I swear I've thought of this before. Instead of a spring causing tension have a liner. Kind of a mix breed of a regular plunge lock and the button actuated liner lock of the smock or Craig Brown FSD. Ingenious. Thanks for sharing Jim.
Agreed. They have a built in brand for hundreds of years, not exploiting it is like throwing out money. Get a meeting with top 5 companies there and start a community. They'd make a killing quickly with very little investment.
While it’s definitely more stonewash than mirror, I’m a big fan of Reate’s bright stonewash finish. When you catch the blade at the right angle, you get the mirror finish under the tumbling. Just got an Ohlone Goat with that blade finish and it’s amazing.
Changed my post. WD107 Remette is one of my favorites. At $325; It looks more substantial. I like the closed door comparison. The only thing I can say about reversable knive it appeals to everyone. I'd prefer Right for right and left for left. Simplifies the design. The blade, larger size, ;limited production and your reccomendation make it interesting. Spoke to Jorge who steered me to White Mountain knives. Wish the choil was a tad larger.
In terms of design details, I still prefer the Remette; for instance, the relief around the checkered button, chamfer along the scales, pattern milled into bolsters, thumb studs, pocket clip, lack of ambi filler plate, and jimping rather than “bastards” on the spine. They just have to make it a little thicker… maybe some protein shakes and a couple hundred squats would help😂
I have a few Spanish fixed blades but have never seen a folder of that quality from them. Very impressive.

Utopía is my BEST knive!!! I have 32/200. Congrats for this review!!!!
I live in Spain and they make great knives at affordable prices. I'm always surprised that they don't export more.

Does anyone know where that bastard was manufactured?
China made, Spanish design
You should start putting g links for the knives my brother
Name of the Brand should be deep enough to act as jimping...
Spanish steel, toledo steel and all thats been a thing since before Rome was starting. Has a long history with good blades.
Oh yeah I remember when Rome was starting, that was a tough time but really I wouldn't trade it for anything, we liked to have fun.

Wayward cutlery is the company. They make WESN I see. Super good lookin knife though. pretty sure its made in china with that price point.
Wayward is awesome I have a fixed blade hand made by them and it's 🤌
Wayward are a part of the team from Bastards Knives, not the company. There are a great team behind the company.
I've had my eye on this but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I might have to.
Well I just fixed that... Have one coming!
Where can you order?

They won't ship to the US? It's rejecting my shipping address.
