  • Owners Abdul Elenani and Ayat Masoud opened their restaurant Ayat serving up hearty Palestinian dishes that are large enough to feed a family. Ayat, who grew up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, always dreamed of introducing her community to the traditional Palestinian dishes she ate within her home. While Middle Eastern street food flavors - such as shawarma, kebabs, falafel, and hummus - are popular in their neighborhood, some of the more traditional Palestinian and regional recipes she loves are less well known. The nostalgic recipes, which she learned from her mom, include dishes like mansaf - made with lamb that is cooked in a fermented yogurt and served over saj bread and rice and garnished with almonds and parsley.

      It doesn't sound like something that could be done on an industralised scale either, so it'll probably be higher quality meat.

    • @HassanAli-rb5hq
      @HassanAli-rb5hq 2 года назад +23

      Halal meat is basically predicated on mercy- to reduce the animals suffering. The knife has to be sharp and cut very quickly. The animal can't even see the knife or the blood of other animals before its death, bc it'll get scared and then its not halal. An animal that is too young, sick is not halal. If someone like today in the factories, abuses an animal that animal is not considered halal. The animal must be treated well during its life. The reason you say Allah's name is bc, it's like taking permission from him to kill this animal, bc it's for the purpose of consumption.
      This is a good video that explains it better.
      m.ruclips.net/video/Nc6VpMPsDmk/видео.html
      That's why I don't think halal can ever be industrialised. Bc the conditions alone will render it haram.

And we're like no those r actually way better than the industrialised process
