I just know Aaliyah would have been an icon. In her own words, she wasn't just anybody. She was already the real deal. A lot of big names in Music (Janet, Whitney, Stevie) were cosigning her. Had the movie industry wrapped around her finger. She had a movie deal with warner bros up until 2007. She was already international by the time AANBAN came out. The entertainment industry has been trying to fill her void for years and have never done it. Her style is still impactful to this day. She's really the only celebrity death that truly hurts me to this day. It's a damn shame we'll never experience what could have been 🥺💔
I'm 14 and when I was younger my mom showed me romeo must die and when I seen Aaliyah for the first time I thought she was the most prettiest girl I had ever seen I feel in love with her watching just that one movie
They forgot Xscape too. TLC and Xscape wore the baggy clothes in the early 90s, but Aaliyah was solo, had a different sound, and mysterious image. So, she stood out. Anyway, cool video.
Aaliyah was a very intelligent and well-spoken young woman. She was nice with everyone but also had sense. Something I really admire about her. May her legacy continue to live on in the best light💕💕💕
You know that was a myth? Tommy never said anything about not making clothes for black ppl. I was shocked too lol. I think the black community just ran w it cause its believable, it definitely happens in the fashion industry
I never believed it. Maybe being naive cuz Quincy Jones daughter had a high position in his company which doesn't mean he can't be racist but also if it happened on Oprah, why wasn't there video of it? That would have been all over the news. The only video that exists on youtube is of Oprah and Tommy discussing being confused how the rumor started since they never met before.
Because it was said on Oprah and back then she was the gospel for gossipy news. Remember when Ciara allegedly went on Oprah and reviled she was born with both reproductive parts and her parents choose her to be a woman. We believed that too even though we never saw that episode. Hell I believed that until her pregnancy 😂
@@ActuallyAnanya Now Dolce & Gabbana, they obviously racist. Thankfully, I have never worn they clothing. I've always loved Phat Farm, And1, Ecko Unlimited, Rocawear, Southpole, & other baggy clothing.

I miss Aaliyah everyday. Its sad she is not here anymore, the movies and music she could have done. I love her style, I would do my hair and wear baggy pants back then cause of her. Imo nobody comes close to her beauty

They’re just nasty and shameless💀 people don’t care about being tasteful anymore, it’s just full on porn music videos to compensate for the lack of talent. Aaliyah didn’t need to take off all her clothes for millions of people to watch her🤷🏾♀️

Yes She was A Baby still When she died in 2001 at just 22 years old , She didn't even get to live her life fully , I Wish she got to live her life to the fullest .
Your right early 90s Tommy Hilfiger did say his clothes were not designed for the black race. I'm paraphrasing. Although I do believe part of the collaboration with Aaliyah was necessary in his mind to save the brand from his disgusting remarks. He spoke his sic truth with no remorse. Ironically look who saved his racist arse brand from extinction. IMO no one has the class, talent nor beauty that came naturally to Aaliyah.
Girl, you're on youtube. Search the Tommy and Oprah interview. Information is too accessible for ppl to still be talking about 'rumors'. He literally said the exact opposite🤦🏾♀️
Next time don’t react to a video with a ignorant commentator in it calling Aaliyah names that the public didn’t like GHETTO GOD the public didn’t call her that her image was known as STREET BUT SWEET. And for her to say her early videos DIDNT HAVE ANY CREATIVE CONCEPT is inaccurate because literally all Aaliyah’s videos are creative that’s one of the things she’s known for.
Aaliyah was mature for her age. That’s probably why you thought she was a lil older

Romeo Must Die is a GREAT movie. Love love love her, DMX, and Jet Li together
If Dee said she was related to Aaliyah...I'd believe

I don't think Aaliyah would've fizzled out...she had movie deals lined up like the Matrix and she was set to work with Janet Jackson.
