DIY Marble Backdrop For Food And Product Photography

  • In today's tutorial, I am teaching you how to make a DIY marble backdrop that you can use for your food, product and still life photography.
    Here are the materials used in this tutorial:

    3) Thick plastic card (library card or credit card) or squeegee
    4) Scissors

    I did mine the same way :-) Sticky back plastic FTW! I have a black leather one that I made that way too.

      It’s the best, right? I love how I can get so many different looks just by getting new adhesive papers.

      Hi Brittany, I am so glad you enjoyed the video. I bought the pink plates from Ikea. I adore them and have had these for 4 years.

      Amrita Bhortake Thank you so much! Someone was explaining that it’s not a good idea to use plates or dinnerware that has shine to it and that matte or ceramic is best for food photography. What are your thoughts? Do you recommend using matte dinnerware?

      Yes, that is actually my preference too when it comes to food and still life photography. That’s why I love this pink plate so much. But it is not always possible to find matte plates and when that happens, I play with the lighting to reduce glare. Hope that helps!
