85p I would make my own for less than 85p using 25% fat mince, potato's onions and gravy, it's only 12% beef which is pretty poor for any pie. It would cost more than 85p if I used meat that I bought at the full price but my freezer is full of mince that I paid 90p for 500g after Christmas that I haven't used yet.
To be honest for the price its not to bad...If its bland add some salt and pepper..I would have put some knobs of butter in before micro waving. These meals are supposed to be served with veg to be fair..sprouts green beans..or just broccoli. Baked beans would be nice. They serve a purpose for people who have not much time to cook
Deano, on one of your more recent videos, I commented about the idea of living on £2 a day for food. This was exactly what I was talking about... - Breakfast = Coffee - Lunch = A bowl of cereal or basic i.e. ham sandwich - Dinner = A Sainsbury's Stamford Street meal I prefer the hotpots i.e. chicken or beef hotpot but the price and value is the same. Your peeling off the film made me laugh. I am not laughing at you, but the point is, one of the major reasons for the cheap price is the manufacturing, so the packaging including the film top will be very poor. The only disagreement I would make is not using the correct cooking method. Cottage pie or shepherds pie should always be oven baked otherwise with the potato not being crispy, you end up with wet slop. Somethings like pasta (with the exception of lasagna) that you do not want "crispy" would indeed go in the microwave. I think people sometimes get it so wrong by being concerned by the slightest feeling of hunger and having an empty stomach for a few hours. The human stomach takes 4 hours to empty after being filled, but as soon as that sensation starts, people start snacking between meals. There is nothing wrong with having an empty stomach for a couple of hours between meals. So those people who are constantly snacking are those who are spending £10 or more on food which is so unnecessary. "Hungry" and "starving" are 2 totally and completely different things! It is OK to feel "Hungry", and it does not mean you are "starving"!
Names vary from city to city, let alone from opposite sides of the world! We call it a Cottage Pie if it has a pastry crust on the bottom. Without the crust it would be a Shepherd's Pie. I must admit, I do like it more with the pastry crust. It seems to make a huge difference. I would put lots of butter on it to try to pep up the potatoes. Thank you for the video!
Hi I'm making my own cottage pie and other ready meals much cheaper than the supermarket's now just been to Asda this morning pick up chilli con carne 2 tins 4 meals from them topt with mash.
It’s Breakfast… Dinner…. Tea…. Then supper…. Here in Liverpool… 👍👍
Look forward to your blackpool trip.
Your misses is going to love what's left of it, lol.
I’m looking forward the Blackpool videos Deano! It’s tea for me not dinner. Basic meal but it’s 85p… Smithy
I had that for dinner the other night. Bland, coarse chewy mince. Needed brown or Worcestershire sauce.
For 85p it served its purpose.
Don't look too good Deano but for 85p not bad,I can't wait to see the Blackpool videos 😂Xxx 💕
I sometimes get the chicken hotpot and add some tinned sweetcorn heavily buttered of course.
breakfast, lunch dinner supper
mum up north says tea or teatime.
Perhaps a good sprinkle of MSG would improve it. I live by the stuff.

OK, i will comment as I watch. I love cottage pie. How many cereals do you need. fussy kids?. (on the fridge freezer).
I'm in Grimsby and it's most certainly "tea".
😅

Agree, a couple of those with a little veg with a splash of HP, job done👍
Yuck
I enjoy it well enough exactly as it is, don't buy them all the time but I enjoy it when I do.
The macaroni cheese isn't too bad. Obviously nothing compares to homecooked, but it's ok especially for 85p
I'm never out of the damn place .🤣I find those Stamford street meals ok just too small .
Looks grim that mate. I doubt the dog would eat it. The packaging has more texture. And people were complaining about Hello Fresh.
Just started watching.ive had one these and found it so bland bit cheap enough. Be interesting to find out what you Nd wife think of it

Nice cottage pie :D

I would have pop some cheese on it then air fryer for a few minutes

hot sauce.
Bargain, Putting it in the oven would brown the potato,
I agree 💯
To cook it in a Oven will cost more than twice the price of the pie?
Vile.
Bungalow pies are way better 🥧
the package cost 30p lol
Come on 85 pence 🙄🙄🙄
I did not like it.
