    The added lyrics to that Angels' song originally came from an audience in Mt Isa, in north-west Queensland. I think the band went along with it because...well...Mt Isa was easily the most violent town I have ever lived in!

    • @Kimmy58
      @Kimmy58 6 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I remember a news bite where Doc (RIP) said they were confused at first and thought the audience didn't like the song. He ended up wearing a shirt with that chant on it as it became the most iconic song just for the ad libs!!😂 Miss the 80s😢

    Jellyfish stingers are in the tentacles (called stingers), not the bell. This is because the jellyfish hunts by wrapping the tentacles around their prey and then dragging it into the bell.

    A fast food place i worked at used to have a group of seagulls that hung around the place. There was one particular gull that bullied the others. I'd deliberately throw chips in the drive through driveway for the bully gull then quickly throw some chips on the grass for the other gulls while the bully gull was distracted with the cars and its 'drive through' chip

    We decided to throw a chip onto the road whenever a car was approaching. A few close shaves but they all survived, dammit.

    • @daveg2104
      @daveg2104 6 месяцев назад

      By hole, they mean serious reduction in the amount of ozone in a region of the atmosphere - in this case Antarctica (so not directly over Australia, and not responsible for high temperatures). It's just chemistry. The 2023 "hole" is the largest since 1979 at 26 million square kilometers. Source - NOAA and NASA. I'll need a credible citation from you if you want to dispute that.

      @daveg2104 6 месяцев назад

      Although the hole in the ozone layer isn't responsible for the high temperatures. Ozone blocks ultraviolet (UV) light, which is more of a problem for skin cancer. Anyway, the ozone hole is more down towards Antarctica. Apparently the 2023 Antarctic ozone hole is the 12th largest since 1979, despite the restrictions on ozone destroying chemicals. Source - NOAA National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (U.S. Department of Commerce) and NASA.

      Meringue was a thing before pavlova. Who can say who actually made the first pavlova (or pavlova like) dessert. Some Australian/New Zealand research says Germany (maybe with Spanish influence) via the USA. The German-speaking Habsburgs, whose power extended over much of Europe from the 15th to 18th centuries, had a fixation for all things Spanish including "one of the most stunning cakes" called a Spanische Windtorte. It was a complicated combination of meringue, fruit and cream. Not exactly a Pavlova, but you can see how you could get to a Pavlova from there. Australia and New Zealand do seem to be the guardians of the Pavlova though. There were many different things named after Anna Pavlova back in the day, she was that famous and popular. And apparently quite good at business.

    and now for something completely different.
    here is 10 small tips to any US citizen that wants to come to Australia.
    1. leave your attitude along with your guns at the departure lounge.
    2. don't panic! it will be there waiting for you when you get back, we don't want it.
    3. you cannot buy, nor carry a gun over here, this is not the wild west as it is in the USA.
    4. enjoy the sites the food and the different cultures.
    5. Australia has a culture, they have song, dance and food and we are proud of it.
    6. The US has, Levi's jeans, McDonalds, mass shootings, guns and bombs and you are proud of it?
    7. take lots of photo's, buy the occasional souvenir.
    8. when you get back to the US "the home of the brave and the free," pick up your gun and your attitude, you will notice it is still there in tact as you left it.
    9. Show your friends the photo's and tell them you had a nice time.
    10. Oh and don't forget to tell your friends you experienced real freedom for the first time in your life not having to carry a gun!
