This is happening in the context of the systematic erasure of the Palestinian people. When everything has been taken from you, your land, your home, your dignity... your culture, your food is what you hold onto as a connection to that. And to also have that taken from you and presented as "Israeli", is another act of violence and erasure. This also comes in the context of Arabs being represented in the west as uncivilised and with no culture, so it's a slap in the face when people perpetuate the lie that these foods, kanafe, falafel, falahi salad, hummus etc. are Israeli.

Let me point to a serious issue :
How difficult is it to have 200 RUclips accounts run by 2 or 10 soldiers of a particular military group or unit in the Israeli army to affect the public opinion in the comments section?
Let them be 500 soldiers talking multiple languages, with every account pretending to be someone of a particular background and personality. E.g. might be religious, atheist, resistance supporter, victim, Evangelist, Muslim, average citizen, just absolutely anything. They might pretend to be opponents in politics and social views or anything. One of them might provoke a rage. This way they can drive a reaction and orient the public opinion either to make a conflict, divert attention away from massacres, weaken the intrinsic reaction, leveraging side issues, manipulating priorities, deepening loyalty to bad institutions, causing disturbance among/ between religious/ ethnic groups, spreading rumors, character assassination...
So how to know the truth? Follow your heart not your desire! Your heart is on the opposite side of the colonialists' interests who don't care about you, absolutely whoever you were.
Please share and help spread the word if you like the idea.

We took my sister & her husband to a Palestinian restaurant by our home for Christmas Eve dinner. Just a regular meal, but it is one of the best holidays we've had in awhile. Because of the love the family who owns the restaurant puts into their food.

they literally stole everything, in london the israeli restaurants culture is crazy and while some of them are clearly really good, especially in jewish areas such as where i live in NW london, the cultural appropriation is actually insane
