I always love the military hierarchy in this scene. The no-nonsense Captain, the Colonel as an eccentric and slightly senile but steadfast and intelligent commanding officer, and of course the indomitable and endearing Sgt. Tibbs. It may have taken him a bit to get motivated, but his youth, faith, and loyalty to his superiors was unquestionable.
A bit of military hierarchy comedy always goes down well. This scene is very stereotypical but its something that particularly the British and the Americans having been doing to each other for decades and it is hilarious! 😂 Promotes a friendly healthy rivalry too 😇
The twilight bark leading up to this scene has to be some of the best atmospheric settings in any Disney movie hands down. Always spooked me as a kid watching at night, great memories.
People say Tibbs is a coward and a goof. But honest to god that cat is one of the bravest characters in the series. And patient, and reliable. He was scared shitless yet he still saved the puppies. Scaring jasper and Horace and being front and center in protecting them even when he was about to be killed. He's like Mrs. Brisby. Scared out of his mind but he still went through with it. Talk about courageous.
Thank you so much from mentioning her. I knew Tibbs reminded me of someone, but didn't know who. Those are the best kind of characters. Deathly afraid of almost everything, yet not letting it stop them from getting things done.
I love these guys, especially Tibbs, he’s a hero in his own right and how these animals can survive in a barn with no people is amazing. although the humans could’ve been around but this movie focused more on the animals since they were the real heroes. Such a great scene.
Says that stupid rude dog, interrupting Sergeant Tibbs earlier when he was trying to tell him it's an alert and talking down to him like he's the stupid one.
When I was a kid, I'd watch this with my Grandmother and Aunt at their house at night, we would have the lights in the house turned off. And this scene was so chilling, there was little to no music during this portion of the movie and just non reverberate voices. Not to mention the dark barn. Ah chilling good times. If there's ever a chance the Cruella Sequel is about the original plot, and if it were up to me, I'd like to have Captain, Sargeant Tibbs and Colonel in the barn during the twilight bark with no music just voices, crickets chirping and dead silence.😄😄😄😏
Sergeant Tibbs was my favorite character of the movie. Very helpful and funny, and even if he was terrified out of his mind, he still helped the puppies. Also, Disney FINALLY put a cat as a good guy. Almost every other feline is evil while dogs are good.
No, Figaro was the very first Disney cat as a good guy. Though, Sgt Tibbs was the first one since Pinocchio. Then you’ve got Oliver (from Oliver and Company), and of course, The Aristocats. The list of some good cats in Disney films. Then you have Lucifer (from Cinderella). Cheshire Cat (Alice in Wonderland). The Siamese Twins (Lady and the Tramp) were either evil or sinister.
@@TrelliessRose Yeah, but I meant through Walt Disney the person's lifetime. The Aristocats came after his death. The only other good cat, as was already mentioned, was Figaro, but he was quite bratty and the movie still had another evil cat, even if that one was anthropomorphic.
Rip j pat O'Malley, thurl Ravenscroft and David frankham the voice of captain the horse 🐎 colonel the sheepdog and Tibbs the cat 🐈 from 101 dalmatians 1961.

He's one of my favourite characters my favourite part is when he directs the Captain to lick Jasper and Horace 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I don't know why anyone would say that. There's nothing cowardly or goofy about him.
Tibbs has courage like Neville Longbottom
I know! HE was so strong! I LOVE HIM!!!

I just simply assumed that the humans were asleep for the night, especially given how farmers stereotypically rise up very early
Tibbs and the Colonel were my favorite part of the movie.
Me too
Same here.
The part when Colonel thinks he hears "15 spotted puddles stolen" is so funny.
2:09 "15 spotted puddles stolen, oh balderdash!"
😂🤣
Says that stupid rude dog, interrupting Sergeant Tibbs earlier when he was trying to tell him it's an alert and talking down to him like he's the stupid one.
Better double check it, Colonel

This was the most underrated trio in Disney history haha
One of my all time favorite scenes from the greatest Walt Disney films of all time
Sergeant Tibbs was my favorite character of the movie. Very helpful and funny, and even if he was terrified out of his mind, he still helped the puppies. Also, Disney FINALLY put a cat as a good guy. Almost every other feline is evil while dogs are good.

Don't forget Oliver & Company too
@@darwenrover8910and don't forget about Pete he's a villainous cat too.
I love this scene! Brings back childhood memories!
The colonel dog voice actor also plays the Elephant in the Jungle Book who was also a Colonel and obsessed with winning the Victoria Cross
As a cat lover, I love that a cat was included in this.
And one of the most pivotal characters in the film!
@@Penguins34455 - She is black and her name is Kodiak.
I do love this old animation it's like art with animation over the top of it.
I’d say these three are a credit to the British military. Into action immediately, no fear, competent and efficient.
Oh but there was fear... but courage still won the day

I love how The Captain, Sergeant Tibbs and the Colonel all helped out in locating the puppies.

One of the few movies I loved as a kid that still holds up, even the cruella movie was pretty decent
Thurl Ravenscroft as Captain
David Frankham as Sergeant Tibbs
J. Pat O'Malley as Colonel
2:09 - “15 spotted puddles stolen, oh balderdash!” Funniest part and proof that Sergeant Tibbs is much smarter than the Colonel.😂😂😂
The Colonel probably was as smart or smarter than Tibbs but has gone slightly senile in his old age
I love his barks and howls 1:14, 1:35, 2:24 and also when he clears his throat 1:13, 1:34, 2:23
I love the nod to this in the Cruella movie when she turns Hellman Hall into Hell Hall
"Yes sir.... righto sir... right away sir "
Sergeant Tibbs sounding a little bit more like a private
maybe was recently promoted in here, hence why the answers
Rip j pat O'Malley, thurl Ravenscroft and David frankham the voice of captain the horse 🐎 colonel the sheepdog and Tibbs the cat 🐈 from 101 dalmatians 1961.
David Frankham is still here.
J Pat O'Malley also voiced Jasper
The voice for Sergeant Tibbs is still alive and well
It like when Colonel says “Now look here Tibbs what’s the idea of barging at this hour of the night” 0:47 and “hold on Sargent do you hear that…sounds like an alert” 0:52
I like when the Captain says “Barking Signal it’s an alert. Report to the Colonel at once” 0:23
I named my cat after Sgt. Tibbs.
The Colonel is one great characters in Disney Animation.
Three of my favorite characters from 101 dalmatians 1961
Rip Thur Ravenscoft you will be missed
He’s with J. Pat O’Malley in that big barn in the heavenly sky
0:12 it's an alert
I love these animals they soooooo funny
The voice of Colonel is the same voice as Jasper. J. Pat O'malley
I laugh so hard I couldn't breath on 0:18 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

The Colonel reminds me the Bearded Collie my aunt and my uncle used to have
I thought the Colonel said "I'm the devil" until I heard it again and yeah, I was being stupid for not knowing that he said "on the double" lol
The Colonel is hilarious.
Agreed
I know right. It's hilarious how he mispronounces words and misinterprets the news as "15 spotted puddles stolen."
Every time I walk with my nephews I always say “on the double on the double “. They always tell their mom we’re going to rescue some puppies.
Captain is the best
Colonel here is colonel hathi in the jungle book
2:09 Colonel: 15 spotted puddles stolen? Aw balderdash...
Colonel and Colonel Hathi xD two Colonel character's done by the same voice
