have been using a marshal speaker for about 5/6 years, its by far be best speaker ive ever owned. the sound quality is so good. mine costed about 250€, and doesnt have bluetooth, but fortunately it wasnt a deal breaker for me.

The Xtreme sounds better yes but the stereo vs mono argument there is stupid. It sounds a tad better but not noticeable unless side by side. Better to run 2x charge 5 for example and get real stereo separation.
@@Vahndamme I bet you have that cheap peace of shit mono sound speaker. Stereo speakers in extreme are on both sides then the sound goes around. Its not like you have to stand between the speakers to hear the stereo. Another think is bass. Mono sound its flat there is lowest level. Only benefits to have boombox its higher volume but its not that compact to carry like extreme. Boombox its heavy enough to exchange it to partybox 100.

Floss I gotta say on a side note my S23 Ultra arrived 2 days ago and man it is definitely going to be one of the best phones Samsung have released. It is finally the complete package phone that I don’t feel the S22 Ultra was. There’s no more Exynos processor finally, the 8 Gen 2 provides some serious gains over the Gen 1, the battery is finally top tier, the speakers sound better in my opinion than my 14 Pro Max, the curved edges are a little flatter which feels even better in the hands now. For real man I would say it’s worth the upgrade from the S22 Ultra if you have the money, or if you have the Exynos variant.

This is a truly great speaker. The video was fab, as usual. Your expertise of many years of reviewing audio equipment in an entertaining and insightful way is coming through as expected. I like the idea of it being an outdoor speaker because it might be too large indoors. However, I love my Bose Revolve+ speakers, and it might be a comparison to those, at least when I have 2 paired. When the Marshals are paired - do you get the chance to have them in stereo, or are they just playing the same mono track, or are they playing the same stereo track with each trying to put out a stereo image? I have found that when Bluetooth speakers can play in stereo, where each can take a single left or right channel - something magical can happen. When each speaker is NOT trying to play the whole mix, but just a portion of it - all those resources of the amp, the quality drivers, and the DSP work to produce absolute MAGIC. Do you know if These MArshals can do stereo? is it an option. Also, have you heard about the BEOLIT20 from Bang and Olufsen? If so, I'd love to know how you think it compares to this Marshal speaker? It is probably about twice the price, and I can say from the start that it will NOT be twice the value 🙂, but in pure sound quality terms - I would love to know how you would evaluate them. You have the experience, and you know how to review speakers, so I am hoping that you might get a loaner of the Bang and Olufsen and give them a shootout at some point. Maybe it's just the video, but kinda sounds off to me. Kinda sounds like it's in a box. It sounded better when Flossy picked it up off the table and pointed the face at the camera. Could just be that my ear is tuned to the Xtreme 3 tho, cause I just got a pair like 2 weeks ago. There's also something about the sound. Like almost sounds a little fuzzy or scratchy to me. But I do really like the idea of the 360 sound. That used to really irritate me with my old Sony BT speaker.
Interesting that their speakers are either named after places in London (where Company started) or Milton Keynes UK (where their offices are now). Middleton is named after Middleton Hall in Milton Keynes which is an exhibition area in the shopping centre.
Why u use maximum volume? Over 75% the Xtreme is decrease the bass level and other BT speakers too. My old Xtreme 2 is way too loud in my room on ~50% volume. I never understand this max volume tests...

Man, I love the Marshall Middleton. RUclips videos do not do it justice. I ordered one, thinking I was going to hate it and now it's next to me in bed, while my wife is forced to sleep on the couch. Now, I'm thinking about ordering another one for a little "ménage" or, at the very least, put them in 'stack mode'.
First great review and respect for the effort. This kind of speakers are made mostly for outdoor use for me. Maybe it's more accurate to make sound test outside in the park. In the studio of course you can hear the difference in details. Outside the overall soundstage decrease no matter the brand of the speaker. Marshall is more rugged and has more crisp sound. The xtreme 3 is loud and the strap is very convenient and the eq settings are helpfull. Marshall has 3 sound modes and the bass and trebble buttons are useless in some point for me. Pease.
I'm listening to this on 2 Embertons in stack mode bay-beee! You can actuality stack any combo of Marshall 5.1 models endlessly. Yes, buy 2 Emberton II and 2 Middletons for super surround.....etc
Hi, Floss!!! I'm from Bulgaria and here we have every single JBL speaker available. Personally I've got flip 6, charge 5, xtreme 3 and Boombox 3. I wanna ask you something about that Middleton. Here I've listened to the Emberton 1 and 2 and also the other Marshalls but none of them sound better to me than the JBL speakers. But we still don't have the Middleton. From the video above I know that the bass is deeper with the Middleton but how about the whole sound presentation and if you have to choose between the Xtreme 3 and Middleton which one would you choose???? I can't believe that the Middleton sounds better, seriously, but as I said I still haven't heard it.
So I've been testing this. Marshall Middleton versus my JBL charge 5 and it's not close. Middleton wins by a mile. As a lover of JBL I did not want to believe it but once I bought it and tried it for myself, it's obvious. I may sell my JBL's and pick up some more Marshall stuff.

This thing has the most impressive bass iv seen from a 4 pound speaker. I measured it down to 38hz. I don't think the extreme 3 can do much below 50hz. The JBL sounds better! I just bought the Middleton -it simply has surround sound, however, at high volumes the bass drops out dramatically!!! I needed a speaker to travel with so this good enough for my purpose. I have the Marshall Tufton…..but that’s too big to carry.

The JBL sounds better! I just bought the Middleton -it simply has surround sound, however, at high volumes the bass drops out dramatically!!!
I needed a speaker to travel with so this good enough for my purpose. I have the Marshall Tufton…..but that’s too big to carry.
