PLEASE make more tutorials. It's very rare for someone to have actual skills to produce also making good tutorials. This video alone is really good and would be very interesting to dive deep into production of wave/phonk.
@@SAGE_BEATS Nice! Didn't think to check out the live section. I remember trying to learn Ableton Live almost 11(!) years now, but it never really clicked for me and then studies took too much time/energy. Tried again here and there since, but still no click for me. It's a dream being able to produce wave/phonk, pretty much is 90% of what I listen to for the last few years. Very inspiring to watch these kind of tutorials, makes me want to download a DAW again. Will check your streams as well 🙏
I am from the Dark Wave and Witch House era, I had no idea Deadcrow's music is called Phonk these days. All these genres and generations move so fast... But in the end it's all Garage. 😊 You are awesome for this, and I have heard you before. I have heard Sibewest before too. Your tips and samples are amazing, thanks for the huge tip on vocals. But you forgot to mention something important: When using expensive vocals without permission, you MUST transform the audio enough that it's harder to get copyright claims. You did mention effects on the vocals but I think you should have highlighted this. You don't want people's driving music getting reported do you?
Any chance anyone could go into detail on the plucky bass at 3:30? I dont really understand where he adds the LFO/ what type of LFO he is using. Thanks
@@SAGE_BEATS right gotcha thanks, how do you apply the modulation to the low pass filter? Because the closest I could get was applying it to the cutoff
Yo Sage, I've been following your work for about a month and a half and you have grown so much in such a short time that it is incredible. Although inspired by some of the other artists that you mentioned, your music is unique in its own way. Keep that up, keep making unique music, do it as along as it's fun, and I, and I'm sure many others will be with you throughout your journey. Hope to comment on your future videos with hundreds of thousands or millions of views saying "I knew this guy since the beginning" Some other rap vocals you may want to use: HAARPER Scarlxrd Baker Ya Maker (member of devilish trio) Bones Pouya
would you recommend top down mastering? Like starting with your mastering settings that you showed in the vid before even starting, and then mixing the beat into it? Ive heard a lot of modern producers do this, and it might be a good learning lesson for beginners to understand what all these plugins are doing.
Now if only I knew the slightest bit about music mixing and this software. :D I'm doing good just to use Audacity to do a little bit of editing on songs.
Nice tutorial. Also thinking about using Vocal Remover app. But the only concern - I guess there will be problems with copyrights when uploading your music to Spotify etc. Does it require to contact vocals author and ask or buy a permission?

Hi basically its a downward saw shape going at the speed of eighth notes modulating a low pass filter
@@SAGE_BEATS right gotcha thanks, how do you apply the modulation to the low pass filter? Because the closest I could get was applying it to the cutoff
@VehicleVault sorry that's what I meant... apply the modulation to the cutoff on a low pass filter

Generally I will not have a limiter while I produce. Only after the beat is pretty much fully mixed
Now if only I knew the slightest bit about music mixing and this software. :D I'm doing good just to use Audacity to do a little bit of editing on songs.
is it even legal to remove vocals? you do upload on spotify?

Yo! I'm following this and everyone is digging it. Would you recommend a reference track to figure out the arrangement?
You can use reference track for mixing aswell, it's very useful if you're new :)
I downloaded reese bass packs but i cant get it to sound fat and cut through the mix 😞
