- It's almost a year ago that I released an Epica vocal cover. So it was about time that I recorded another one. I hope you enjoy my rendition of this epic song by one of the best symphonic metal bands out there!

TLDR: Overall, pretty good.
idk if it's just me but it seems like you're holding back your own touches to the song. Sure, there are some subtle differences in moments but I mean like that growl, that's yours, that's you.
If I may suggest a song, I would suggest "Élan by Nightwish" I think this song would show your abilities more.
Just remember that the best covers of songs are those that made it their own.
Thanks for your feedback! You're not the first stating this and you won't be the last either! Thing is, if I'm being more originial someone will say they don't like my style. If I copy the original someone like you will say I need to sound more like myself. I can't please everyone so I simply do not think about it and just follow my guts!
And sometimes it'll be more unique (like my cover of Don't Pray for Me by WT). And sometimes it'll sound more like the original, like this one :) I do use more head voice than Simone in this song. Because of that my vocals sound more delicate while hers sound more powerful. To me at least. Because that's how I hear it and opinions are always subjective! You might get a totally different feel. And that's completely fine. That's one of the things that makes music so special!
P.s. I was already working on Élan. Need to finish that one! Not certain if it'll be in a more original style though 😆
