People saying the show didn't follow the lore clearly don't know the lore.. the ONLY thing in season one that was not lore was all the Makee stuff. Even Kwan was based on a different charactor from the books. That being said, the show was just ok, wasn't terrible, wasn't great. It had a ton of production issues.. changing studios 4 time, changing episode count multiple times, changing writers multiple times. Season two has none of that, so hopefully it will be great.

What do you think is the truest display of a Spartan's strength, speed and power; a Spartan whopping ass in armor, or a Spartan doing so without it? This show has literally given us the truest display of a Spartan's abilities (John going up against two fully armored Spartans and holding his own, while holding back), and now him and Soren wrecking a bunch of Elites with ZERO aid from his armor. Something the games have never given us. Yet, you people have such a myopic view, you can't appreciate this. Master Chief is more than his armor/helmet. The Mandalorian actually loves by a code which doesn't allow him to remove his helmet; how does this apply to Chief, exactly? What would casual viewers make of it if Chief (the star) was the ONLY Spartan to never his helmet/armor? How would that make sense? What would they think of it? Is Chief special needs? Is he on the spectrum? Is he grotesquely disfigured? Over a year has passed since this show released, and he revealed his face in the very first episode. Let.it.go. Y'all are missing the forest for the trees here; completely hung up on the smallest, silliest thing to not appreciate this show. This show certainly isn't perfect; it has its problems, but Chief not wearing his armor/helmet is the absolute least of it.
After watching the first 2 episodes, this is seriously an upgrade compared to season 1. The helmet needs to be taken with a grain of salt. What do you expect of soldiers being on an army base completely covered in unnecessary armor (for that moment) while they're just chilling on base waiting for a new op to go to or having a mission brief etc. Again, it's a serious upgrade, CG is soooo much better as well. Just give the 1st episode a go and make up your mind to go through with it after that. I honestly think you'll be surprised. Again, it's not perfect yet, but it's getting there.
If the actor wanted his face shown as master chief, just fire him and hire his stunt double, then use someone else’s voice… and whenever chief would normally take his helmet off, switch to a different scene. Never showing US the viewer master chief’s face, or just use a different spartan….
I liked season 1 as a Halo fan, it's a show After all not a game you cant just take a game and make a show from it verbatim. Was it perfect? No but it was good and yes you can't have the main actor never show his face nerds lol.

The Halo series was hands down one of the worst things i've ever watched. I was beyond sad.
