Thanks starlo! been a mad fan of yours for many years, I have had the previous generation Sedona for over 6 years now! have a lot of fond memories with that reel. Thank you for making enjoyable and easy videos to watch.
Starlo I love the fact that you do reviews on reels that are affordable to people looking to get into fishing and the everyday fisho Keep them coming thank you and i have done all 3 a long time ago
All done Starlo. Have had sedonas for years now and still all working perfectly. Now my son is starting to use them. Thanks for the hours of viewing pleasure and sharing your knowledge.
Great Video. I really wish I could find a video covering the differences in the Sedona line (FJ vs FI). I’ve searched all over the interwebs, and NADA! I’ve got a 5000 Sedona FI on my shore/surf rig, and a 2500 Sedona FJ on my inshore/ boat rod. (Florida, USA fishing) I wish someone like you would unpack the differences and/or benefits of each in the Sedona line of products. You do a great job of explaining things.
All done Starlo. Sending a very big thank you for for sharing your wealth of knowledge and your over all approach to your content. It’s very refreshing and worthy of loads. Ore subscribers.
Another bloke who is right handed and uses his left to wind, I thought I was the only one 😂 when are coming back to TV, I learned a lot from your input, tight lines mate and stay safe, Paul
How Steve, as a long time fan of yours since 1987, I have: 1. subscribed to your channel, 2. given your video a like, 3. subscribed to your newsletter and 4. left you a comment indicating I have done all of the above. Love your work, Frank :)
All done Starlo just had to like and comment, I've been getting the newsletter for a few months already three steps completed:D I have a Sedona 5000 on my beach stick, it has never let me down ever in over 5 years
Shimano are putting higher end technology into their mid range products. Example Stella tech into their stradics. I still have the white colour stradic and an older sedona which is a 4000 size.
All done to all three. Have been a fan since watching you back in the early days Australia is lucky to have a passionate fishing writer who understands fishos
I just picked a Sedona 2500 up for my 6"6 Johnny Morris carbon lite rod and honestly it feels and looks a lot like my Stradic shares a lot of the same specs and feels smooth as all hell like Shimano always does. That smooth feeling is why I'm a return customer no other company makes reels that consistently make reels this smooth with a 20lb drag and fantastic reel arm ergo/shape. I even have a nexave from a few years ago from the much cheaper line on a Sellus rod and it's still just as smooth as day 1. I actually pulled in a 7.13lb large mouth last year on it no problem at all. I seem to get asked a lot as to why I prefer so much drag and honestly it comes down to fishing heavy moss/pads and the fact I fish a ton of soft plastics and it's not all that rare to pull in a channel cat lol.
Hey starlo great to see you again. How are you just found you six months ago. Haven’t seen you since back in the old days with Rex Hunt. Great to see you still going and still have a great passion. i’ve entered the competition and done all the things, but happy to see it. Go to a young person so they catch the same passion you have had for so many years. Look forward to all your next videos mate. All the best.
They're great little reel for bream, flatties, taylor and the like.. I ve had 2500 sedona for years and even caught reasonable snapper on lures in the washes around Coffs harbour years ago .. these days I use it for grunter, blue salmon and mangrove jacks up here in Gladstone Qld.. still have the same bearings and drag washers as these fish don't pull heaps of line thus the drag stays coolish and hasn't worn out yet.. the trick is correct maintenance of bearings, washers and cleaning of reel after use
Looks awesome! I’ll have to check them out. I’m still using a Sedona 750FB and 1500FB on my good bream rods, but they’re getting a little long in the tooth, so these may be the perfect upgrade!
Thanks Starlo. All three things are done. I’ve been a fan of the Sedona reels for a while now(I own a 3000, 4000 and a 5000) and find them to be a great reel and very price effective. Cheers for all the videos
10 odd Years ago, when i bought a Starlo stix combo from Big W it came paired with a Sedona 2500FD. Coped a real hiding over the years and only recently started showing it age. Who ever Wins this Reel will be very happy with it. It was my Favorite Reel. I'll be Honest Starlo. If i won it.. I could't fish with it after i knew it had been graced by your touch!! 😂 I'd have to get you to sign it so i could just admire it 👍.
Hi Starlo have recently started watching your videos especially liked your Tassie Fly trip last year. Have watched your videos (VHS days) and read your articles since I was a teenager. You are without doubt Australias and maybe the worlds premier fishing instructors. Thanks for everything you’ve taught me and keep catching mate. Subscribed and Thumbs up.
Done, done and done. It's your fault Starlo, it's your fault that the bulk of my fishing tackle is Shimano. I remember watching you and others on the TV and in the magazines back in the 80s and 90s, (Seems so long ago now). I often wondered what happened to all the 'famous' fishos. Now I know. Anyway, keep up the good work. All the best.
Yeah I’ll definitely take a rain check on the Sedona reel comp, as don’t like any reel that doesn’t have a screw in handle, my personal experience with the Daiwa reels made me aware of the BIG difference between say a Legalis (bolt handle) and my T.D. Black in 2500 model (screw in) the Black miles better. I’d rather leave it to a winner who would appreciate it. Just in case yr listening, you may remember me complaining about not getting any and yr encouragement and support in my distress was greatly appreciated. Anyway I just came second in a comp up here on the Mid North Coast. A multi-Species comp with a 3 fish limit in each Species catagory and an A.P.P. Where you photograph fish on brag mat. So exciting for me, one of my fish was a 67cm Flattie!! Stay well Starlo.😮 P
Good stuff! So glad to hear you’re catching them and congrats on your performance in that comp!! I tend to agree with you re handle construction. I assume it’s all price driven. But I must say, the more “budget” reels have improved a LOT in recent years. Tight Lines, Starlo
Liked, subscribed & receiving newsletter. Already have one of the previous model Sedona that I’ve had my almost 2 year old son catching fish on & still going strong
Long time subscriber, 👍 given and signed up for newsletters. Enjoyed the recent podcast too Starlo, keep them coming please. The Sedona would be a great addition to my arsenal, cheers.
I have completed the three criteria for this competition. I have lost count of the number of your videos I have watched Steve. Just getting back into fishing after a total hip replacement
Have subscribed, thumbs up and subscribed to newsletter. Easy. Love your stuff Starlo and have for many years. Lots to learn from the way you communicate with your audience. Love it.
All done like, subscribe and signed up to the newsletter. I have always loved how simply you explain things and without any hint of being over the top about it. Been following your fishing adventures for decades and great to see your still up for it. Keep the content coming, I love it.
All done, I’m a long time Shimano user here I have a couple of very keen granddaughters that I would give this reel to one of them and buy another one for the other thanks for the opportunity to join your community
Hey Statlo, all signed up and looking forward to reading the newsletters! Cheers mate. Thanks for all your work it makes a world of difference to my fishing!! Thankyou.
Already done, but checked anyway! Love my sedonas, my first real set of reels before I upgraded to Stradics. Still use mine for my bass fishing, but looking to upgrade those rods, can't wait to give them a go!
All three done, subscriptions to channel standing, liked the video and signed up for the newsletter. Looks like a great reel and I'll be keen to see how it holds up to your on water tests.
Have completed all 3 tasks, now the 4th 👍 Thanks for your insight and guidance. it's invaluable to help myself and my young son get started into fishing 🎣

Thank you! I’m not sure we still have both Sedona models on the market here in Australia?

I’m still using a Sedona 750FB and 1500FB on my good bream rods, but they’re getting a little long in the tooth, so these may be the perfect upgrade!
You’ll love the new one. 👍
