- Host Jennifer Vickery of ONE ONE 7 TV caught up with mega rock band SKILLET, recently at Warner Records for a sneak peak at their newest release RISE. After extensive touring behind their last album AWAKE, Skillet fans across the world have been chomping at the bit for the release of this album. We talked with the band about the meaning behind the songs, and what it really takes to put on a Skillet show. With millions of fans around the world and countless stages played, Skillet remains grounded in their faith, and continue to be an amazing witness. The interviewer did a good job of including all of the members by asking specific questions to each member. In most group interviews, if the interviewer asks only general questions, then one of the members inevitably ends up doing all of the talking (in Skillet's case John).
ive never missed one of their concerts in indiana :) i got saved at their first concert i ever went to. they are truly amazing and inspirational

to all of their songs i fell in love with the band because of how much the songs related to me and how i felt as a person, and how i could cope with my problems. The songs "Hero, Would it Matter, Dead Inside, Whispers in the dark, awake and alive, and never surrender" were my first of many really important songs to me. Skillet has helped me with my life and reach out to different bands such as Metallica, Three Days Grace, Rise Against, and Shinedown. After their goals for teenagers i cried
I honestly love Skillet and their music :) I know I'm to young to be thinking about suicide and all that shit but their music helped keep me alive and I love it even if I'm not depressed :) I can't wait to see them 8-11-13!!!! :D

This was a great interview.
This album is pretty much the entire hardcore genre, releasing anger through lyrics, but yet having really uplifting lyrics!
I got vip tickets to see them in Chicago next week and I can't friggin wait.
Even if I don't like the new album skillet will still be favorite band and this right is an example of why!

1/2 Me being a teenager it was kind of weird for me NOT to like music. I never had my own style, and just went along with whatever my family had on the radio or whatever. I thought my life was horrible, i didnt know how do deal with anything, and i just hated it. Then the song "Monster" came on to the radio and i fell in love with it because i showed how much i was angry at myself and how i took it out on other people, and i just HAD to find the band that sang it, i found Skillet. Listening

I Have to say, this band has more than affected me...its made me who I am
i'm having a really hard time...being a soldier in the Israeli army. supposedly a very humanitarian one. yet i'm a pacifist! every day i feel dead inside and the only time i somehow can barely make through, the only time when i remember some fragment of heart is when i listen to music. Skillet truly is a godsend. surrounded, crashed, torn and alone They are my proof, my believe, my faith that there is still hope for me...i'm not dead yet. i may be broken, worn out but i...still have hope
