It's crazy how the first movie had experienced people in the military to be the pilots of the gigantic robots yet somehow in the sequel, the robots were piloted by a bunch of teenagers that made it look like a cheap Power Rangers movie
It's not that crazy if you think about it. The military needed to recruit younger people to train them as early as possible so they can become ace pilots more quickly. Plus, as the dude above me mentioned, most of the older pilots are dead, so what are they supposed to do? They weren't all teens anyway.
The 3 kaiju all merged into the giant one. Remember seeing the thousands of small robots racing thru the city battle? Think of them like nano-bots. They climbed each kaiju, and sewed them all together...per se
@@SmileSpace1 Well it's kind of obvious, really. The small bots climb all over the three kaiju, they show them being merged, and then one super huge new 4th kaiju emergers from the smoke. The only reason to miss any of that is they you weren't paying attention or were just checked out by then.
We now know what happened to the other 2 Kaiju in the final battle when the little things crawled to the Kaiju, they formed them all together. It honestly just looked like they were repairing their wounds lol

I think the "big budget tv show" feel comes from the fact everything happens in daylight, while the first movie everything happens at night. Different mood. With advanced CGI no need to hide renderings with muted colors or shadows. Now everything is sharp and bright.
I can see why it felt like a big budget TV show. This movie was Steven S. DeKnight's directorial debut in feature. If you looked at his filmography before this, he actually has a pretty impressive resume but only on television. Especially since I’d seen it already so knowing before hand if she was right was so much fun!! Didn’t the last movie basically hint that Riley didn’t have long to live because operating a thing alone can give you radiation poisoning, and he and Idris were the only ones to do it for a long enough time and still be alive? And idris brought him back in like don’t you wanna die doing something good? It seemed like this movie hinted at Riley no longer being in the land of the living and that Mako was the last one from their team and family still alive, and boyegas speech at the end talking about Riley and mako like they were both dead? Also to John why mako wasn’t freaking out in the helicopter was because she was focusing on trying to send them the information she found 😂
We saw the tiny robot swarm merge the three kaiju into the giant mega kaiju. I was initially frustrated but I would forget a lot about this movie too lol😂
😮 oh yeah, this is for Roxy. So the one kid in the three men robot did die cause they needed somebody to die because that’s the hook of the story is like you have to feel sad for somebody dying but they didn’t want any characters they want to use for the next movie so he was basically a throwaway
That's most sci-fi action episodic movies now (I say episodic, because films like this always have to have a continued sequel even if it's crap, and also because writers don't know how to wrap things up into one film). And that is one of the most blatant tropes you'll see.
The only good thing about this movie is Bandai make model kits out of it, although it sad that Bandai didn't get the license from the first film because the OG Gypsy Danger, Cherno Alpha and Striker Eureka designs are cool.
I have issues with this movie. Not major ones. Obviously it's a pale follow-up to the original (but, honestly, both have some lore problems). There are still some interesting ideas at play, and all-in-all, the big combat scenes are still fun, and that's what we're here for, right?
wow, the absolute hatred these two have for each other is palpable. im not surprised greg had to breakup the fight between these two after filming this reaction.
There’s like little things throughout the movie that’s supposed to hint that Charlie’s character from the first movie died at some point between the 10 years after the war not sure how
Scrap is a slang term that means a few things. Energetic Spunky Wiley Squirrely But itvwas also used to describe a street fight; one might say they got into a "scrap.". Calling her robot Scrapper has the double meaning of made from junk and scrappy combatant.
This movie had so much potential and it just falls so flat. Like, they did a lot of stuff very right, but they did so much else so much wrong. Between killing off a main character off screen (Charlie Hunnam's character died at some point between the two) killing off another main character very anti-climactically, the weird b-movie plot line with Charlie Day, and the weird tone at the start the movie, there's just so much that doesn't really work. Also, several people already pointed it out, but the three kaiju at the end were fused together. You commented on that scene, pointing out that the damage to the kaiju was being repaired, but they were actually being cut apart and put back together. Also, yes, this movie was 100% sequel bait, the original was a cult hit, they thought this one would kick off a franchise, and it got ripped to shreds. The fandom as whole pretends this movie never happened, personally, I think it was fun but a MAJOR step down from the original.

I’m so sorry you have to experience this
The big Kaiju was a fusion of the three Kaiju
The other 2 Kaiju merged into the one, that's why they had 3 brains 🧠
The only good thing about this movie is Bandai make model kits out of it, although it sad that Bandai didn't get the license from the first film because the OG Gypsy Danger, Cherno Alpha and Striker Eureka designs are cool.
PACIFIC RIM UPRISING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
day 4 waiting for new moon 😢😂😂
The other two merged with the big one to make it bigger and used the drones to fuse them👍👍👍
Well the 3 kaiju fuze as one by the small nanobot looking things. Thats whay he had 3 brains.
Hahaha
Everything about this film felt cheaper and less authentic. Without G directing, you can see his contribution.
Del Toro's felt somehow practical. This one feels like a Transformers movie and NOE of the weight is there. It is way too floaty.
We love rony predictions! Don't let the bad comments outweigh the good 👍🏽 keep up the predictions boss 🙌🏽
the 3 kajius merged into one they didnt upgrade
I LIKED THE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There’s like little things throughout the movie that’s supposed to hint that Charlie’s character from the first movie died at some point between the 10 years after the war not sure how
No, he was retired from the animated series
The 3 kaiju merged into the one at the end
Scrap is a slang term that means a few things.
Energetic
Spunky
Wiley
Squirrely
But itvwas also used to describe a street fight; one might say they got into a "scrap.". Calling her robot Scrapper has the double meaning of made from junk and scrappy combatant.
the 3 kiju merged into 1 when the swarm came they started all merging
Burn Gorman played a doctor in Torchwood not UNIT.
