Thank you so much for the SOUNDS. The Federal Q with Yelp is so Heart warming. I have a 71 SeaGrave with Federal Q on noise. Plus old school Federal interceptor, it has the amazing
HYPER ( Yelp) when you put controller between tones. Plus I added another Electric Siren with the 8 Different TONES. I added a small old school coaster SIREN ( the old car Burglary siren) under Dash. That way Kids can push the siren button, and the sound is just in cab. The smiles you get from kids is well worth all the work on Restoration. It's compartment are full of portable Fire Extinguisher, for display at local events. What I do now is are local Farmers market at are city owned Marina. Fun Day for kids to get in a old Fire Engine.

The revolving light bars are so nice. In the dark of night, their light penetrates really far.
I wouldn't mind the modern flash ones so much if they lights actually flashed off and on and the flashing was slower. The constant flutter is distracting rather than an attention-getter.

It's a 1975-1980 Oshkosh L-series. Oshkosh designed the truck to as short as possible so that it could more easily fit into older fire stations that wouldn't normally be tall enough for a tower/ladder truck to fit into.

I have been on the fire department for 3 years going on 4. As of August 2022, the volunteer FD that I am on is for a town with about 4,000 people in Alabama. Our oldest truck is a 1999 engine. We are trying to replace it now. However, it is still in great shape.
    *****FIRE ENGINES/TRUCKS*****
~~ENGINE 1 - 1999 - (1st truck to respond to structure fires in city limits)
    ~~TRUCK 2 - 2012 - Equipment Truck (1st truck to respond to wrecks)
    ~~ENGINE 3 - 2011 - (2nd truck to wreck, 1st truck to mutual aid structure fire/wreck)
    ~~ENGINE 4 - 2018 - TANKER (approx 4000 gallons)
    ~~TRUCK 5 - 2010 - Brush Truck
~~ TRUCK 6 - 2019 Ford F-150 (used for carrying equipment like boats, trailers)
~~ATV 1 - 2022 ranger (for medical calls in brush like 4-wheeler wrecks, and small 50 gallon tank with water)
    *****BOATS*****
~~ Marine 1 - basic boat for water rescues
    ~~ Marine 2 - inflatable rubber boat
~~ Airboat 1 - used for river rescues when the river is extremely low
    ***AIR TRAILER***
~~Air and Light Trailer 1 - used for refilling air tanks at major structure fires

Local FD (rural Wisconsin) has 2 vehicles that are more than 30 years old still in use.
My brother whose on the department drives the older engine, I dont know all details but I think it's an 78 international. It's their backup engine but still gets fair use and is like the pride of the town. Dept was going to sell it a couple years ago but towns people said they would rather pay/donate more to upgrade it than to buy a new one and that's what they did. Like I said, pride of the town.
Other older vehicle is the 89 Ford ambulance. It's not used as an ambulance itself anymore but used for towing the rescue boat for water emergency aswell as being the command post for said water emergencies
