Amitab bachhan is playing Aswarthama in this role, which is why I’m looking forward for this role, Aswarthama was a great warrior in Mahabharata, he is someone you grew to love when you read the story but there comes a day where he will have to participate in the Mahabharata war, he is one of the only few warriors called who can use Brmhastra(the ultimate weapon in this material universe, created by the creator of the universe, it can unexist anything in this world). So at the end of the Mahabharata war, when his father was killed by a small trick by the enemy (Aswarthama ha hatha ha (kunzara) ha), he gets enraged and uses the ultimate weapon to kill everyone in their sleep, including Pandavas and his enemies unborn child (which is against the code of war as per Hindu scriptures, you shouldn’t kill an unarmed enemy, a sleeping enemy, a child). Although he is stopped from doing so by lord Krishna, he gets the curse of immortality to forever suffer due to his actions. Of course, Aswarthama realizes his mistake, gets guilty for letting anger get the best of him and for trying to even kill an unborn child for his agenda, so he begs lord Krishna for forgiveness and accept the punishment. But lord Krishna reveals him that his curse will be removed in the future and task him to protect his next Avathar. That’s the story behind this movie, or rather part of Aswarthama story.

Come on dude. The aesthetics and visuals are clearly inspired by Star Wars and Dune. Just because they did some lip service to Hindu mythology with names doesn't change much. Story is almost entirely same as Hollywood flicks.

It is true it takes inspiration from Dune, Star Wars etc movies but story is the main factor and well done visuals with great story taken from Indian secret texts it is going to be exciting. Any one noticed the height of Ashwathama, it is mentioned in ancient hindu scriptures that as the kaliyug current (time period ) progresses the height of humans will decrease , if we go by mordern scientists according to them the height of every mamal species is reducing as global warming rises . This movie started even before Dune released I guess but there are things that are inspired form hollywood but heh tollywood is a regional film industry . India never had this level of sci fo movies. Even if they copied and executed exactly like dune I am still very very impressed.
A lot of what you see in both the glimpse and the trailer are references to Hindu scriptures(itihasas). Researching a little bit about the Mahabharata would probably be a good idea going into this new movie.
The best thing I liked about this movie and the vision of the director Nag Ashwin is that he is making it so accurate to the scriptures. For example, Deepika Padukone which is pregnant with Kalki, her name shown in thr bounty is 'SUM-80' and in the scriptures, kalki's mother will be 'Sumati'.
This is the movie based on hindus vedas (supreme knowledge of univers and life ) .... there is four era in hinduism..and the present era is kalyug ( darkage) where crime and darkness spreading slowly and in the end of this era (aprrox.. 1.2 lakh year more ) kalipurush get a physical form and the 10th avtar of lord vishnu after lord krishna born on earth team up with 7 chiranjeevi which stay on earth for thousands of years .....and all fight against kalipurush.

Let me explain why Indian audience is damn eager for this: In Hinduism, there are 4 Yugas (Eras). Satya Yuga (Golden Age) Treta Yuga (Silver Age) Dwapar Yuga (Copper Age) and Kali Yuga (Iron Age). The level of wickedness, badness and misery in world increases in every consecutive Yuga. As years pass, one Yug ends and another begins. Ramayan happened in Treta Yug. Mahabharat happened in Dwapar Yug. Currently we are in the Kali Yug (2024 AD). Now the interesting part, The Yugas aren't linear, they are in a circle like a clock, the end of Kali Yug would begin the Satya Yug. But as Satya Yuga is the holiest of all and Kaliyug the unholiest, the transition of these two Yugas won't be the same as the other pairs. When this happens, the Universe will face an entire wipe out and only the good souls will survive that will carry on the Satya Yuga once again. It is like a circle of life. What begins will end, and the end will bring a new beginning! He was about to kill the unborn kid, then Lord Krishna (an avatar of Vishnu about 6-7000 years ago) stopped him, stripped him of his forehead gem, cursed him with immorality and never healing wounds until the end of the world. That Mahabharata war happened about 6-7000 years ago. Now ashawathama has to help the last avatar of Vishnu named Kalki. And Deepika is pregnant with Kalki. Bhairava(Prabhas) is probably an avatar of Shiva who is prophesied to help kalki to end the dark age and usher in a new golden age.

Also the VFX is not bad at all ofcourse it's not the best compared to big budget hollywood movies. But still it's better them most of the Marvel and DC VFX. What funny is i found people on reddit trolling this movie on basis of poster calling it worst version ripoff of dune and Rebel moon. It is true it takes inspiration from Dune, Star Wars etc movies but story is the main factor and well done visuals with great story taken from Indian secret texts it is going to be exciting.

Any one noticed the height of Ashwathama, it is mentioned in ancient hindu scriptures that as the kaliyug current (time period ) progresses the height of humans will decrease , if we go by mordern scientists according to them the height of every mamal species is reducing as global warming rises .

It's a Indian mythology which was written before terminator, dune, Star Wars. The Story was original.
The best thing I liked about this movie and the vision of the director Nag Ashwin is that he is making it so accurate to the scriptures. For example, Deepika Padukone which is pregnant with Kalki, her name shown in thr bounty is 'SUM-80' and in the scriptures, kalki's mother will be 'Sumati'.
This is the movie based on hindus vedas (supreme knowledge of univers and life ) .... there is four era in hinduism..and the present era is kalyug ( darkage) where crime and darkness spreading slowly and in the end of this era (aprrox.. 1.2 lakh year more ) kalipurush get a physical form and the 10th avtar of lord vishnu after lord krishna born on earth team up with 7 chiranjeevi which stay on earth for thousands of years .....and all fight against kalipurush.
Kalki to Terminator was a nice unexpected comparison. I like that but Kalki is about to happen as per the Indian vedic texts and ancient books .. not sure about terminator though 😂😂😂

3) Kalki Avatar has not been born yet he's inside Deepika Padukone's womb, her name is Sau 80 (in Mahabharat mother of Kalki is Saumati and Lord Vishnu).
4) Prabhas as Bhairava is a Bounty hunter and he needs 1 million Units to live in Complex (Only Rich people can live in Complex) also Unit is the Measuring unit for the source of power to run the Nano technology they are using to run the weapons and the world (Unit is like Money 💰 for them).
5) As per Mahabharat we are in Kaliyuga and this movie is the end of this world Kaliyuga and a new world will start from here as Satayuga.
6) Ashwathama cursed by Lord Krishna and snatched his stone (Power source) during Mahabharat because he tried to unalive a pregnant women but in this movie by the end of Kaliyuga he got his stone back and he will save Sau 80 because she is going to give birth Kalki.
7) Bujji the A.I informed Prabhas aka Bhairava that a 5 star ⭐ bounty of 1 Million units can be received whomsoever catches Sau 80. So, Prabhas tries to catch Sau 80 to receive bounty to live in Complex and Ashwathama is trying to save Sau 80 and Kalki in her womb.

Let me explain why Indian audience is damn eager for this: In Hinduism, there are 4 Yugas (Eras). Satya Yuga (Golden Age) Treta Yuga (Silver Age) Dwapar Yuga (Copper Age) and Kali Yuga (Iron Age).
The level of wickedness, badness and misery in world increases in every consecutive Yuga. As years pass, one Yug ends and another begins.
Ramayan happened in Treta Yug. Mahabharat happened in Dwapar Yug. Currently we are in the Kali Yug (2024 AD).
Now the interesting part, The Yugas aren't linear, they are in a circle like a clock, the end of Kali Yug would begin the Satya Yug. But as Satya Yuga is the holiest of all and Kaliyug the unholiest, the transition of these two Yugas won't be the same as the other pairs. When this happens, the Universe will face an entire wipe out and only the good souls will survive that will carry on the Satya Yuga once again. It is like a circle of life. What begins will end, and the end will bring a new beginning!
There are more details of each Yuga in ancient Indian Scriptures (Vedaas, Puraanas, etc.), how they were, what were the timelines, how were the humans then, etc.
Now, coming to the movie... You need to know that in these four Yugas, to maintain the balance and prove the victory of goodness vs evil (Dharma vs Adharma), Lord Vishnu, the Proprietor of the Universe incarnates in the mortal world for 10 times, called the 10 Avatars or Dashavatar ( There are many more but 10 are mainly known in the Scriptures).
Here are the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu in order:
1. Matsya: The fish avatar, said to have rescued the first man, Vaivasvata Manu, and the seven sages during the great flood.
2. Kurma: The tortoise avatar, who helped the gods and demons churn the ocean of milk to obtain the nectar of immortality.
3. Varaha: The boar avatar, who rescued the goddess Earth from the demon Hiranyaksha.
4. Narasimha: The half-man, half-lion avatar, who killed the demon Hiranyakashyap.
5. Vamana: The dwarf avatar, who defeated the demon king Mahabali.
6. Parashurama: The axe-wielding avatar, who destroyed the demon king Kartavirya Arjuna and his sons.
7. Rama: The prince of Ayodhya, who defeated the demon king Ravana and his brother Kumbhakarna.
8. Krishna: The divine prince of Mathura, who defeated the demon king Kansa and his allies.
9. Buddha: The enlightened one, who taught the path of non-violence and self-realization.
10. Kalki: The future avatar, who is said to appear at the end of the Kali Yuga to bring about a new era of peace and prosperity.
Note: Some sources may vary in their listing of the avatars, but the above is the most commonly accepted order.
Avatar is an Indian (Sanskrit) word. Dharma means righteousness and not religion here!.
You guys must have heard about Shree Ram, Shree Krishn and The Buddha. They were the 7th, 8th and 9th Avatars of Lord Vishnu. Depending on necessities, He incarnated with different qualities and forms. In Treta Yug, Shree Ram established Dharma by defeating Ravan and establishing Ram Rajya, the rule of peace. In Dwapar Yug, Shree Krishn defeated Kans to protect his region, and his role in the Great Mahabharat to establish Dharm is known by you. Interestingly, till today, only 9 Avatars have been born and completed their goals. The 10th and last avatar of Lord Vishnu was prophecised to come at the end of Kali Yug to establish Dharm once again and this destruction will start the Satya Yuga once again. The name of this Avatar will be Kalki. Even the birthplace and names of parents are mentioned in the Holy Scriptures of Hinduism. This movie is based on the place, where Shambhapur will see the birth of Kalki (in the womb of Deepika). Amitabh Bachchan's character is of Ashwatthama, one of the 7 Chiranjeevi of the world, who was cursed by Shree Krishn at the end of Mahabharat to be Chiranjeevi and suffer. He and the other 6 Chiranjeevi including Hanuman will pave the way for Kalki to reach his destination to defeat Kali, the demon.
The Chiranjeevi are a group of seven immortals in Hindu Scriptures, who are said to have lived for thousands of years and are believed to possess supernatural powers.(Immortal in the scene that they have long life span not unkillable, btw they are very strong, super human strong like the super man so it's very unlikely that anyone can kill them!)
According to Hindu scriptures, these immortals will remain alive until the end of the Kali Yuga, the current era of time.
The 7 Chiranjeevi:
1. Parashurama: The sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu, known for his knowledge of all astras and shastras. He is said to reemerge at the end of time to be the martial guru of Kalki, the final avatar of Lord Vishnu.
2. Ashwatthama: The son of Dronacharya, a great warrior and teacher. He was gifted with a gem on his forehead by Lord Shiva and possesses divine powers.
3. Hanuman: The devoted follower of Lord Rama and a key figure in the Ramayana. He is said to be immortal and will remain alive until the end of the Kali Yuga.
4. Kripa: A great warrior and a teacher of the Pandavas. He is said to possess supernatural powers and is believed to be immortal.
5. Vibhishana: The brother of Ravana and the king of Lanka. He is said to have been given the blessing of a long life by Lord Rama and will remain alive until the end of the Kali Yuga.
6. Bali: A king of the asuras and a great devotee of Lord Vishnu. He is said to be immortal and will remain alive until the end of the Kali Yuga.
7. Vyasa: A great sage and the author of the Mahabharata and the Puranas. He is said to be immortal and will remain alive until the end of the Kali Yuga.
These seven immortals are believed to possess supernatural powers and are said to play a crucial role in the events leading up to the end of the Kali Yuga and the beginning of the Satya Yuga, the next era of time.
This movie has the backdrop of a very core subject which is close to us Indians and that's why, people will definitely appreciate it.
I'll say a very interesting fact at the last:
1. It is believed that in Satya Yuga, good and evil were in different worlds, Devta (Demigods) in Devlok and Asuras (demons) in Asurlok...
2. In Treta Yug, good and evil were in same world, Shree Ram and Ravan
3. In Dwapar Yug, good and evil were in the same family, Pandavas and Kauravas.
4. In Kali Yug, good and evil are in the same person, our own thoughts! THIS IS A VERY BIG LESSON I BELIEVE!

He was about to kill the unborn kid, then Lord Krishna (an avatar of Vishnu about 6-7000 years ago) stopped him, stripped him of his forehead gem, cursed him with immorality and never healing wounds until the end of the world. That Mahabharata war happened about 6-7000 years ago. Now ashawathama has to help the last avatar of Vishnu named Kalki. And Deepika is pregnant with Kalki. Bhairava(Prabhas) is probably an avatar of Shiva who is prophesied to help kalki to end the dark age and usher in a new golden age.

This movie is based on the hindu mythology.. according to our scriptures kalki is the 10th and last last avatar of lord vishnu who is yet to born.. he'll come and slay every evil on this planet and will set up a better world
To help him 7 immortal super beings will come (we call them 7 chiranjeevis) and Ashwatthama (amitabh sir's character) is one of them.. he was cursed in a war by lord vishnu's 9th avater which is krishna as he killed 5 unborn babies and now he'll undo the curse by protecting the 10th avater which is inside deepika's womb..
So prabhas is not kalki here

In scriptures it is also mentioned that the parents of the 10th avater will be vishnuyasa and sumati.. which was also used in the trailer as you can see when bujji tells bhairava about the 1 million bounty in the screen the name is showed as "sum-80" which can also mean sumati...

Also the VFX is not bad at all ofcourse it's not the best compared to big budget hollywood movies.
But still it's better them most of the Marvel and DC VFX.
What funny is i found people on reddit trolling this movie on basis of poster calling it worst version ripoff of dune and Rebel moon. While after seeing this trailer it looks better then then in terms of story and quality.
