more bombers than bases, and you gotta wait for them to respawn.

So the reason why I ping bases is more for strategizing with other bombers. If a faster boyo gets there first be my guest, but I'd rather not have 3 or 4 bombers for some reason waste their load cause they assume the base needs to be bombed after I already dropped my bombs(ive had a few to many matches like that including one where an attacker tried low altitude strafing a base after my bombs were already in transit resulting in a teamkill)
exactly, saves people wasting time. but i always watch the map, because there are many out there that just ignore the pings. i've done it too... especially when i can take out 2 bases, i'll tag the one i want and then hit the one next to it as well if i am there first.
If they would cut repair costs in half, and maybe increase payouts and give us more opportunities for boosters, the problem would pretty much be solved. I'm about an average player, and without a premium account, unless you get like 4 kills, your not going to make anything
So you want a company to give you a good experience, without you paying for their product? Premium account costs 40 bucks for a whole year when you get it at 50% sale, it's not that much money if you like the game
@@GielL96 I would have no problem paying to get the game, even at $60 I would gladly pay that. But when you have to continually pay that just to make a profit so you can advance in the tech tree and meet repair costs, eventually you're going to pay hundreds of dollars.
@@GielL96 there are far better F2P games than warthunder that actually make it fair and reasonable for F2P players. thats why WT gets shit on just like crossout. it requires too much no life'ng to invest and sooner or later you get to a point in which progressing is not feasible anymore.. premium should not be a requirement in any F2P game. unless said game has options for you to gain it for being a F2P player. at which points thats a solid monetization practise... otherwise just make the dam thing B2P. its not like they arent milking thousands of people for stupidly overpriced vehicles that are not worth 40 euro for 1 single aircraft or tank or whatever the hell it may be
i like playing bombers, because it takes less focus, something to do while watching streams etc, when you aren't in the mood to tryhard, and it's consistent rp and sl. I've done a lot of grinding of props with them. I did just pickup the 288c, but most of my grinding of bombers was done in TT planes. I don't need to play bombers for Sl, as I do own naval prems...

It takes me with rank 3 a whole day to farm 100k silver lions. Its hard when other pvp have Eye Tracker VR Headsets and a joystick with trusters and rudders. With that said here are my Tips: If u engage in a dogfight then prepare the start of the fight high altitude. So when u go for the kill u go highspeed. U have small time of window to shoot the target but if u miss keep going forward maintaining alot of speed. Then climb steady and repeat the process. If u wanna be unnoticed use mountains and forest to hide. Above the clouds they can see u from 20km far away but below 250 meter its like 5km max on flat surface. Do not do it in arcade only realistic because vision in arcade is busted. Fuel do not take more then u need. The lesser the fuel, the lighter u are and the faster u go and be more agile. If u fly a bomber then try to max altitude above 5km altitude. This way AA cant hit u and if a jet comes on your tail what rarelly happens u use machine guns while circling diving or climbing to max on shooting. Some planes u gotta circle so the turret can shoot. If u a noob then dont anger good ace fighter pilots, they most of the time up top. Go for easier targets and u can easy recognize them by the way they fly. They just charge u like a bull lol. If u have trouple just to shoot 1 plane down and its impossible. Then go for ground strikes with a fighter or strikecraft armed with bombs. Go fast, bomb the ground targets and go away. if u go low at speed of 600km u easy outrun the AA if u stay down. Hope I help someone and ask if u need more help.
i feel like the base pinging is more of a cooperative thing so that if 3 bombers are already going for the bases, the 4th one doesnt drop his bombs on a dead base and can drop them on the airfield instead
That part made absolutely no sense. There are 4 bombers in a team for (usually) 4 bases. You are not claiming for yourself the base, you indicate what you’re planning on doing.
The thing with pinging bases is that it is not about fairness but about organising. You don't play against your allied bombers you play with them so signaling what base you gonna take is a important step so no one get to waste their bombs. Saying its first arrive first served is incredibly selfish and you shouldn't be surprised if you get "fanmail" if you know that someone already pinged your base. Of course if you have bad hardware you will spawn in later and maybe not get the pings but exactly then it is important to ping because if you ping someone's base, they will probably message "no" and pingbtheir base again. Then you know that you can just take another base and if that's taken too then the process will be repeated until you choose a base that is free. In matches where there are more bombers than bases you can just sideclimb and wait until there are some bases left or the airfield is attackeble. If you can't get this simple communication done with your team then just don't expect kindness from you allies
7:46 based take. Whoever gets there first gets the base. Whenever i'm SL grinding, I'm in the wyvern bombing bases then transitioning to full fighter mode, then heading RTB to rearm for another late game base...aint got time to wait around for a bomber 7km above me to amble into position, since you can guarantee half the enemy team will be diving to the deck for the first wyvern they see.
We as players should welcome gaijin reverting new additions, we shouldn't laugh at them mockingly for doing it but encourage them for listening to community feedback.

just buy the xp-50 if you are new: -best fighter/interceptor in 4.0 (best climb rate) -insane sl modifier (450%) -great for rushing through early US air -great for learning zoom and boom, energy fighting, energy traps -makes enemy seethe -only 1600 GE (10 $) need I say more?
Down side at that tier la-5,yak-3,and bf-109s just dive to the deck because they dont know how to fight against a plane that has any kind of advantage over them an complain on reddit how it should be put to 5.3 because it has the same climb an turn speed but “air spawn op pls nerf”
Nowadays for me it's easier to farm SL, repair is no longer a problem, in Ground Battles, 4 or 5 kills is not hard to do with fast tanks with average APFSDS, I left the Russian line last, and it really is very fun and profitable to play, for me who plays aggressively / flanking, to quickly dominate the best positions, the game is a little more fun even without premium.
My code of ethics regarding base calling is order of arrival. You can see if someone's gonna make it before you, why bother then? Just wait for the next base batch lol.
I get what you said about getting better at the game, but at this point, I haven't breached BR 5.0, and for all the aircraft I have researched but not bought, I need 710,000 Silver Lions to acquire them (Spitfire Vb @ 110,000, Spitfire XVI @ 170,000, Firefly V @ 140,000, Mosquito XVIII at 140,000 and Stirling III at 150,000). I have 45,000 Silver Lions and I have no idea how I can get enough to buy them. I don't think I'm a bad player - I'm probably average, maybe even a touch above average.
For me 'pinging the map' isn't about claming bases, but to let your team know what you're going for. A way of team coordination so to say. A lot of people think that it's some kind of bro-code that if you ping the map, it's yours and no one else should go for it. Yes if you fly really close to the person that pinged a base and you bomb it anyway without letting him know, you wasted his time and probably his match so you're kind of a d*ck for doing so. But if you're in a slow bomber pinging bases and then get mad cause a frontline bomber takes your base... sigh
Yeah when it costs more to go to battle than you win. For a new player it's almost impossible. I had played for awhile but I wanted to see how it was starting back over. I did and unless you spend money which I refuse to do. Never had to before to unlock a whole tear. Now I'm at tear 4 but I can't get enough lions to buy new tanks. I'm not buying premium and I'm not buying eagles. I'll go back to my old game but good luck for new players unless you want to start spending money. You'll end up having more money in this game if you're not careful. Hell you can buy several games that you don't have to pay to be a little competitive. Getting one shotted a minute after you spawn isn't much fun and new players will just quit. They need to make battles fair and not have OP tanks when new players are playing. Why not have it so new players with crappy equipment battle. It's not much fun pumping 10 of the best armor piercing rounds into a tank and then they one shot you.
i play ground realistic mainly, and there is soft cap for rp, being 1v15 and carrying my team max give me 11-13k xp, that is too little knowing i kill 15 tanks and droping a nuke
There’s an easier way now, PvE with helicopters. Grab a help with decent AA missiles, fly up 2000m and intercept bombers and attack aircraft with missiles. Can easily get 100+ kills due to your allies focusing on ground targets. With the premium apache and account I made over 200k SL doing this so non premium you should be able to make 75-100k. (Matches usually are about 30-45min)
here after 9 years of this game and never had more than 500,000 SL in the bank. I can barely break 150,000 SL the past few weeks with multiple kills a match. I've even noticed these shitters not giving you full rewards for waiting for the match to conclude before starting a new one.
As a Ju288 DCS player, let me tell you how you played it wrong in the video. When you run to your base in the 2 circle rate fight you should never exceed more than 11.3 degrees AoA and 260 knots.
Everyone with this mentality has to realize that the goal is to keep new players interested in the game otherwise they might leave and play something else. Newer/less experience player may not be using that better boomer from a lot of reasons like: not having unlocked the better vehicles unlocked yet, not know what vehicles are better, or they don’t care about air battle and need the SL for a different part of the game. It’s a great method to unlock your CAS vehicles for ground RB while also saving up to purchase new vehicles, crews, and modules for vehicles. Yes it is true the best way to make SL is to get better at the game,but the sheer fact that players shouldn’t have to destroy two vehicles to cover the repair while everyone is still expected to save up on modules and new vehicles that with further increase the repair cost.
The new changes is sad, but on the other hand all of the new players make br 6-8 a perfect grind for ground or air rb. If I want SL I just pop the tiger 2 and grind for a few hours 30k-70k per match easy. If you lose the tank just spam bombers 😂
It is also a good idea to shoot down burning enemies or those who have already been shot off the tip of a wing or a piece of the tail. It's a guaranteed kill, you don't have to fight for it, you just get to 6 and fire a long burst!
I always see the F5C bois with a full bomb load complaining or begging to get another base drop before they die and i'm always telling them.. bro try getting better at PvP. You'll make money AND not die every game.
The thunderbolt MK.1 premium in british tree can get a base kill and go on to kill fighters with its 6 50.cals. 440% SL boost compared to the JU 288 450% and is my go to SL grinder. Bombing is to boring

So if someone pings a base and then someone else spawns, they have absolutely no ability to write in the chat "hey which bases are available" and whatnot? Bases often times aren’t available. Half the team is bombing these days depending on what BR and there’s only 4 bases. So no, pinging the map is stupid and unfair. And 73% voted for it, meaning it’s incredibly ironic how big the back lash is when this entire change was laid out for them when they voted it in. Now they’re kicking and screaming over it. Just one more additional example of an endless archive of this community being beyond brain dead.

No I don’t think the changes were good, albeit I didn’t participate in the voting, not that it’d have mattered. We want better rewards, less top tier premium spam, same standard for top tier SPAA for all nations, lower repair costs (I'm not sure about removing them, personally, I'd be fine if they drastically decreased them so they're not ridiculous), fixed weapon mechanics (spalling, hit registration, RealShatter, volumetric, etc.), less copy paste from tech tree to tech tree. I'd say these are some of the most consistent and fair complaints that people make. Although the rank-based economy was voted for by the community, I doubt that those who voted wanted vehicles to be unfoldered, repair costs to be increased even more, or rewards to be nerfed again for tech tree and premium vehicles.
we need to purge this plane from existence, the shear spam of this plane makes anything near 6.0 boring. Half of the German side will be 288's and sometimes it will be 6v6 with 4 288's on one side. heck I even had an 8v8 where both sides had 4 288's, and they don't do anything they bomb and hide in their air field AAA, sure you get that one mad lad who uses it as a gunship but they're about as rear as a Naval player who doesn't have 4000 games in the Helena or Moffit with 100 kills in each. I love super props bit it's boring and I recon some of the German fighters might be better than they seem when they're not fighting a 4v1 every round. I'd say it need to go up 2 BR's just to stop the spam, you can only have 4 bombers per match and this thing ruins it's BR harder than the Ka-50 ruins it's

I usually respect base pings but if it’s at or near top tier and an a 10 or su25 is trying to call a base while I’m in an su22 or a f4 then I just tell them to cope and seethe
i quit playing this game because i was a bomber main winning games and winning no silver lions. bombing is underpaid af. or atleast was a few months ago when i quit playing. i had the best bombing score every game and got like 2k silver lions (no premium)
Serious noob question here. Does hardware and internet dictate load in time? I always have like 200ping but always have about 10s countdown remaining before match start. I just assumed it was the same for everyone.
Yes to both of those. If your game is installed on an SSD rather than a hard drive disk, you’ll load faster. If your internet is better, you’ll load faster. WT has a pregame countdown though, for you often being 10s. Other people may load in with the full 20s count or whatever. But because of the countdown you’ll spawn at the same time usually either way
Hello, I'm a fighter wanna be chad in the 2.7 BR. My repair costs are 1,758 per aircraft. The average Silver Lions I earn per game is 150-450. I do not make profit and I am slowly running out of Silver Lions to repair with. Is there a way to play war thunder without spending money, or should I just uninstall?
Reverting the changes means nothing. Tunnan still has 17k repair, without premium you have to get 4 kill games to break even, and even with premium you need at least 2. This is fucking ridiculous, 4 kills and you are barely breaking even, and anything beyond 4 kills is not as rewarding, so to make good money on tunnan you need to get 6+ kill games. Good fucking luck. And there are plenty more planes like this, that are not worth to grind for.
@@Jdhog152 fair point, but still getting 4 kills and dying should net you at least 40k without premium, this is basically carrying the game and even if your teammates manage to throw that you still should be making mad profit. There are planes like the tunnan that can't be played to make money unless you are a god and then there are planes like the g91 r3 with 9k repair... Where is the logic in this? Not that I am complaining about the r3 it's basically almost a premium aircraft with the money it can make.
@@vincentreim8962 2? Idk never used them, but i do know that you can get 2 bases with napalm on normal maps (2 regular bombs per base). I heard the rewards are the same, so using 1800kg bombs is more time efficient

Even if i was better skilled, the grind is still slow I need way more sl than i can gain Im at br 4-5 and the aircraft are around 110 000 - 140 000 while i make 50 000 per 2 hours
The players voted for it in the first place, so of course they did. If you look at when they proposed the rank based economy last year it shows exactly what happened: planes doubling in repair cost and some getting more SL because of it. But everyone saw the B-29 getting cheaper and voted for it. Or at least 76 percent of the playerbase. Gaijin played them because they KNEW the players wouldn't read lol😊

meh air assault can be so painful, all too often you may find yourself being the only one with dbl digit kills as the match ends in less than 10 mins...
@@SKurj True, but if that happens you only lost 10 minutes, you can also usually tell if a team is going to have a shot at winning within the first two waves. You'll still get the full 300% booster even if you lose as long as you make it to about 80%. Been doing this method while playing casually for the past year and I'm sitting on about 45 million SL. All in I've been playing on/off since 2014/15, this is by far the most profitable approach I've had, also has the side effect of efficiently unlocking the German tree without really trying.

Play ground/air assault you are guaranteed booster between 15% - 300% but once a day

Have trouble with navals. Got the american premium off warbonds, but not sure I'm using it well. What's best, RB or AB? And any tip on how to play?
I played my F-89B and watched RUclips in a MiniPlayer. I’m way too comfortable in that plane.

If u engage in a dogfight then prepare the start of the fight high altitude. So when u go for the kill u go highspeed. U have small time of window to shoot the target but if u miss keep going forward maintaining alot of speed. Then climb steady and repeat the process.
If u wanna be unnoticed use mountains and forest to hide. Above the clouds they can see u from 20km far away but below 250 meter its like 5km max on flat surface. Do not do it in arcade only realistic because vision in arcade is busted.
Fuel do not take more then u need. The lesser the fuel, the lighter u are and the faster u go and be more agile.
If u fly a bomber then try to max altitude above 5km altitude. This way AA cant hit u and if a jet comes on your tail what rarelly happens u use machine guns while circling diving or climbing to max on shooting. Some planes u gotta circle so the turret can shoot.
If u a noob then dont anger good ace fighter pilots, they most of the time up top. Go for easier targets and u can easy recognize them by the way they fly. They just charge u like a bull lol.
If u have trouple just to shoot 1 plane down and its impossible. Then go for ground strikes with a fighter or strikecraft armed with bombs. Go fast, bomb the ground targets and go away. if u go low at speed of 600km u easy outrun the AA if u stay down.

i feel like the base pinging is more of a cooperative thing so that if 3 bombers are already going for the bases, the 4th one doesnt drop his bombs on a dead base and can drop them on the airfield instead

That part made absolutely no sense. There are 4 bombers in a team for (usually) 4 bases. You are not claiming for yourself the base, you indicate what you’re planning on doing.
The thing with pinging bases is that it is not about fairness but about organising. You don't play against your allied bombers you play with them so signaling what base you gonna take is a important step so no one get to waste their bombs. Saying its first arrive first served is incredibly selfish and you shouldn't be surprised if you get "fanmail" if you know that someone already pinged your base. Of course if you have bad hardware you will spawn in later and maybe not get the pings but exactly then it is important to ping because if you ping someone's base, they will probably message "no" and pingbtheir base again. Then you know that you can just take another base and if that's taken too then the process will be repeated until you choose a base that is free. In matches where there are more bombers than bases you can just sideclimb and wait until there are some bases left or the airfield is attackeble. If you can't get this simple communication done with your team then just don't expect kindness from you allies

Whenever i'm SL grinding, I'm in the wyvern bombing bases then transitioning to full fighter mode, then heading RTB to rearm for another late game base...aint got time to wait around for a bomber 7km above me to amble into position, since you can guarantee half the enemy team will be diving to the deck for the first wyvern they see.
The Playstation exclusive A-26 is a solid grinder for RP and SL as well.

Nowadays for me it's easier to farm SL, repair is no longer a problem, in Ground Battles, 4 or 5 kills is not hard to do with fast tanks with average APFSDS, I left the Russian line last, and it really is very fun and profitable to play, for me who plays aggressively / flanking, to quickly dominate the best positions, the game is a little more fun even without premium.
Play naval rank 3 if you want sl. Rank 3 gives 900% sl reward for most ships. And it's free

I get what you said about getting better at the game, but at this point, I haven't breached BR 5.0, and for all the aircraft I have researched but not bought, I need 710,000 Silver Lions to acquire them (Spitfire Vb @ 110,000, Spitfire XVI @ 170,000, Firefly V @ 140,000, Mosquito XVIII at 140,000 and Stirling III at 150,000).

For me 'pinging the map' isn't about claming bases, but to let your team know what you're going for. A way of team coordination so to say. A lot of people think that it's some kind of bro-code that if you ping the map, it's yours and no one else should go for it. Yes if you fly really close to the person that pinged a base and you bomb it anyway without letting him know, you wasted his time and probably his match so you're kind of a d*ck for doing so. But if you're in a slow bomber pinging bases and then get mad cause a frontline bomber takes your base... sigh

Yeah when it costs more to go to battle than you win. For a new player it's almost impossible. I had played for awhile but I wanted to see how it was starting back over. I did and unless you spend money which I refuse to do. Never had to before to unlock a whole tear. Now I'm at tear 4 but I can't get enough lions to buy new tanks. I'm not buying premium and I'm not buying eagles. I'll go back to my old game but good luck for new players unless you want to start spending money. You'll end up having more money in this game if you're not careful. Hell you can buy several games that you don't have to pay to be a little competitive. Getting one shotted a minute after you spawn isn't much fun and new players will just quit. They need to make battles fair and not have OP tanks when new players are playing. Why not have it so new players with crappy equipment battle. It's not much fun pumping 10 of the best armor piercing rounds into a tank and then they one shot you.
i play ground realistic mainly, and there is soft cap for rp, being 1v15 and carrying my team max give me 11-13k xp, that is too little knowing i kill 15 tanks and droping a nuke
There’s an easier way now, PvE with helicopters. Grab a help with decent AA missiles, fly up 2000m and intercept bombers and attack aircraft with missiles. Can easily get 100+ kills due to your allies focusing on ground targets. With the premium apache and account I made over 200k SL doing this so non premium you should be able to make 75-100k. (Matches usually are about 30-45min)
here after 9 years of this game and never had more than 500,000 SL in the bank.
I can barely break 150,000 SL the past few weeks with multiple kills a match.
I've even noticed these shitters not giving you full rewards for waiting for the match to conclude before starting a new one.
As a Ju288 DCS player, let me tell you how you played it wrong in the video. When you run to your base in the 2 circle rate fight you should never exceed more than 11.3 degrees AoA and 260 knots.
Everyone with this mentality has to realize that the goal is to keep new players interested in the game otherwise they might leave and play something else. Newer/less experience player may not be using that better boomer from a lot of reasons like: not having unlocked the better vehicles unlocked yet, not know what vehicles are better, or they don’t care about air battle and need the SL for a different part of the game. It’s a great method to unlock your CAS vehicles for ground RB while also saving up to purchase new vehicles, crews, and modules for vehicles. Yes it is true the best way to make SL is to get better at the game,but the sheer fact that players shouldn’t have to destroy two vehicles to cover the repair while everyone is still expected to save up on modules and new vehicles that with further increase the repair cost.

It is also a good idea to shoot down burning enemies or those who have already been shot off the tip of a wing or a piece of the tail. It's a guaranteed kill, you don't have to fight for it, you just get to 6 and fire a long burst!

The thunderbolt MK.1 premium in british tree can get a base kill and go on to kill fighters with its 6 50.cals. 440% SL boost compared to the JU 288 450% and is my go to SL grinder.

Bases often times aren’t available. Half the team is bombing these days depending on what BR and there’s only 4 bases. So no, pinging the map is stupid and unfair. And 73% voted for it, meaning it’s incredibly ironic how big the back lash is when this entire change was laid out for them when they voted it in. Now they’re kicking and screaming over it. Just one more additional example of an endless archive of this community being beyond brain dead.

We want better rewards, less top tier premium spam, same standard for top tier SPAA for all nations, lower repair costs (I'm not sure about removing them, personally, I'd be fine if they drastically decreased them so they're not ridiculous), fixed weapon mechanics (spalling, hit registration, RealShatter, volumetric, etc.), less copy paste from tech tree to tech tree. I'd say these are some of the most consistent and fair complaints that people make. Although the rank-based economy was voted for by the community, I doubt that those who voted wanted vehicles to be unfoldered, repair costs to be increased even more, or rewards to be nerfed again for tech tree and premium vehicles.

we need to purge this plane from existence, the shear spam of this plane makes anything near 6.0 boring. Half of the German side will be 288's and sometimes it will be 6v6 with 4 288's on one side. heck I even had an 8v8 where both sides had 4 288's, and they don't do anything they bomb and hide in their air field AAA, sure you get that one mad lad who uses it as a gunship but they're about as rear as a Naval player who doesn't have 4000 games in the Helena or Moffit with 100 kills in each.
I love super props bit it's boring and I recon some of the German fighters might be better than they seem when they're not fighting a 4v1 every round.
I'd say it need to go up 2 BR's just to stop the spam, you can only have 4 bombers per match and this thing ruins it's BR harder than the Ka-50 ruins it's

Yes to both of those. If your game is installed on an SSD rather than a hard drive disk, you’ll load faster. If your internet is better, you’ll load faster. WT has a pregame countdown though, for you often being 10s. Other people may load in with the full 20s count or whatever. But because of the countdown you’ll spawn at the same time usually either way

Hello, I'm a fighter wanna be chad in the 2.7 BR. My repair costs are 1,758 per aircraft. The average Silver Lions I earn per game is 150-450. I do not make profit and I am slowly running out of Silver Lions to repair with. Is there a way to play war thunder without spending money, or should I just uninstall?
Reverting the changes means nothing. Tunnan still has 17k repair, without premium you have to get 4 kill games to break even, and even with premium you need at least 2. This is fucking ridiculous, 4 kills and you are barely breaking even, and anything beyond 4 kills is not as rewarding, so to make good money on tunnan you need to get 6+ kill games. Good fucking luck. And there are plenty more planes like this, that are not worth to grind for.

There are planes like the tunnan that can't be played to make money unless you are a god and then there are planes like the g91 r3 with 9k repair... Where is the logic in this? Not that I am complaining about the r3 it's basically almost a premium aircraft with the money it can make.

If you look at when they proposed the rank based economy last year it shows exactly what happened: planes doubling in repair cost and some getting more SL because of it. But everyone saw the B-29 getting cheaper and voted for it. Or at least 76 percent of the playerbase. Gaijin played them because they KNEW the players wouldn't read lol😊

True, but if that happens you only lost 10 minutes, you can also usually tell if a team is going to have a shot at winning within the first two waves.
You'll still get the full 300% booster even if you lose as long as you make it to about 80%.
Been doing this method while playing casually for the past year and I'm sitting on about 45 million SL. All in I've been playing on/off since 2014/15, this is by far the most profitable approach I've had, also has the side effect of efficiently unlocking the German tree without really trying.
