It's been 5 years since we started playing Cities Skylines on this channel. I can't wait for the sequel to drop later this year You can watch all of my Cities Skylines videos here: ruclips.net/p/PLliBvQE3gg9dNVEj6v6iXaTqqrZYwFc7e
You should really try Sim City 4 for streams. It's a bit older, but there's some really fun stuff in it, like instead of getting a bailout if you go bankrupt, your financial advisor cuts you a deal to put some federal building like a max security prison or nuclear waste disposal in exchange for a boost to your income. You can also get your cities to connect up for some minor gameplay stuff (from what I remember), like dumping pollution into the map borders to plague a different city. Could be cute to have several streams' cities all on the same map for memories sake
21:35 What heroic astronauts, sacrificing themselves to stop the apocalyptic meteor shower! They're definitely not just abandoning the city before the meteors start singing Country Roads!
Daniel only discovers the actual consequence of disasters now because when he unleashed them in the past they could not physically make his cities any worse than they already were Like what is worse? A strong gust of wind, or a shit volcano erupting?
Just graduated from Highschool. I've been watching RT through the whole thing. I adored the City Skylines series through and through. Now that it's all over, I was happy to sing along to Country Roads one more time as those meteors fell again.
_-A meteor on its way near the city, potentially killing hundreds or thousands of citizens._ Dan: "How will this affect the economy? " Dan's already a perfect city builder.
the absolute tsunami of nostalgia when country roads started playing and the meteors were falling seriously almost brought me to tears. what a journey this channel has been on
watching the rocket take off, accompanied by the wave of green, happy faces, heedless of the calamity approaching, and the phrase “and the people were happy” actually brought a tear to my eye
The funny thing is, the timer is the countdown to their doom, because that's when Cities Skyline 2 comes out and RT is probably gonna delete this town or game
why on earth would he delete it though? it's not particulary expensive on storage and it's probably gonna be some really good memories in a couple years
@@ryan_765 because he could extremely easily just redownload it later if he wanted to play it again, and he already has stream vods of every part of the city so theres no need to keep it for the sake of hoarding
That ending had me feeling nostalgic in a way I did not expect out of one of your videos. I love that you brought back the old tradition in celebration of the best city you've ever built.
country roads playing, the saturn V lifting off, the chorus hitting as the wave of happiness spreads across the city, just pure refuge in audacity of the meteor swarm about to kill everyone... Just beautiful, Dan. Just beautiful.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who broke out in uncontrollable laughter every time the reverb sheep noises happened. Dear god I think I've bust a gut.
I smiled gleefully from the happiness I've experienced, as Drift King - in the end - destroyed entire city he spent so much working on. It's such a beautiful end and the reminder of how far we've all came. Thank you, Rumble Tumble, for everything
This has made me really nostalgic and its so fitting that the last episode of city skylines before the sequel comes out is one were Dan FINALLY makes a functional city (that isnt just a single road) I cant wait to experience it all over again as Dan tries to figure out City Skylines 2❤
Watching RT correctly play a sandbox game is actually so much more satisfying than his usual stuff. Not that his usual stuff is bad by any means, I love all his other city skylines videos. And its probably because of them that makes watching these so much better.
This whole series has had an actual character arc of Dan finally learning how to plan and manage a city, with powercreep and everything. Honestly, more than a little emotional for someone who built a poop volcano and Spaghetti Junction. Glad to see he hasn't changed, despite how much he's grown.
the city cheering for the last rocket leaving before being struck by dozens of meteors with country roads playing is actually movie stuff, a post apocalyptic movie on that would be awesome
That final wave of happiness as the people watch those astronauts save themselves from the meteor strike that they apparently didn't report to the public was like a disaster film.
When Country roads started playing, it was so beautiful. The nostalgia hit me like a train. The West Virginia video was the first thing I ever watched on your channel… and now to see it again in its full glory is fantastic… may the last song that plays before the world ends irl be country roads because that would be *ALMOST HEAVEN*
14:51 I like how this implies that either A) Bird watching brings the birds into existence, and they are subsequently killed by powerlines. or B) You just shouldn’t look up or you’ll see them die.
I'd love to see a follow-up to this where Dan actually tries to recover from the apocalypse. Would be interesting to see if and how the city changes as a result. But even if this is the last video of this city it was an entertaining journey.
00:14:00 Because of the large exclusion zone restricting other development, there's actually a fairly robust natural ecosystem around the nuclear power plant where I work. We often see turkey on site, and there was a bear spotted not long ago. There's also a provincial park situated right nearby.
Of all the things I expected to see in Cities Skylines, the wails of the damned souls of the thousands of Wooloos RT has slain while searching for a shiny was not among them.
Watching RT dig the trenches about midway through was like watching someone say "I can have just one drink" and then the meteors at the end is like watching a full blown relapse.
“Is brutalism a style of architecture?” Yup, think of 70’s buildings and lots of concrete. We’ve a few brutalist buildings here in Aberdeen that were used in the filming of _Tetris_ because apparently they are good stand ins for soviet Russia. So think of that sort of architecture.
The cities skylines videos were some of the first videos that really made me like RT’s videos for RT. I first came for the Minecraft but I watched a few other videos and his personality and jokes are what kept me. Thank you for being the best and most consistent RUclipsr on RUclips.
the meteors raining hell on this beautifully crafted city that has overcome sm and country roads playing in the background made me feel so happy and nostalgic, i should’ve worn my country roads merch but ah well :)
I had only just started my GCSE's when I watched the first episode of your city skylines. If you had told me then, that I'd be crying 5 years later in uni, to country roads, I would have laughed in your face.
It's honestly amazing how watching meteors fall in a simple city builder while Country Roads plays can be this nostalgia inducing for me and many others. Thanks for all the years of glorious entertainment RT, seriously. Can't wait to see City Skylines 2!
I've always wanted to see RT put in all if his effort into an solid city, and it's finally happened and it was amazing to see get built up, and destroyed 😅
This video gives such a feeling of things coming full circle. Your Cities Skylines videos (and Country Roads endings) got me into watching your channel and it's been a blast watching all the content you do. This was a fantastic city and I'm glad you managed to get one put together before it's time to retire this game and move on to the sequel. Thanks for the video!

My first RT video was the original poop fountain, I remember laughing so hard and showing my parents. It was the video to introduce me to Country Roads and now I find myself singing it often. This was a nice reminder of why I love this channel!

the airport killed me hahaha the second runways were... fine then just fkn thrown a couple of planes between and at the end of the runway rt you're my hero
Even after building the perfect city, Dan still chucks several dozen meteors at it and laughs as all his hard work becomes reduced to ash Never change, Daniel
The perfect send off for "Cities: Skylines 1". Building a "good functional city" challenge, succeeding, and then blasting off to "Cities: Skylines 2" in a rocket ship, watching a swarm of meteors level your final project to the tune of Country Roads.
What a perfect RT ending to John City. He's gone from trying to memes, back to making an effort while meming. Every city has ended in disaster one way or another. John City is the most successful city, but alas, all cities come to a Country Roads end eventually. RIP John City, you've done well. O7

this was amazing. Such a callback to your original cities Skylines stuff. I actually almost cried with joy.
This country roads ending was the most impactful because I really felt a strong emotional connection to this city
Wow, part 2 of a city skyline video? My expectations are now high. If the next video is not a part 3, I will force RT to play a rhythm game.
"A man that knows no rhythm plays guitar hero"
Welp, time to rhytm
Which one though is the question
A man with no rytyem plays "Hi-Fi Rush"
Hey how do we tell him
He was so close to beating the game and reaching 90,000 citizens, just a few minutes more and he would’ve surpassed a large portion of players!
Geez, the ending brought back so many pleasant memories
This hits different after watching rt actually make a functional city, and seeing him finally just, free himself with country roads is, something
I can't wait to see this city prosper (I'm gonna edit this when I finish it) Edit: that was such a sad ending
