- #dairyfarm #cowgirls #cowvideos Y’all know it hasn’t been the most productive week of farming for us but this time we actually got a few things accomplished ☺️😆.
You are an excellent presenter! Your videos are more informative than any classroom
I always laugh when you are explaining everything you guys are doing , i think i speak for all of your fans PLEASE PLEASE dont apologize for showing us anything and everything you do , because we love watching and learning
You are a great teacher. all full of coffee every day with an energetic delivery on all your videos. LOL Many of us only know our milk comes from cows. you do a fantastic job teaching us all the daily chores necessary to raise healthy animals.
Good morning Tay, a cup of coffee and watching your videos has become my morning routine. So very informative and awesome 😊
I love watcing the day to day "goings on" of the farm. Thanks for taking us along.
Trick to backing a wagon is , if you want it to go right turn steering wheel to the right
to go left steer to the left, just the oppisate of backing a trailer 👍
Your a very talented young farmer
Aw thank you, that’s so awesome!
Another great vid! Stay safe
Thanks, you too!
I've never seen a bottle/calf feeder like that. I bet the barn smells good, bedding with sawdust. Thanks!
Good job! Hard worker
Really enjoyed your video
So glad! Thank you 😀
Thanks for another awesome video Taylor, the way you two work together is great. Glad you got the wrapper sorted looks better than before. Thanks again for taking the time to make these videos, take care and stay safe 👍 😊.
Brent would be better to trade in that wrapper & purchased automatic one wrapping over 1000 bales with them handles is tough work great video Taylor 😉
Thanks
Hello Miss Taylor, thanks for another wonderful video!!😊
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!!☺️
Milk her for the calves here in michigan milk replacer is 90.00.a bag
That was our way of thinking, the good stuff is well over 100 around here 😳
You two always seem to work so good together.unless you don't video that
What a great helper to Brent
GO TAY GO!!
I see he has fluid film..thats good stuff!!
Always fun to watch a video from Taylor. Thanks for sharing your chores with us. Best wishes, Deb
Thanks for watching!
U ROCK Tay... 🎸!!!!
always like your explanations on how stuff works. I knew how you would keep the tainted milk out of the tank, I'm sure a lot of people didn't know. If you start putting out videos where you aren't repairing something, we won't believe you're on a real farm!! 😁 Can't be a farm if you're not fixing something!! Great video Taylor!
Beautiful calves. That Jersey has potential. I want ONE!
Thanks so much! I know she’s a nice looking little calf!
When we had a cow with mastitis ( spelling?)we had to milk her by hand to get it out of her teets...hand milking makes a person appreciate milking machines! LOL
I’ve had to do that a few times and I agree 😂
Yeah you hand milk a few times and you really appreciate the vacuum pumps and how much work farmers used to do to get that milk.
Always a great video. The bucket with multi spots for more the one calf to drink at a time i had never seen one.
Hello Taylor, Brent enjoyed your video have a great day.
Thanks! You too!
Thank-you, Taylor, for another engaging video! Always appreciate your authentic portrayal of daily farm life. 😊 Glad to see the wrapper back in operation! Also, wondering if the vet had any opinion about whether milk with staph could affect heifer calves when they would freshen? Thinking there might be some risk. 😊
It’s our pleasure to share them with y’all! Great question our vet said that it was perfectly safe for use feeding the replacement heifers and that it will not affect their future lactation.
Hi Tay, it's always good&educational how chores are done on a farm of any kind. I appreciate what you do for the cows&Brent. I cant imagine how all the chores would get done without both of u...and it wouldn't be safe eithr.
You really have the calfs looking fabulous and healthy Taylor. Well done 👏 and thanks for all your lovely videos. You and Brent rock. God bless and regards Patrick Brazil. 🙏
I 4eally miss my days on the farm. I often wish I was back on the farm doing field work and milking.
It gets in your blood!
Check McMaster-Carr for sprockets. Off hand, it looks like the size they may stock.
Another great episode Tay. Farmers have to be part mechanic part engineer, part fabricator, part carpenter and a lot of other skills I’ve missed! Love the way you and Brent work together and pick on each other. 👏👍🐄
Awesome video nice job at getting the wrapper fixed!
Thanks so much 👍🏻. It’s going to be great to get back in the fields and test it out!
Hi Taylor. Farmers
Almanac has Maine having colder temperatures and higher than normal snowfall for 23 and 24 winter. Not something you wanted to hear but something to prepare for. Love seeing the little ones. Say hi to Brent and everyone. Stay dry with the rain coming. Enjoy all your videos and shorts.
I can put a 4-wheel wagon anywhere I want to as long as it's hitch to a tractor. If it's on the pick up and I can't see the wagontongue I'm outta luck
☕🍩 Good Morning Taylor! I see 12K in your future! You have done such a awesome job in your videos! Keep up the GREAT WORK!
Hi, I feel so fortunate to have such wonderful viewers it has been an amazing journey!! Thank you so much for your kindness and support 😊
Your an amazing person 🎉😊
Great content today Taylor, shame you had to get a new keyway broached, probably cost more than the price of the sprocket. I think I'd ' ve got some key steel sized for the larger keyway and ground half of it down to the smaller keyway size... lol.
Thanks so much! It actually was pretty reasonable considering. 😂 that’s some farmer thinking right there 😉☺️
always amazed how these two have found people with the necessary skills to keep things going...putting a new keyway in the sprocket. yay for the vet tho feeding that milk to the calfs would seem to infect them. ok i am not a vet.
you 2 seem to get things done together very well way to go
Thank you, I feel lucky to work with someone who is easy to get along with!
Love all your videos
I’m glad, thank you!
30 years ago Central Tractor would have had that sprocket on the shelf.
Unlike anything-but-tractor supply today.
That was a cool explanation of the cow psychology you have to use to make things work smoothly.
As for me, it's Rottweiler psychology that helps things go smoothly. 😂
When I was on the farm, our cows always went into their own stalls. They went into the same ones every time. It was fun. Didn't have to do much during milking. Sure do miss farm life. Those are some cute calves. A little rambunctious when getting ready to eat. Glad you got your wrapper fixed. Doesn't feeding the calves with the milk from the cow with mastitis affect the calves? I remember we just threw the milk away if a cow had mastitis. Have a great day, keep farming and God Bless
Your not supposed to feed high scc milk to heifer calves that your keeping as replacement it is ok to feed it to bull calves
We talked extensively about it with our vet and he said it poses no risk for the calves, thank you for your concern though!
learning with u
Glad yall got the wrapper fixed and the mastitus figured out!! Having never farmed, I appreciate you explaining what ur doing and why! Stay safe out there!!
Enjoyed your video. I think I would have had a new key machined rather than a new keyway.
Backing those trailors.i use mirrors watch front trailor tires.
Remote controlled mirrors help.
👍
👍🏻😀
Always something to fix on the farm. I have not seen a clear McCormick style bucket before, that is nice you can see how she is doing. I had to back wagons in a shed pretty often, luckily I could use a narrow front end Super M most of the time, using a 4 wheel drive truck is not as easy. Your calves look great and are high energy that is a good thing. Hope you all stay safe and healthy Tay.
I appreciate you going into detail on dairy farming! I raised beef cattle. Glad you got the wrapper fixed, Taylor. Broching that keyway in the sprocket is about a 10 minute job at the most. I did a lot of work in a machine shop years ago . ( When Lassie was a pup and I had hair. LoL !!!). God bless you all!!! Eddy
I’m glad to hear it! Must be a interesting machine that cut out the keyway I think that would be fun to see! 😅 you’re only as old as ya feel right! Have a wonderful day!
@@tayfarmsقدطال شوق والانتظار ياصاحبة جمال.🥀💔😔
COOL I have never seen a calf feeder as the one you are using. Sure makes it easier.
Yes I saw the national weather and another tropical storm is coming your way. Hope no flooding happens.
Good to see the wrapper repaired and working better than before.
God bless you and Brent the rest of this fall.
Thanks for showing us the connection of the test bucket Taylor. All our clusters are built in to our milk line so we don't change them. If you could show us the mechanics of hooking ip your clusters I'd find that interesting too.
Don't worry about the breakdowns - that's farming
Hi Taylor,
No matter what you show us in your videos they are always interesting. I really like to see the views of your barn and attached buildings. Those spacious stalls provide a lot of comfort for your girls.
When we toured Maine a few years ago we saw a lot of barns that were actually attached to the house. Do you know if they were built that way to withstand the rough winters? Just curious. Glad that your wrapper is finally repaired. Great video . Keep smiling, keep farming.🚜🐄😉
I missed you 🌹🌹💕 so much ❤ u
We had to get out of registered Holstien dairy cows in 1979 And we bucket milked 48 cows no pipeline. The world sped up and we got left behind. It was expand or quit. The milk prices were bad. I look at your operation and dream of what could have been. There is a future and you guys are the proof. That bail clamp is cool.
Good Day and coffee time ...great video like always :)
☺️ thanks so much for joining us!
your welcome@@tayfarms

I like the way you wear your seatbelt in a field but Brett don't wear when going down the road LOL
😅
Taylor, I first noticed your cuffs on your under shirt , that is a great idea.
Where to put all the hay...what a great problem to have. I hate backing up those hay wagons, the front wheel steer always messes me up and I try to do what Brent does, set up so can just drive forward. Great work and glad to see things going right.
Nice, you're milking with a Surge Pacemaker system.
Bale wrapper back in action and by the sound of it better than before.
This was action packed. I need to take a break.
Productive cow form and owner
9:39 When doing maintenance it's always a pain in the rear because places just don't keep parts on hand that aren't fast moving anymore
Afternoon Taylor
Glad to hear you figured out the mastitis . The hefiers are getting big! It’s good to see all that hay I think you’re going to need it all ! Glad that you found a new motor and able to get a new keyway machined so quickly ! Be safe and keep up the great work, be safe ! 😊
Hi there!!! They are growing so fast ☺️. We were definitely lucky to find people who would work on it as quickly as possible, thank you for watching and commenting!
A bit later watching this instalment Taylor been busy T B testing another informative video with good factual content
In UK we can not move or sale animals without a clean T B test
Always good to watch
Stewart!!!!!
That was achievable to do and they did make a difference, thank you Taylor farms have a good rest of your day.
Ms Tay, you are the Best. Very enjoyable and action packed video. Interesting to note is you live in Maine and I live in Maryland but the lingo is very much the same, although the accent is very different, especially Brent’s. I thought it would be much different.
I have never met anyone that could back up a four wheeled trailer. It’s not even worth trying. I think the devil made the four wheeled trailers. As always, thanks again for the wonderful video. Have a safe and wonderful week. Please be safe around all that equipment and take care.
You look good driving that Dodge😁😁🤭🤭. Just messing with you youngin another great video young lady, thank you. Everyone in Northeast Arkansas says hey 🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️⚘👍🐄🐄🐄🚜
Carful those are fighting’ words😉. ☺️
You crack me up young lady 😁
Looking good be safe
Brent scares me when he drives.
Great video Tay, the calves are looking good.😊💕
Seems like whenever you go to any kind of dealer, car, tractor, semi etc. if they don’t have a part in stock it’s always week and a half to two weeks getting it. Certain online stores can have it on the doorstep the next day or so. Dealerships need to move into the modern age.
This is one of my favorite videos to watch Tay ur awesome dude I just found ur channel when i was watchin som other youtube farmers keep up the good work love the videos keep em commin n keep keeping it real dude ✌️
It sucks that the wrapping pump worked because if you did it three more times you would have been ready to work on a NASCAR pit crew
😂 it was starting to feel like it!
Nice looking calves
What?what were you talkin about???
Hardy har har, just kidding, and another great video! Thank you Taylor!!!
😅 thanks for watching!
Can You do a short segment of cows coming in to be milked from outside. Used to be fun watching cows come in and pick Their spots when I was at My Grandparents farm.
Enjoy ur videos. Altho retired i can relate
Glad you like them!
I was always told with cows like that you should not feed the calves the milk they could end up having a tendency to have stematic when they come into the milking was told this by a vet when I was farming I know all vets are not the same day I have their own opinions
So the other morning at 330am on my way to work I was driving past the dairy farm just down the street from my house when I saw a cow in the road, then there was another then 30 more. Yep all the cows got out. I stopped at the farmers house and let them know. this morning as I was driving past the same dairy farm all the cows were in but there was a large pig in the road. Not sure what’s going on lol. The small dairy farm sells their milk to Cabot
Oh my sounds like they’ve been having a bad week!! 🙂
If the cow has that dease can't the calf's catch it?
Actually no
What are you going to do with the cow after the calves outgrow the need for her milk?
Great question, we plan to raise another group after these calves reach about 6mo. In between that time she will likely be feeding calves that are born over winter and whatever is leftover I will probably take home and feed my families pigs with. They love milk!!
That cow could clear up on her own you said no chunks and not watery so being you had a wet year its probably environmental and could easily clear up in time !
Old safety man talking here but do you wear hearing protection in the milk room. It seems loud in there. You are young you need to protect your hearing.
your so beautiful
Don't give that milk to replacement heifer calves 😮
Our vet assured us that it will in no way harm or affect the calves in their future lactations, thanks for your concern!
@@tayfarms the school of thought here is not to feed it to heifers .
All our replacements have powder to cut the johnes risk also 🙄
@@richardmorgan5785 All I can say is our vet is a very knowledgeable cow man who is on staff on most farms in our area from 1 cow to 2,500 cow farms. So I’ll definitely take his word for it
Hello from Carpenter Wyoming i wish there was more women like u are awesome woman
Taylor, do you have a fund me eddrress ?
Why are you keeping the one cow that could infect all the other ones?
The girl with the bacteria problem, does it ever go away ?
Great question, short answer would be no. But it’s kinda complicated; they can develop a lining in their udder which prevents the bacteria from getting into their milk but the issue is, they will eventually have that lining breakdown and let the bacteria through again. Basically they never really get over it but they can develop kind of a short term immunity. That being said you would have to test them every day to make sure the bacteria wasn’t getting through so it’s really a difficult situation

Has anyone told you how pretty you are this morning?
Is that hay that was baled wet, is it heating up?
Yes the bales that we were going to wrap are pretty warm inside but the girls love them and are gobbling them right up. Must be like a warm bowl of oatmeal to them I guess!☺️
Still no cable ties on the hydaulic hoses? You need to learn how to Backup a trailer 😉
Oh don’t you worry I know how😄
That is a wagon with a steering front axle- difficult but not impossible to back up.
Damn thats one noisy room.
yeah dont eat bacon ham pork
Where is your husband or boyfriend? What? You going to work on the farm your whole life with nothing else? Come on Taylor. You are already 24, what is next for you?
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
