I don't think people realize how OP childe's riptide mechanic is. Especially with these new teams
For real. Not being bias, but Childe's gameplay is still my top favorite in the game. Riptide is so complicated to understand yet so fun to use as well

Especially with new highly sought after characters a lot of people have or want like Kazuha and Bennett that synergise much better with him when compared to others due to reactions and infusions working with him instead of against like yoimiya and hutao

Childe is a very amazing character. He has one of the best teams in the game, and also has a very satisfying playstyle. And the best thing about him is, the more and more characters came out, the more team options for him. He has so many viable teams that you will never get bored of playing him because you will get to try so many new team combinations and playstyles.
The riptide pattern is definitely the best design of Genshin.If there are masses,if someone needs hydro,then the man is here to help

When Dendro was introduced, I was using MC!Dendro with Childe, Thoma and Kokomi…It was crazy how Burgeon worked with this team, but I’ve been using Childe and Thoma together since 2.2, so seeing people being a little flexible to have them in a Burgeon team makes me happy.

I love playing Thoma and Childe together too. The only problem is that they look too much alike, so I have to separate their slots so I stop mistaking them for one another (playing on mobile).
I wish I pulled for Kokomi. Didn't know she would be crucial for a Childe, Nahida, Thoma team. Sounds very satisfying.

i just got him a few days ago 🙂 Really loving his playstyle after taking him for a spin in the overworld to get used to him. He's lvl. 65 now. i have him on Nymph set with Aqua Simulacra. Hopefully he will be abyss-ready soon!
We all know that Sevy's guides are always the perfect combination of in-detail and easy to understand, but can we also appreciate the all little puns she hides through her scripts? They add so much flavour to the script, I love them xD
Its crazy to think he was released way back 1.1 the team who developed his kit did an excellent job. His playstyle still being loved several patches later means they were able to create a kit that ages like fine wine.
Dunno. His kit are trash tho. And I'm saying this as his fan. Number are good but the mechanic and synergy are all over the place.
I mean passive of +1 for AA talent? Really?
@@ancy1205 at least the passive isn’t something useless in combat like every other characters third passive. It can help kazuha since he does a lot of plunge damage and also increase the riptide damage a bit
@@ancy1205 His passive is great for characters like him, Ganyu, Ayato, Kazuha, Nilou. Basically every character who can deal dmg with the basic attack, plunging attack or charged attack. It's useful in combat. I mean, better than having some mora refund when crafting some weapons for example
@@IkikuroKidenai Except none of them can play along with him. So his passive have literally zero use.
Do you know how valuable it is when you have passive that save you 20% resin??? The most valuable resource in the game? Or the passive that help you on the overworld which is 90% of your ghenshin gameplay?
That also count on his other passive. Extend his riptide duration to 8 second?? For what? when you are gonna trigger it for the next 0.5 second anyway ? All in all, he has one single passive.
@@ancy1205 You missed the point where the passive has to be related to the character in some way. Childe has mastered every weapon in game except for the bow, which he's trying to master. So his passive enhances the attack you use with each weapon. We will never have a passive that allows to save resin, because resin in the game lore simply doesn't exist! Plus, Nilou can play with Childe and so can Al Haitham, so his passive is actually quite useful. The riptide passive is actually very useful if you know how to use him. You trigger it ONCE EVERY 0.5s. Not just for 0.5s what are you even talking about
I highly recommend a freeze/bloom comp. I use Childe with Rosaria, Dendro MC and Kazuha. It’s so incredibly satisfying and overpowered. I’ve played him in every other team comp possible and this is by far my favourite, it made me start using Childe again. If you have him, just please try it, it’s so worth it!!

@@poppiexy Only ones I stacked EM on was Kazuha (obvs) and DMC, my team is far from perfection, Kazuha has 1k EM and DMC is about 500. Still farming the new dendro set lol

Got him C6 last week. All it took was a year and a half of saving and the most extreme luck ever. Now I just gotta learn how to play it
Congrats fellow C6 haver! His C6 may not be an extreme damage boost but it does give versatility to our favorite water boy.

International rotation is enough you dont need cooldown reduction + C4 can mess up vapes
Taser, freeze and the other teams dont need the cooldown reduction either
C6 childe is for people with a SEVERE case of skill issue because like doing his rotation on national is so easy already and doesn't need C6 and his C4 messes his vapes lol

I am a Childe main but I never really knew how to build a good team for him and especially not the exact rotations. Its so helpful that you explained them so well. I dont have Kazuha so Sucrose will have to do, but I cant wait to try them on the next abbyss

When dendro was released, i was so happy to find out that Childe has great synergy with it and got so many dendro teams.
Ngl i was bummed a bit that he was rarely mentioned in bloom-related comp guides as the hydro applicator (usually it's xinqiu, yelan or kokomi) when he's still the strongest hydro applicator in the game.
Hoping that this updated guide will prove to the player base that he's STILL VERY META and will continue to be future proof as we get more patches (unless Hoyo comes up with an anti-Childe mechanic).
I've been waiting for his rerun since I started playing back in 2.3, and managed to get him C1! Before him, I mainly used Ayato in freeze and national, so my teams for him are very well built and have been a lot of fun to play with a new hydro dps to enjoy! Thanks for the guide on rotations sevy, your explanations are clear as always!
I typically use taser or freeze team comps but if the enemy is too tough, I switch to international comp. It doesn't matter how strong the enemy is, Childe halves their HP in an instant then Xiangling does the rest. They're such a good combo!

really nice video!!! i love videos that show off fun teams, also i tried intergrassional with dendroMC and it wasnt hard to avoid her burst from infusing pyro and exploding, i used childe's aim shot to infuse the flower
He's been my go-to spiral abyss king if my personal favorite characters cannot catch up the timer at floor 12.

I really appreciate this video and will try some of the teams, but why is it that every Childe showcase gets tons of comments about how they don't have him and prefer other units anyway? Why watch this showcase then? I am glad they give this video views, but I always found it kind of annoying.
While I personally don't like childe the "National" in favor of Rational team, I'm really enjoying the hyperbloom variation. I'm willing to try the burgeon too
ive had childe for quite a while and hes insanely restrictive to play bc of his cooldown but hes also on of the most versatioe and fun characters to play once u get aeounds his tedius cooldown mechanic

Until yesterday, I used to play Heizou for his aoe swirl effect. But now, I can cause freaking chain-reactions, both riptide and swirl. You see only 2 marks on enemy, and after hit, foe explodes with anemo,hydro-swirled, riptide damage. Pure satisfaction, Venti's burst alike.

- against pyro enemies, a mono hydro team with Thoma, Xingqiu, Childe and (dps on clams) Barbara
- a tazer team with Lisa, (mixed physical-electro built) Razor, Childe and (dps on clams) Barbara.

I loveee childe so much. I run him with nahida and beidou the most and it does lotss if elemental damage.
I got stupid lucky on this banner. Literal first pull was him (not at pity, won 50/50). I put in two more ten pulls hoping for Layla, only to pull him again! Then put a ten pull on standard and got Keqing. I can't be mad, Tartaglia's C1 seems pretty damn useful honestly.
I'm thinking in using Childe on field, Nahida, Beidou and Kukki. My question is, the 250 EM buff from Nahida isn't wasted on childe since it's Kukki that is proccing hyperbloom ?
Is his BiS artifacts still HoD even with Dendro based teams like intergrassional?

Still building him, my melee burst does 208k vape damage as of now
Is it better to use a 5 star weapon or the battle pass bow for quadratic scaling?
I don't know what 5 star bows you have but the battle pass weapon is a good choice for him, but pretty much all 5 star bows are good for him. If you want to keep enemies grouped more easily then battle pass is nice, but I think it still loses out in terms of overall dps to most 5 stars (the 5 star bows in this game generally are just very good even the standard ones like Skyward harp and Amos), but if you have no 5 star bows or have one but for another character then BP bow is a great option. If you have an anemo grouper like Kazuha, Venti or Sucrose then BP weapon is not as necessary since you will want to keep switching to them for swirl anyway to maximize damage which can also keep them grouped. But without an anemo grouper BP bow can make things easier if you are facing multiple enemies.

I have him double crowned (skill and burst). Zero regrets, Childe International team has hard carried my account.
Been a Childe main ever since his very first banner and throughout the subsequent versions all my teams were built around him (may it be Childe DPS or Burst) and my friends would ask me why I main him, I simply say because he is by far the easiest character for me to play (despite them insisting his dual wield is a harder playstyle).

I hope he gets a little revamp or buff in at least to his E skill cooldown like ayato CD.
