I was enjoying this channel until this video. I felt the two players weren't really evenly matched and it was an unfair battle. Fella in the black hoodie was smashing it. Oh well...
Yes! One of them (😅) could be driven to make a big break just for the sake of not changing them. (I would feel so lazy to have to do that!) This is such a funny and wholesome video 😃
This is the most valuable video you've made. For years we watched you do this in silence, and wondered what was going on in your head. Hearing the break- building decisions said out loud is such a privilege.
I've never written a comment on RUclips before but that was the best video I've ever watched. Hendry has reinvigorated my love of snooker with this channel. The snippets you gain from his mindset are fascinating and he follows up by example. His commitment to taking shots on even though he knows the risk speaks to me as a natural leader would in any field or genre. I have so much love for this man
I haven't played snooker in probably 20 year, but this channel is getting me interested again. Even thinking of getting my own snooker table. Quickly becoming one of my favorite RUclips channels. Thanks for making such good content.
It's so good. I've never been interested in snooker (always been pool for me) but I'm going to see if there are any tables nearby to try it out because of the channel.
Really enjoying your videos Stephen. I'm a big fan of you and snooker, going through some tough times at the moment, and your videos give me a real sense of escape and help me clear my head, so thank you
This channel is so good, it's not even funny. Stephen is a joy to watch and listen to. He really does give a great insight into the mind of a top pro during a match.
Thanks Stephen, you’re the only player that could do this so well. Quick note (your play was what brought me back to snooker after a lot of year’s away from it.). Never lost the love of the game, just no,where to play now. Found you on RUclips back about ten years ago, and hooked ever since.
Hendry was careless and we see why he had to retire, but Stephen showed the permanence of his class to clear up and why he's a worthy player on the circuit still.
Glad you gave us the walkthrough of your thinking. Really enjoyed this. Wonder if you would ever commentate/review your previous frames giving us an insight into how you felt throughout?
Seeing him stand back and line up the shot with that iconic look on his face, like a slightly bored deer in the headlights, for an instant it’s like 1995 again. 🐐
I love the commitment to changing jumpers everytime 🤣 I thought when ya said Stephens in his chair he's not happy we would see a shot of him disappointed 🤣 hopefully bump into ya for a photo in Sheffield this year🙂 Love the channel keep it up 👏🏽
Two things. (1.) You've still got it when you're relaxed. That was quality. (2.) This is actually the best video you've done, because you clearly talked through what you were doing and again were very relaxed. Completely random video to be your best, but this is so valuable.
hi, well that was just fantastic, i remember watching you destroy everyone when you went pro, i remember seeing pot black way back then from here in ontario on antenna t.v. i was born in 68 ,you n steve n cliff n jimmy n dennis n all the gentlemen from the 70's 80's n the last great decade, the 90's, the precision of execution to clear a frame was and still is mesmerizing to me, i watched and saw Dennis best Steve and Steve was NOT happy, gentlemanly, of course, but unpleased, the physics and inter workings of the game are beyond me cuz i do not play big table, billiards played here r mostly 4x8 solids n stripes. thanks and keep showing us the inner workings. Can you believe what just happened: yea, it happened in front of me in black and white. awesome
Love this. I especially like hearing your thought process in deciding what shot to go for and why. Keep this up, would love to see you playing one player as yourself and the other as another known pro player (and why they might choose a different shot than you due to different tendencies or whatever). Fun to watch.
How many times have we all commentated on our own matches over the years... how great that the seven times champion of the world does exactly the same! So much fun, thank you everyone involved in this superb channel, the best bonus snooker content by a mile!
Stephen these videos are a pleasure to watch. I have learnt more about snooker tactics & mindset from your cue tips channel than from any other source. Please keep up the good work.
Love this. I sometimes do this when im on my own. One "player" i play safe and only for for absolute certs, the other "opponent" plays very garessive and goes for anything that they can.
The missed blue at 3:35 from Stephen was very suspicious. Well worth an enquiry for match fixing. That said it is nice to see Hendry winning for a change, one way or another.
I rarely comment on these - but this was probably the most instructive snooker vid I have ever seen. Please, Stephen, more of these self-narrated frames!
Hi Stephen, I really enjoyed this one, as well as the other content you are sharing. Amazing quality and commentary for us, mere mortals, but still, lovers of this beautiful game. One thing which I just have to take your attention to is that you were stolen one point at 10:15. It should have been 10:64 when you potted that red, but it was 9:65. It seems that you had a mole in the scores management on the Hendry side. But you managed to win in the end, which makes this even more amazing. :D
Hats off Stephen, you make the game look so easy. Having just gotten back to playing after many years off, I know how difficult it is! Love the videos...keep up the great work!
This is a brilliant idea. Fascinating to hear the thought processes as the match progresses. Just missed a couple of reaction shots of Hendry’s in his chair, sipping water, whilst Stephen was on the table! I’d love this as a regular feature - SH Cue Tips makes other players play themselves. Would love to hear what Mark Williams has to say about Mark Williams!
Is this the first win since your comeback? :) Joking! 7 times world champion, the inventor of modern snooker and the best commentator out there. Honest, realistic and a dry wit.
Thanks Stephen, loving all the videos but this one is by far the best for me. Listening to how you think as you build is priceless. The novice can only guess at how a pro sees the table. Thanks again for sharing.

literally the kind of content I was waiting for i always set my mind to do the best possible shot when going 1v1 against myself, even if it means the best defensive shot i could make cheers!
Like Kremer vs Kremer. I'm not talking about the American movie Kramer vs Kramer, but of the recording of Bach's concerto for two violins in d minor where Gidon Kremer played both violins.
hat was brilliant. Great blue & pink closing out the clearance. Good luck in the world snooker qualifiers, both Stephen & Hendry. Both of you are a class act. Go get the 8th Crown.
What a frame. Hendry had a great chance and looked to have won the frame at 65-9 in front but a classy 57 clearance from Stephen to win 66-65 and some great pressure pots as well.
Unbelievable this. Hope this channel gives you more enjoyment to practise because your still the first name I looked out for in the world champ qualifiers . Still the GOAT
Wouldn't it be great if players were mic'd up during championship play, and provided a running commentary on their shot choices :) Best shot for me was that final blue. It bent physics !
This is the best video on the channel. You should do this exact thing with guests and get them to run through their shots instead of only potting for conversation filler.
Hahah, I do this all the time at the local pub, characters n all - people think Im nutz 😁 Glad to see your channel doing so well, thanks for everything!
Inside the mind of a player. Watching the top 100 players in the world, I start to take for granted that they just make good shots and forget that they have to think three shots ahead. Great insight
Two of my favourite players going head to head. What a frame!
Wait so they are not twins?
14 world championships between them!
And the commentator did a stunning job!
"Stephen's in his chair. He's not happy" 😂
I was enjoying this channel until this video. I felt the two players weren't really evenly matched and it was an unfair battle. Fella in the black hoodie was smashing it. Oh well...
In the tone of the 1966 World Cup Football game............."He is now!"
Just read that in Virgo’s voice 😂
Changing tops every visit 😂 love the commitment 👌
Yes! One of them (😅) could be driven to make a big break just for the sake of not changing them. (I would feel so lazy to have to do that!) This is such a funny and wholesome video 😃
Great to hear a player's thought processes while building a break! Very insightful, thanks.
Very true
That words he said after he potted the pink were so pure.
Even after playing for decades he is in love with the game.
Loved it ❤❤.
Two of the best players and a great commentary, what more can you ask for?
Could ask him to do it blindfolded and left handed
This is the most valuable video you've made. For years we watched you do this in silence, and wondered what was going on in your head. Hearing the break- building decisions said out loud is such a privilege.
Fascinating insight from “both players’” perspectives from a 7-time world champion. Cheers Stephen, I am loving this channel!
It’s always a real privilege when an all time great in any sport has a natural and charismatic ability to demonstrate their knowledge!

This is great would love to see this as a series. Best of 9 frames!
Would be great if they edited in some old footage of Hendry looking on in his seat

Stephen Hendry was a good player
Hands down, the first time I've been torn on who I wanted to win in a snooker match.
Nice comeback; Stephen!
Better luck next time; Hendry.
I'm glad Stephen won but not Lee or Higgins

love this stephen vs. hendry format with all the commentary and explanations! keep it coming 👍🏾
The fact that you kept changing your top for a RUclips video OFFICIALLY makes you the first Snooker RUclips Legend. Quality video

Thanks Stephen love watching you play snooker and ur thought process channel is great
Thanks Stephen and thanks also to Hendry for the entertainment and insights!
Brilliant to have the reasons behind your shot choices. Would like to see more of these please.
Steven is the absolute man! Loved this. Brilliant to hear the thought process.
gotta love the humour talking about the opponent on his chair lol
Absolute class, to keep concentration, explain shots selection and thought process, and then to then make a winning clearance. That was a great watch.
Absolutely brilliant. Really interesting to hear Stephen comment on his strategy and the issues with shot choices.

Stephen really is having a great time with this channel and it's coming through😂 love it. More playthroughs with commentary plz!
This man is putting so much effort in his videos
He deserves to be subscribed ❤
I did not know how thrilling this was gonna be. Great clearance, loved hearing you talk us through it.
That blue to pink was world class. Such a difficult shot.
Reminds of when I was home alone and bored and I pretended I was playing against Ding Junhui. With referee phrases in a Michela Tabb accent.
Great to hear his thought processes as building the break
