I just took delivery of an s6 with sft40. I debated between 5 and 8 amp and went with 8. After this video I think I should of saved the $1.78 and went with the 5
Maybe but end of the day you can choose the 50% mode grouping (9) if you don't see much of a difference. I can see the difference in person but hard to see on camera. But yeah it's finishing returns past 5A.

But I have a question: in your old video with the 5A flashlight, the test result showed more candela than your new video with the 8A flashlight. Which do you think would be the most accurate result for both? Best regards!
This is the PM1.F1 @ 8A. Old video you're referring to might be the NM1.F1 @5A which I measured around the same 600m range. The PM1.F1 however produces twice the light at similar range.
I have on order a S8 5amp with a SFT-25R LED. I considered the 8 amp but just thought it would become hot very quickly and become useless. You know the power of the sun for 11 seconds then drops to below a high level very quickly. I did order a C8+ and a M1 with 8 amps each, both running SFT-25R LED, got to give those 8 amp burners a go.
It's a tough one lol. But I don't use the 100% mode for longer than a minute anyway so that show I justified the 8A. Either way they both get insanely hot if you leave them on for too long. 35% is more reasonable! Can't wait to check out the SFT-25R version...
All they have to do to sell a bunch more of those than they do is just change the aesthetics of the whole thing. Do something with the name and get rid of that basic knurling that’s in the middle which has been on flashlights for so long that it’s just completely boringand then everything else as long as it doesn’t have a rubber button is gonna be a killer flashlight.
I think so too. I don't know much about Simon's operations/plant - other than he buys from suppliers and assembles them in their warehouse. I'm not sure if they machine any of the hosts either. But I figure he doesn't have the manpower and R&D that larger companies such as Nitecore has. And he also manages to keep the prices down to almost wholesale price.
I just picked up the S8 8 amp with the SFT-25R incredible hotspot super throw. Impressive!

8 amps is the wrong current for the emitter, it will never make the ranks of a high quality Dorcy brand flashlight, Dorcy is king 👑
It's to completely max it out. it's not the 'best' for a general use light.
