You would have to assume the 100% Australian beef would definitely impact flavour. Both HJ's and Macca's heavily lean on that as a selling point. It's probably more hype than reality.
Then there are the burger buns. I'm not convinced the USA understands bread products quite like the rest of the planet. 😊

Even Bunnings (hardware/home warehouse) has a play area. Every Maccas, Hungry Jacks (Burger King) etc all have play areas for kids.

Fairdinkum means "genuine". "Oh fairdinkum?" Means "For real?". "Yeah that's fairdinkum." Means "That's legit." Expressed in an exasperated tone "Aw fairdinkum, mate!" means "Get real."
Fairdinkum is realness. It's authentic. It's the genuinely article, and that is the highest Australian virtue.

You may be interested in the original meaning of dinkum ( work ) . Fair dinkum meant a fair days work for a fair days pay .

    • @DMZDMX1
      @DMZDMX1 20 дней назад

      LOL. "The original meaning"?
It is derived wholly from the Catholic Mass in Latin, which is the way it was done before the Pope of the day (second Vatican Council circa 1965) said you could recite it in your own language". The expression emerged long before the change.
"Vere dignum et justum est" (pronounced fair-ay-dig-num)
Vere dignum has a number of translations but it means in this context "It is truly right"
About 20% of the population identifies as Catholic but the proportion was higher in the past.
In the Australian everyday parlance it was reduced to "Fair dinkum mate!"
Translates roughly to "absolute truth friend" or "not a word of a lie".

Just remember that when you talk about burger king, it isn't hungry jack's. The USA with the list of nasty preservatives etc the length of your forearm that they put in their food? Half of that shit is outright illegal, and another quarter is taken out just because Australian franchisees think that crap is dumb.
Burgers are a little tricky to compare because of all the individual ingredients having gone through their own processes ...
The fries though, is super easy to compare.
McDonald's USA has a list of ingredients a page long, while most the rest of the world just has 3 or 4 ingredients.

The Bunnings sausage sizzle used to put the fried onions on top of the sausage. But after a few customers went apex over turkey in their stores from slipping on onions that had fallen out of someone else's sausage sizzle, Bunnings decided to tuck the fried onions safely under the sausage. Has no effect on the taste though.

Pumpkin patch was a child’s clothing store that had a play area for their customers to use in the store whilst they browsed and kept an eye on their own kids. It was very popular and quite expensive designer gear. They had trouble with people coming in,pretending to shop there, leaving their kids unsupervised in the play area like it was a babysitting service, whilst they went off shopping around the mall for a couple of hours. Poor kids. Poor store staff left to deal with asshole parents and abandoned children.
There was an almost daily call to cops to deal with it.
Some entitled people spoiled it for everyone else as usual…

In Australia we refer to McDonalds (Maccas) as “Chew and Spew”, and Kentucky Fried Chicken as “Dirty Bird”. Don’t get me wrong, I get a hankering for it about once a year. Once I’ve eaten it, I remember why I haven’t eaten it for 12 months. Yuk. Yet one year later, I get a yearning for a Big Mac. Rinse and repeat.
It sort of reminds me of why Starbucks failed in Australia, and why there is such a strong “coffee culture” here. There are lots of small “corner store” family businesses that can make a much better hamburger than McDonalds does. Ditto coffee. I’d prefer to patronise them. None of them will ever be recognised as an international brand name. That’s not what matters.
Strangely enough, if you go to any country town/city you will find a multitude of Chinese Restaurants. They all cook the same Chinese food dishes (say “Sweet and Sour Pork”) but they all taste different. and people have their favourite Restaurant. It’s got me beat how all these Chefs are cooking exactly the same dish, and some are magnificent, and others are shit. Go figure. It’s a mystery.
