- The Prophet broke his fast with Saweeq so, as promised, here is a recipe for the Sunnah meal As-Saweeq you can easily make at home. Cook with the Imam Sh. Yaser Birjas.

Samna baladi (سمنة بلدي)
Description: Egyptian ghee. This is made from water buffalo milk and is very white. The ghee or (samnah baladi) is made by melting the butter and using just the clarified oil, and the butter (zebdah baladi) by hardening the ghee into round white balls. The residue, the remaining solids are called mortah which are served as an appetizer.

What are the quantities of the ingredients?
Dates blended. Whole Wheat flour, roasted to golden brown. Ghee. Add ghee and dates to flour. Knead to a soft dough. Roll into bite sized balls. Serve.
