It’s so nice to see a contractor care about the work and the customer in the long run. It’s not all about the money, it’s about doing the right thing for everyone. Thank you for doing the right thing and being honorable
i told Kleeman - reason i like you and all the various DP crew - MBTS - Kleeman, Matt - Logger Wade - all of m - the ladies too - when you all smile you smile all over your faces- it's genuine and wonderful to see.

so good to see the man behind the scenes back on job site , DP i like how you have fantastic employees and that there not afraid to bust your chops , this is one reason i love watching your video
That was a good choice, lots of business comes from "word of mouth". A happy customer may cost you a few bucks today, but you'll mack out better in the long run, and a good reputation is priceless.
Another perfect job and another fine vid by DP !!!!! Making that pad right for the owner will get you alot more jobs in time. Word of mouth spreads like wild fire !!! Dang it Mike you make me want to move to your neck of the woods. Very nice community you have there. Nothing like that here sorry to say. Very nice my friend.
I like how you handled the situation with the home owner...Its always better to do the right thing than pad your pocket because that home owner could bring you multiple more jobs and your reputation will continue to be in a positive place
its called being a good businessman at the end. Think outside of the box and treat the customer the way you would want to be treated. You done right throughout this job.
I'm sure this customer has lots of friends who have lots of friends and so on! Integrity goes a long way in life Mike! But you already know that. Great job and great decisions. Great bunch of friends you have❤
I enjoy you breaking it down and explaining the whole thought process behind the Job and good customer relationship I admire your honesty and honesty to your customers when a unexpected situation arises and what to do to correct and explain why. You’re a good man and have a Blessed One Sir.
The extra time and interest you take in a job to do the job correctly even though you didn't bid that way speaks volumes for your integrity, standards and business model. These qualities get around town generating confidence by customers in future jobs to trust your judgement. Great job Mike!!!!
You are a remarkable businessman. Your approach to dealing with customers when you know the job is not the way you would like it will bring many dividends in the future. Please keep up the good work.
Everytime I see a snickers I think of the old TV commercial with Betty White playing football... 👀😅😂 Did MTBS get in a double entendre there ( a giant Pepsi and a snickers ) shots fired across the bows... LoL 😂😆😂
Wish you were close to Kansas...I would hire you in a HEART BEAT... ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDLY IN DOING THE JOB RIGHT... QUALITY OF DOLLARS WILL ALWAYS KEEP CUSTOMERS COMING BACK!
You did good. It was your idea and by now trying to wring extra money out of the customer there's no chance they'll later wonder if you did it 'for the money'. And you're right, if they talk about you they'll be talking about how you had a good idea and implemented it without hitting them up for additional cost. Well done!
My first job of 2021 went just like this. Didn’t make any money but it was more important to me to do a good job! Good man Mike!👍🏻 Says a lot about a mans character 😎
Great to see a crew that can have fun AND work together! I call it right hand, left hand you can make moves and really don't have to say any thing just perfect coordination. Nice ! Good luck!
Mike you show your professionalism by talking to the customer and telling him the truth that you don't think this is what he needs. A couple of extra hours on the job at your cost will net you more work in the future !
Good looking job as you always do and that little conflict is nothing to worry about , you were right and he was out of line putting you in that spot!!!
I had faith in you Mike, as soon as you got on the dozer I knew you could bury the camera. lol You really do a lot for your customer. Proud to watch your progress. Thanks for sharing.
Some times coming back is a necessity and just getting the dirt in place and letting it naturally settle is the best choice before starting construction. Here in Barrie they mounded up a huge pile of dirt for 2 years at the waterfront to compress the existing land where a new washroom facility was being built. My younger brother who’s a University certified dirt nerd mentioned the amount of weight needed in relation to the weight of the structure to compress the soil and eliminate the water and prevent settling after construction without needing to do a piling foundation.
Love your videos and most of all your way in doing business and doing what is right. You are right. it always pays on the long run by treating people right.
This was a very enjoyable series! I’m looking forward to see what it looks like next year!! The shale I used was just for a driveway. We used almost a million pounds!!
Thank you Mr DirtPerfect and Team and a special shoutout to Aaron. I like how you all work with a beautiful spirit. I was thinking the same thing that it was too high. Excellent decision lowering it as it looks a loads better. Do you ever pressure wash the tracks from all the equipment? Have a good weekend and I hope to catch the next video soon....
Looks great lowered down, like you say its better to have friends than people slaggin you off. Would like a bit of an explanation about getting levels and how that beep machine works especially for us laymen cheers another great video Peter UK 🇬🇧
Adjusting the height of the pad at your expense shows the type of businessman, and the type of person you are. That's alright with me. Have a blessed and safe week.
I actually would like to work with you guys ,The video was just they way we worked here back in the day. Good job men and keep on enjoying the work and just think someone pays you for having such a good time.
I think I would be looking for a sheeps foot roller for soil conditions like this in the future. They're great for taken the "spongy" air pockets out of wet clay-ish material.
Me and dad have an 850 case and 2650 link belt we do some dirt work with every now and then love watching the work y’all do ! You can do a lot of different jobs with these machines
I´m glad you changed the grade to a lower one.. I was thinking, what´s the hell´s wrong with you guys. That´s way to steep , OH, and buy the way. Ya´ll are having way to much fun. You a good boss , you involve all your Employeeś and that´s what its all about, Nice Job, See Ya
A happy customer is the easiest way to more work. And it's not a good feiling to leave a job you know you could have done better. That's worth a couple of hours work for sure.
Mikey... sometimes the job requires a little give and take. That’s just the way it works. I don’t think I’ve told you about my 11-11-11 deal... have I? Well, I’ve had my hair cut by the same barber for over 25 years. I probably know more about her kids, pets and gardens than I do about my brother’s... so with conversation thrown in my early haircuts took about 15 minutes. When I started going to her, she had a shop about 9 mikes west of my home. Haircuts were $6 and I had brown hair that I grew long and thick enough to comb. As time passed, things changed. My hair started turning grey, got a bit thinner and the price of the haircut went up. About 10 years ago she built a new shop 11 miles south of me. The cost of a haircut went up to $9, her business grew and our conversations shortened. That was also about the time my hair got so thin and so grey that it wouldn’t stay down when I combed it. So, I asked her what I should do. She sold me on Styling Gel. It worked great... except in the summertime. I found that I couldn’t wear a cap... because when I sweated the styling gel would mold the hair to the shape of my cap. When I pulled it off the whole top lifted into a puff that looked like a mushroom cap. If I didn’t comb it back down before it dried I looked like Moe from the 3 Stooges. That was a bridge too far for me. I had gotten into the habit of combing my hair once in the morning then just smushing it back into place with my fingers. So, I asked her what else I could do. She said the only way around it is to go shorter. I suggested 1”... So she buzzed it off to about 3/4” on top. I didn’t tell her that it was shorter than I wanted. I just said, that’s perfect. I’ll give it a try. The whole haircut and conversation took 11 minutes. Well Mikey, I lived with that length of hair for a couple of years. Then, I found that my hair was so thin and so stiff that I looked like a plucked chicken with pin feathers sticking out. Styling gel made it look like a bristle brush the dog had chewed. One day I went in for my hair cut and told her to cut it down to 1/2” long. She cut it 1/4” and charged me $11. The shorter hair didn’t take any more or less time to cut. Over the past two years I’ve learned that the expert was right once again... even though I thought I wanted 1/2” hair... the 1/4” length she cuts works great. So, I can certainly identify with your customer. Sometimes the expert knows best. Oh yeah... about the 11-11-11 deal. Who else can brag that they drive 11 miles for an $11 haircut that is done in 11 minutes?
I worked at the Archabbey of St. Meinrad for a little over a year and never made it to Santa Claus. Just never did. Used to eat lunch in Mariah Hill though ..
Well, since we closed on a new ranch last Friday, I'm hoping I can find a contractor as good and as honest as you are when we go to build in a few months!
