    For his mom to allow the silverback to interact with it's infant child, at such a young age, displays the amount of trust she has in her silverback mate.

      no what you should understand that we great apes homo sapiens are also animals and nothing more.
      Therefore any abuse and murder of other mammals is no different than killing homo sapiens for some selfish gain.

      He looks kind of old. 24 is young though, they usually live 35-40 years. It's that damn human food and atmosphere, lack of exercise like the ones in the jungle get. He's in the spirit world now ✨🤍🕊️

    It’s almost like mom knew she had to let him be close with dad now because his time was limited. Very unusual that she allowed this. How special a Silverback he must have been ❤️💔

      This is the first video I've seen of this troop and just saw he passed in the comments.
      Am blown away by the gentleness of Subira. What a legacy - first time I've seen any Silverback focus on - and be allowed to be close to - a tiny baby.
      RIP, Gentle Giant Subira

    When I usually see a newborn, the mother is not far away and tends to keep the baby away from the father. the fact that he can interact like this makes me think that he is genuinely gentle and she trusts him💙

  • @shellos8
    @shellos8 5 месяцев назад +112

    Well, usually the mother doesn't allow Dad to physically interact with their baby. Not until they're 2 or 3 years old. This is rather unusual and very special. ❤

    • @leahsyl81
      @leahsyl81 5 месяцев назад +14

      Yup, you’re right. Usually the male has more than one female that he mates with so the females tend to protect the baby and keep the male away. But I’ve been seeing quite a few stories of father/child relationships and it’s so beautiful to see 🦍

      No the female doesn't allow the infant baby by the Father for about 6 months,then she will let him touch the baby while she is right there ready take him away if she feels he's being to rough. She feed the baby till 2 to 3 years of age. Think that's what you meant

    • @kells1784
      @kells1784 5 месяцев назад +9

      No, the silverback is allowed to interact a little from 6 months onwards. Usually playing is after 1 year old, not 2 or 3 years old. That's not correct. That's too long.
