Be prepared for that brother. Make sure you rock that qna moment. Inshallah, May Allah forgive us and make ud prophets neighbours in jannah by his murcy for sure because we cannot reach that rank, but we must try our best
Alhumdulillah, i have been trying to follow prophetic diet as well but our prophet didnt eat all of them everyday but sparingly when available, the day he had milk he didnt eat meat, and no milk and bread together, ghee and meat not together. For months it was only dates and water, peace be upon him.
Baarak Allahu feek for making this visual representation of the Rasool's food - peace and blessings of Allah upon him. It is easier to understand the diet of the Messenger (s.a.w) presented in this manner. There is one feature of the diet of the Rasool (s.a.w) and his companions (r.anhum) from what I have read that many of us overlook. They didn't have 3 meals every single day. So the Prophets of Allah would eat at the most one meal a day, alayhim al salaam. And the sahaba, radhiya Allahu anhum, would eat at the most 2 meals a day. And this is possibly the maximum and not even their regular meal plan. And that a fire would not even be lit in the Rasool's house for 3 months and they would have only dates and milk. Also, there is this aspect about not eating unless they were hungry, and not eating their fill. Given our experience today, with high caloric or high protein diets, and just eating constantly , I think it is as important to highlight this feature of the Prophetic diet - to not eat constantly but rather to give the digestive system a break.
You can also include how Prophet Muhammad pbuh was sitting when he was eating , he was sitting on the floor on right leg and left leg up pressing his stomach which prevents eating more
Thank you for the video. It was interesting watching this, especially your point about the energy density of Sunnah foods which I've also noticed in my research on Sunnah foods. It seems the desired and recommended way to eat is a small amount/volume of food which has a high caloric density. I find this very interesting because the high volume-low calorie density way of eating is pushed at us in particular for health and weight loss i.e. large bowls of salad. But from the sources there was very little in the way of vegetables in the Sunnah diet (pumpkin and cucumbers are technically classed as fruit) especially the green leafy variety that is so popular today in health circles. It seems that dairy, red meat, fruits and honey were the main categories of food in the Arabian Peninsula at the time and that is what basically comprised the Sunnah diet. Thank you again - it was nice seeing the meals laid out in the day like this.
Good points, but one thing I would take into consideration is the life style of the Arabian peninsula at the time. Majority of people now are secondary, if they were to eat in this manner over a period of time I'm sure they will gain fat. I do like the idea of consuming fruit as your main source of carbs, but am not sure how that would affect body composition. At the end of the day it's about out calories in vs calories out. jAk for watching I'm Glade you enjoyed the video.
