- This video takes a look at Cardiac Preload. We break the basic concepts down into simple, short animations. Including;
- A simple definition of Preload
- What a child's slingshot can teach us about the cardiac muscle
- How muscle fibers react to being stretched
- The Frank-Starling Law of the Heart
- Factors affecting Preload, including ventricular rate, intra-thorasic pressure, central venous pressure (CVP), and fluid administration.

Another great video to simplified the complexes. Thanks a lot!
You're very welcome!
In fact, oversimplified.
Loved it
Glad you liked it :)
glad I stumble upon this before my revalida, this was such a nice discussion!!
Glad it was helpful! :)
my new favourite medical channel!
Many thanks!
I am an EMT student. thank you for this video. I plan to watch more of your videos. Keep up the great work!!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Very nice and easy to understand. Great video.
This video is fire
thanks Rajan :)

Thank u so much sir..it's really helpful for me 👍
your very welcome :)
you should make more videos! they're amazing!!
Many thanks Sheilla :) I'm working on more videos but animations a slow process!
Great videos. Just subscribed.
Awesome, thank you!
Thank you.....
You're welcome!
Hello and thank you very much for this video. Deeply Appreciated. I have a question:if blood pressure depends on cardiac output times resistance. then cardiac output depends on stroke volume and rate of the heart. Then if the rate of the heart increases, it will decrease the stroke volume(decreasing preload). On the other hand, increasing the heart rate increases the cardiac output. Then I cam confused with this dual effect of increasing heart rate. I would much appreciate it if you help me to understand.
Hi Mohsen, the interaction between preload and HR is quite complicated. A very fast HR will definitely have a negative effect on preload and consequently BP, for example, if the HR increases from 65 to 200 bpm (as you might see in SVT).
A moderate rise in HR will still allow sufficient time for the ventricles to fill and will have a net positive effect on BP, a slight reduction in preload being offset by the benefits of the increased rate. Hope that makes sense?
@@thehumanbodyoversimplified5381 yea we just only need to mention about the ventricular filling time that probably took a big part in HR - SV equation hehe CMIIW
SUSCRIBED.amazing contentttt
Thanks Riane :)
