Quick foodies, get to ASDA and hoover up all this wrongly priced Cottage Pies before ASDA realise they're priced the wrong way round! Superb review Gareth, I sometimes have the ASDA one if I working late with some microwave brussel sprouts. I haven't tried the other two, however; strange pricing, no doubt after your review, they'll be wanting to fix that! Cheers pal.
Yes I been told why the smart price was fresh when I bought it, well I'm the fridge the other 2 are frozen. Strange but true. Yes I preferred the cheapest one. Tasty gravy. Cheers John. All the best. 😋😋👍👍
I used to eat the Asda cottage pie regularly as I worked within a mile of Asda so I would walk down and pick one up at lunch once a week but when I moved from that job I started to make my own and haven’t looked back. Home made cottage pie is definitely the way to go. I use a Pyrex dish.
Hi Gareth. A great review of the 3 Cottage Pies. The one that was more a red colour is how my homemade recipe is because of the tomato paste. What gets my goat is some brands label their product as Shepherds pie, but it contains beef, not lamb... Grrrr 😡. We also have a Sweet Potato cottage pie and it's just an awful tasting Slop. It seems you have a better product there in England. Cheers Gareth, keep up the good work. 👍😀🇦🇺

Hi Gareth. This is an intersting review. Strange how Asdas smart price one was more expensive than the Asda regular one. Usually I put chilli sauce on it when I buy these which isnt all that often. Getting the cottage pies out is nearly is impossible, you cannot avoid having to break them a bit. But you've definately highlighted the best and nicest one for the money. Quite a turn up for the books in this review - the regular one was the best. I think I'll include the regular cottage pie in my next delivery which is coming this Monday (Asda is where I shop - online mainly). Hi marks and spencer cottage pies r the best x
Once again cheapest wins if you were buying for a family of four that would be a saving of£1,40 which would come to a tidy amount over 12-months. Good review Gareth
Looks good to me ,so im off to asda in the morning lol jwill add some baked beans and they will make a nice lunch .Cheers for that mate .
Hope you enjoy

I love the Tesco cottage pie. Thanks for the review :)
Any time!
ok for 85p spot on !!

Reconstituted mash means instant mash like Smash basically.
remember the advert lol
How come the frozen version of same meal in same supermarket is hugely cheaper.......how about a comparison of frozen v fresh and same meal..same supermarket?
One was fresh the other frozen.
Does that mean mash that's been eaten before
Sounds like I make them just like your Mam.
Just the job with mushy peas, a bit of beetroot (and gravy if you want it).
Happy days. All the best from Manchester.
cheers Paul.
What a great review, what are Asda up to ? Charging extra for the Smart price !
yes its fresh thats why it was more. My mistake.
I suppose the IE on the back of the container to show were the meat comes from Ireland I think bro
cheers Joe yes think so.
IE identifies the location of the packing/preparation plant but not origin of ingredients👍🏻
