Unlike other causes of lower GI haemorrhage, fissure-in-ano present with painful bleeding per rectum. I am talking on etiology, types, clinical features and treatment of fissure-in-ano. Sir what about closed LIS is there more reoccurance chances the open LIS?
Closed lateral internal sphincterotomy is the treatment of choice for chronic fissures as it is effective, safe, less expensive, and associated with a lower rate of complications than the open sphincterotomy technique.

What about laser spinterotomy.is it better then conventional.
Laser therapy of chronic anal fissure is a simple, non-invasive and painless surgical procedure with a low rate of complications. It can be viewed as an effective treatment for patients with anal fissure. However, this procedure has some limitations.

Priyanka v patel Because of curvature of rectum and anus, if patient is straining to pass stool in constipation, the posterior midline only bear the brunt of this increased pressure and get torn

Priyanka v patel The root cause for fissure is constipation. The part which is taking the whole brunt while a person is straining to pass stool is the posterior midline area of anal opening and that is why fissure is common there.

If it's chronic fissure I do sphincterotomy

If you cut only internal sphincter no problem but if you cut external sphincter then incontinence happen

Why sphincterotomy is done in a fissure case?
Priyanka v patel To relieve the sustained sphincteric contraction. But you have to cut only internal sphincter
Sir does chronic fissure with anal tags heal by its own or not ?
Usually not you have to excise the skin tags apart from doing lateral sphincterotomy
