    I just made this as my first garment. I modified the bottom to be one tier that goes to my knee. It gave it more of a baby doll style. I also added darts since I have a bigger bust. I definitely recommend that for the busty girls. Overall I'm so happy and can't wait to tackle some more projects

    Hi thank you so much for this tutorial your videos are awesome! I was wondering if you think I’d be able to double up on the tiers with linen fabric instead of just one layer so that it’s not see through. Do you think that would work?

    • @critchley999
      @critchley999 Год назад

      Forgive me for replying but I think doubling up on the tiers with something like linen would make them very bulky and not gather or hang very well. Maybe choose a slightly thicker cotton material for the actual dress so you can't see through it (white always seems to be see-through) or make a simple A-line waist-slip to wear under it which you could use for any other see-through dress too x

    • @JessDangDIY
      @JessDangDIY  11 месяцев назад +1

      I think her reply is right. Adding double width for each tier will make the dress heavier and bigger, especially for thick fabrics.

    Love you Jess! Quick question, am I to cut two identical rectangles for the skirt for each of the tiers? This seems like a lot of fabric! Couldnt you also just cut one really long one and have only one side seem? Thanks Jess! This will be my first dress so Im scared 😅

    • @sammybananny
      @sammybananny Год назад

      I watched a few more times and realized that the tiers increase by 1.5 in width each time. So then we should only cut one panel of each tier, yes?

    Hi, can I know why you made two layers for the bodice? Can I just do 1 layer if my material is not see through?

    • @JessDangDIY
      @JessDangDIY  Год назад

      You can do it. But 2 layers for the bodice will help to hide all the seam inside and you can have the nice connecting between the bodice and the shoulder straps. With one layer only, you have the finish the edge of the bodice.

    I don't know if I speak for anyone else... It may be just me but I really am trying to replicate this dress by following your instructions. The transcript is not transcribing correctly so when you say, "breast" (I think that's what you're saying) it comes out"birth". So in measuring my tiers you say (according to your transcript) "one and a half times my birth size" so I think you mean breast size? Just wondering why you're not measuring against the hip size and also if you can possibly get a proper English transcription or at least leave the directions on your screen longer (which are proper English but flash too quickly to read). Thank you!

    Hi Jess, I am a size Medium. How do I know what size to cut the 3 tiers for the skirt?

    • @JessDangDIY
      @JessDangDIY  Год назад +1

      Each tier will be at least 1.5 times bigger than the tier above it to create the gathering fabric. The more you add, the bigger the dress will come

    • @whisperedwonderland

      @@JessDangDIY thank you, very helpful. What if I wanted tier 1 to be longer than the tier 2 and 3, maybe just above the knees and tier 2 and 3 to be the same. How should that be best measured?
