PAC-2 power rankings next?🙏🏽
@@stevelenores5637they do border each other
@@stevelenores5637wtf are you talking about
Where would the pac2 stack up in either the big12 or acc?
Please josh, put out a 12 minute in depth video ranking both of the PAC 2 schools 😂😂😂😂😂
@@stevelenores5637I guess you’re right about Washington State playing in a desert but Oregon and Washington border each other
The conference, if it keeps its current form for the next few years, should be a fabulous, chaotic mess, with a whole bunch of nearly-equally-good teams battling for the conference title every year.
I was thinking something along the same lines as that myself. Who knows who is going to win this conference from one year to the next. lol.
It’s gonna be just like basketball lol
I’m not an Oklahoma State fan at all, but they have been a top 15 overall program during this century.
With one big 12 title and not even close to winning a real championship
@@UTlif3.Hookem Nothing you said disputes what I just said. The reason they have so few conference titles is because Oklahoma is the undisputed king of the big 12.
That still leaves room for them to be top 15 when you consider total wins.
And how close has UT come at winning a real championship since O-State became competitive? They should have played LSU for the title in 2011. Disney company behind the scene manipulation in the polls got Alabama in instead. Over the past fifteen years Oklahoma State has been a better program than UT in football and why don't you tell us the overall record since 2011. Each of UT four coaches in that span has one win each against the Cowboys.@@UTlif3.Hookem
KSU has 3....@@adamsanders2270
OU and TX being in the B12 stopped K-State and Baylor being tied for second most B12 FB Championships until last year with 3 each. TX moved out of the 3 way tie for 2nd most by winning last year and leaving w/4 rings. OSU will be a top team in the near future, but top 15 for the next 76 years. Heck Bama can't say that. Things will change a lot of that many years. No one can say the football will still be being played in the next 30 years. To many HS are dropping FB because of injury and deaths to say what will happen this century. Next decade, could happen. @@adamsanders2270
This conference is far better than it looks.
Exactly 💪
I look at the conference and I don’t really see a team that is t going to at least try to compete or feel like they’ve given up except for maybe ASU
Nah 😂😂
There are 0 teams in the conference that have a chance of winning a national championship though
I mean that’s great but only a handful of teams in the Big Ten and SEC do as well. Everyone else in those conferences like Minnesota, Iowa, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, etc. don’t have a chance in hell either. So unless you are a fan of one of the big dogs who can actually win it all it’s not a flex just because you happen to be in a conference with the big dogs. You’re just going to get your ass kicked repeatedly but at least you have more money right?
As someone who has watched Cincinnati from the 90s, them hiring Satterfield was the worst thing they could ever do for the program.
who dey
@@volusiasorange Who Dey!
Ive wondered about that program, and why isnt it better. Cincinatti is in such a recruiting-rich part of the country. Even if they got Big 10 leftovers in the region, Cincy should still be a perennial 8 or 9-win program.
@MichaelBrown-ti1un I'm an osu fan but what Fickell did was began to recruit this area well and also other parts of Ohio. Plus he was always a solid recruiter otherwise. Some of the new coaches they have completely ignore programs around this area and it makes no sense as to why. Osu has gone national over the past decade but they won a lot of game recruiting the Midwest heavily. I am in no way saying UC and OSU can be the same but UC botches what they could be.
@@MichaelBrown-ti1unthey have been. Every coach they hire, springboards to a big time program. Mark Dantonio, Butch Jones and Luke Fickell are a few. They played in BCS bowls and the cfb playoffs. They should always be good, recruiting SW Ohio.
Top end might not look too impressive but the worst teams in this conference are much better than the worst teams in any other P5 conference including the SEC
agree
Maybe? Using the SEC though, you might have vandy.
But go to the second or especially 4th worst in the SEC and they beat the brakes off a top 5 Big 12 team...
@@Nathan-ct9eha 6-6 Kansas team went to triple OT with a 6-6 Arkansas team in the 2022 Liberty Bowl. Not exactly beating the brakes off them.
@@Nathan-ct9ehthat was a dumb comment bro bro lol. Texas tech smoked ole miss last time they played and Kansas went to overtime with a very good organization in Arkansas. Not to mention there was always a bottom of the pack team beating Texas every single year which in the sec’s case, Texas is a top 3 team in the conference so😂 idk what you meant by that statement. The sec ain’t the damn nfl.
You said Utah has 28 wins in the last 3 years, O State has 29 wins, and 2 conference championship appearances in a tougher conference. You said 8+ wins in 14 of the last 18 years. O State won 8+ games 14 times in a span of two less seasons.
Then you go to K- State who O State has beaten 4 out of the last 5 times. Anyone who is surprised by O State in your top 4 doesn't know much about college football, as it appears you don't. O State has been top two in the Big 12 for the past decade even before OU and UT left.
I really don't understand why the lack of respect I'm seeing from people about O State in the new Big 12.
TCU is 1 year removed from the CFP
Deion has never said he's leaving CU
Deion won maybe 1 game in the PAC 12
@@GrayGamerand your take is relevant how🤔🤔🤔. Easy to tell when someone just wants to push their narrative. How about you tell us the big bad team you root for that's going to beat up on Colorado. You people so blinded with hate the fact it's Deion's first yr and is rebuilding a program from the ground escapes you . 🙄
@@TheIkeman74you’re acting like he’s rebuilding the old school way lol within weeks of being at CU he had loads of 4 & 5 star players from the portal not to mention the #1 recruit in the country signed lol with that much talent to only win 4 games and get pushed around and nearly beat by a 5-7 CSU team from the Mountain West is very lack luster. Don’t give me the trenches excuse I saw Lance Leipold take a far less talented roster at Kansas to a bowl game and Mike Gundy does it on a regular bases. I like Deion as a person but that program is being ran very loosely.
I'm in Topeka, KS, smack dab in the middle of KU & K-State country. Strange thing happen after the first weekend of March Madness happened here. My KU friends were saying, "how long til football starts?". That used to be what K-State fans would say!!
I am all in on KU football ever since we upset Texas in 2021. I pay more attention to it then I do KU basketball. It’s nice being able to care about college football again after 12+ years of losing interest by week 3 each season. Lol
1. Utah - kyle wittingham doesn't lose and I hate him for it
2. K St - consistency personified minus finishing the job
3. OkSt - could completely shit the bed or win the conference
4. Kansas - dangerous
5. Iowa St - Underrated
6. WVU - insane improvement
7. Arizona - Lots of change following some success. Big question mark
8. UCF - overrrated
9. TCU - no clue. Ok st vibes
10. Tech - Same
11. Houston - on the up and up
12. Baylor - solid downward trajectory, could turn it around
13. Colorado - mish mash of portal players
14. BYU - disjointed mess
15. Cincinnati - coaching disaster
16. Arizona State - dumpster fire
I'm not sure how Oklahoma State as a program could be ranked under KSU. Especially if you zoom out any further than the 3 year window and look at the last 10-15 years. I'm a big fan of KSU and think they have an excellent program but in terms of success over the past decade, OSU clears with ease. And Gundy is as solid as they come as a HC. Never in the top 30 recruiting, but top 10 in wins over the past decade... elite talent development, best in the Big 12 by far.
Surprised BYU is that low.
So was I they should’ve been above Houston and Baylor. West Virginia being ranked so low was weird too.
@@cjboyer4355I think the list was about the future of the teams mostly.
In the PAC 12 era, Utah had more players drafted, and the most active NFL players than any other PAC 12 school. Not USC, Oregon or Washington.
With that said, Utah’s recruiting classes were never ranked in the top half of the conference 🤔🤔🤔
That's not accurate. According to Wikipedia USC, Oregon and Washington all had more players drafted since 2011, the year Utah joined the conference. Turns out so did Stanford and UCLA.
Also a 2023 X post by Brett Mcmurphy shows all of those schools have more active NFL players than Utah. But 6th ain't bad.
This was true I believe back in 2021 or so. But it has changed in the last couple years.
Kyle Whittingham has to be the most slept on coach in arguably all of sports lol I had no clue he had been there since 05 when Urban left and how consistently good Utah has been the last 20 years. I would’ve guessed he had only been there since 2015ish.
WVU is the 15th winningest program in football history.
Defense improved with the two recent transfers from Northwestern and their offense looks more solid since Brown became HC
It’s okay let them doubts us and make us look bad real cfb fans know that’s when WVU is at their best
Pat White & Steve Slaton are long gone pal
KU fan here and I agree WVU and BYU were ranked way to low.
Comical, over the last 3 years BYU has 6 Pac 12 wins in 7 games. That's more pac 12 wins than Colorado has had over the last 3 years (5). ASU with 10 wins and Arizona with 11 in 27 tries is still well below .500. You could make an argument that BYU has had more success against the Pac 12 over the last 3 years than all the aforementioned teams ranked above them.
Respectfully, you’re way too low on West Virginia, Josh, primarily because of your “best program” parameters & how you apply the parameters to a ranking here.
They’re right around 4-6:
Utah
Oklahoma State
Kansas State
TCU
West Virginia
Texas Tech
Iowa State
Kansas
Arizona
UCF
Baylor
Arizona State
Colorado
BYU
Houston
Cincinnati
Sounds like last season's forecast of only 4 wins and a last place finish. However, WVU earned 9 wins and is returning some veteran players with talent.
I’m not a fan, but BYU seems too low. They beat Arkansas and had a couple good seasons before that. This is conference is tough to rank!
I agree with maybe 30% of your predictions. Otherwise, I would say you were high when you put it together.
We will see!
I’m interested to hear which teams you are most surprised by?
I'm a UTAH fan so it kills me to say this but I think you are sleeping on Byu. They are tough as nails and there head coach will always find a way to keep those boys competing.
Paused Free Bird just to listen to where Kstate matches up, liked it and then went back to listening to Free Bird thinking about how much I enjoy Josh talk about Kstate and storm chasing
Utah fan so yalready know i agree.. but i think byu is gonna shock people they definitely going to be top half soon.
Them not being the only team on mountain time this year will unfortunately help them a lot
As a KU fan BYU was ranked way to low they are a solid program.
If BigXII could somehow pull off adding FSU/Clem/Lou/Miami....BigXII name still makes sense...That'd give them 12 states.
The more you know.
If it was team rankings going into next year, instead of program rankings, I'd think Colorado and Arizona would both be top 5.
CU hasn’t proved a single thing despite all the talent they have and Arizona lost their HC that’s a huge factor.
@@cjboyer4355 I think the quarterback play alone from those two schools, with Shedeur and Noah Fifita, will be enough to land in the upper half of the conference. They really just need a decent defense.
@@JawnyJawnsonIII Shedur led his team to a 4-7 record with playmakers all around him I’m not not saying he’s not good but QB play only takes you so far.
@@cjboyer4355 I completely agree. I think that a year of experience for Deion and his staff, his players, + the portal additions they've made... I just see them continuing a steady incline. But, wouldn't be shocked if they plateaued either and went 5-7.
@@cjboyer4355 Also, their Oline was one of if not the worst in the country. So only up from there regarding improvement for that unit, which will help Shedeur tremendously.

Texas Tech at 4 when they haven't won more than 8 games since 2008 is ridiculous. Even the teams you have listed as tier 4 have all won 9 or more games in that timeframe.

Texas Tech in the top tier almost loses this video’s credibility completely. So, 7-6, 8-5, and 7-6 records outperforms the only team in the conference to win a playoff game, ever? Come on, man! TCU embarrassed themselves last year, but tech does that pretty much every year. TCU is in the mix with the other top programs.
We shall see on Utah, too. I don’t think they outclass K-State, Ok-State, or TCU.
Utah average recruiting class ranking is 37, behind TCU and TTU at 33 and 32, respectively.
I hope TCU can go back into Salt Lake City and put up a score similar to 47-7, like the last time they were there in 2010. 😉 I mean, I doubt it will be that lopsided, but I'll be extremely excited with a TCU win! ✝🐸
Josh, you did pick OSU to make the big 12 champ game last year and lose to UT, so props on that. But I honestly believe OSU makes it back to the champ with Ollie Gordon (best RB in the nation, literally) and 4th most production (77%) in the country on O and D coming back. Just sayin'

I see Colorado Tier 2 and #6 or #7. Coach Prime may lose interest in coaching once his sons leave since they are his motivation. I think this is why Pate says Colorado has some instability.
Texas Tech has no business being in the top tier. What championship game have they been too?
Baylor literally won the conference and a ny6 bowl in the last three years and you have teams that have done nothing ranked above them? Crazy
Baylor literally had 3 losing seasons in the last 4, and you think they're good? They were 3-9 last year, remember?
Tech over TCU is wild
Baylor literally won the conference 2 years ago
And have been bottom feeders ever since.
Baylor lost at home last year to Utahs 4th string Qb…
Baylor's last 4 seasons: 2-7, 12-2, 6-7, 3-9.
Who is going to win the pac 2 championship
Which means they'll play twice and the winner may receive an auto-bid and the loser be inside the top 12. That would result in a chance to play 3 times... all from the PAC 2. 🤦♀
*on my laptop-able to type a lot sorry about the read*
Oklahoma State is always slept on. No they haven't won a major game in awhile, but they repeatedly defy expectations, give ranked teams a run for their money, have 9+ win seasons, always in the race for the Big 12 title.
Kansas State was neck and neck with Texas for their entire tenure and was the most successful against Oklahoma right with Texas, all the while having virtually zero national attention or near the amount of resources or recruiting Texas had, which I think is a testament to how good the program is and could be if they had said resources.
Utah and Kstate are virtually the same schools. Not the most money, Not the best recruiting, wins conference title games or is always in the running, upsets top teams repeatedly, but never goes the distance or comes up just short.
TCU I honestly feel bad for. They have probably been the most successful school outside of Oklahoma in the Big 12 in the last decade+, yet no one acknowledges it, being they were screwed out of the playoffs and BCS title games multiple times and thus never got the recognition for their success, even though they obliterated the famed SEC in Ole Miss (who repeatedly gets handled by big 12 teams in bowl games), and then even beat a blue blood in Michigan but because of the National title collapse are still seen as irrelevant.
It bothers me how little y'all seem to care about the Big 12 when it is repeatedly the most entertaining. You don't know what's going to happen. SEC and BIG are the most predictable conferences in the country. Its going to be Michigan or Ohio State, and Alabama, LSU, or Georgia. That's it.
When i was growing up i would have thought you were crazy if you had told me the Kansas teams and Missouri would have better football programs than Oklahoma and Nebraska.
I enjoyed the video and I think we are about to see if the PAC was as bad as talked about the last 5-10 years. I'm a Big 12 guy and feel the PAC schools are in for an awakening, but we will see soon enough. The game that has me the most intrigued is the Utah at Okie State, as that stadium with the students on the visitor's back with a well coached disciplined team is a tough place for pretty much everyone. And we get that matchup pretty early.
Cincy ranking makes no sense to me when you say the last three years matter. If you want to say Satterfield is the worst coach in the conference. Ya. He probably is.
I think Tech is correct at 4, but probably should be Tier 2. I think they sit better with TCU, Kansas, and UCF than they do with the Top 3 right now.
@jaminhughes7507 I'm not going to argue much, as I am in make it or break it mode in season 3 of our new HC, but if you listen to Josh Pate, he is going off of HS recruiting. We have to see it play out on the field, but the potential is definitely there. I am not being a homer as after last September, I refuse to get excited until we see it actually happen.
Outside of 1 of Tuberville's 3 classes, our past coaches recruited horribly, well, KK was hit or miss, McGuire came in and had 3 commits the night before his introduction presser and finished with a 43rd rated class, according to On3. That is not great, but not bad for a new head coach. Then McGuire followed that up with the 28th and 23rd class, including as near a can't miss All American as you can get in Micah Hudson. Where we haven't seen development is on the O, but replacing the OL coach may help with that.
The supposed talent is there, which is what Josh Pate is going off of. Sadly, I think our OC is holding us back, which is a tricky situation as his dad is on the Mt Rushmore of Tech coaches by taking our poor track program & turning it into a NC and perennial Big 12 power. He needs to show much improvement this season and he is running out of excuses.
TCU only program in the Big 12 with a playoff victory, but yea Tier 2 😂😂😂
To be fair, we went 5-7 and we have no idea what Sonny will do this season. His track record at other schools isn't stellar. Will TCU go undefeated in regular season again? (Please, Lord, 🙏 yes!) Will they barely make 6-6? I'm cautiously optimistic that our new defensive coordinator will help us win more games and win by more than one freaking possession. I don't mind being the first T2 team. Let us be underrated again only to come out higher up. I'm really surprised he put WVU and BYU below CU.
Regardless, we have season tickets and will be there this year cheering on our team. Glory to God! Go Frogs! ✝🐸
BYU way too low
Auburn really set their program back when they fired Gus Malzone and brought in a bum.
I think Texas tech is too high, maybe tier 2 or 3. I think UCF definitely has upside but i don't think tier 2 is fair currently, i don't see them better than any tier 3 program other than Colorado. I am ok with WVU being tier 3 until they prove on field consistency, however, I think WVU should be higher than Colorado and UCF.
None of those teams you mentioned are better than Colorado. Remember this comment
@@TheIkeman74 oh I will remember this comment. 😈

I think tech should be top 3 were talking program recruiting is on the rise facility's is among the best in country #1 in big 12 and money is coming in from donors Colorado should be tier 2 base on money coming in and recruiting just like tech need to see it on the field.
While I like Tech (my parents met there), they haven't won more than 8 games in a season since 2009. The media hypes them up, but they don't outperform. (Eight wins is good for a program, but it's not "Top 4" material).

I am not trying to oversell Colorado in any way but in my opinion you have them to low. One they have one of the best quarterbacks in the conference. Two they have one of the best skill position groups in the conference. 3 the have elite pass rushers headlined by BJ Green and, Samuel Okunlola. 4 they have an elite secondary including Travis Hunter, Cormani McClain and, Preston Hodge. I know this is a big if but, if Colorado’s offensive line is improved this year they can make some serious noise. The have added the best interior lineman from the portal and, the best offensive tackle from the high school ranks. If they come together and, produce they can have a much better offensive line this year. I am interested to see how CU’s defense looks because they have all the makings of a good defense. I think they will be better than expected
Your throwing the word "elite" around very loosley
@@aroncampos5720 Travis Hunter proved what he can do last year. Preston Hodge was arguably one of the best nickel corner last season. Cormani McClain is the question mark but, I have believe he will be good especially in his second season. Pretty funny seeing the big twelve slow crumble since Nebraska left. K state used to put together a few really good tough teams with Schneider in charge. But being the #2 program in the conference just seems funny. I do enjoy seeing them succeed though.
Do you find it just as funny that Nebraska crumbled after they left? Big 12 will be fine. Every time someone thinks the conference is done, they just get bigger.

Iowa State has finished lower than 4th in the standings only twice in the Campbell era, the same number as K State, Oklahoma State, and Texas, and fewer times than everyone else in the conference except OU in that same timeframe. They also have one conference champ appearance which everyone seems to forget.
Only considering conference games, they are without a doubt a top 5 program in the Big 12. But they struggle with non-con games so they get dropped.
ISU agreed to play Ohio U from the MAC for a three game series- one game in Athens and two in Ames The road game in Athens turned out to be a huge disappointment for Cyclone fans when they were upset. Beware of OOC road games with P5's or mid-majors.
@@fwilliamcony28 Both of ISU’s P5 non-con opponents the past couple years have won 10+ games. That Ohio game this season caused ISU to change their offensive philosophy mid-season. Looks like it worked given they averaged almost 30 ppg and never came out of a red zone possession without points in their conference games.
@@thegoldbergguy9677 Thanks for your response and I'm glad to hear that something positive came out of that game in Athens, O. My sense is that the OU Bobcats will not enjoy any success in their two visits to Ames.
@@fwilliamcony28 Ohio played ISU in Ames in 2022 (ISU won 43-10) and is currently not scheduled to play ISU again for the next 7 seasons at least because ISU has their Group of 5 non-conference opponents set until 2030
Colorado #10🤣😂😁 Top 5 easy! Rankings are not looking too good... Utah #1🤦🏽♀️
Whos better than utah then? It ant colorado
Utah’s right where they belong!
@@818MEX we shall see!
WVU way to low
Over the past three seasons it’s a fair assessment
@@tjsutphin9855 Hard to forget the projection of 4 wins last season and a last place finish. It turned out to be a 9 game winning season and Top 25 ranking in the Coaches poll and Top 30 ranking in the AP poll. To be fair, give less weight to 2-3 seasons ago and more focus on the success of last season.
Iowa State should be higher just because of Purdy. 😁
And the fact that Rocco has actually beaten some of Purdy's records! But, as all of us Cyclones know, sports media loves to underestimate and ignore ISU.
Beat Iowa, for crying out loud! They have a 2:1 ratio over you.
Arizona should be higher and Texas Tech should be lower. Pretty good list overall though
Lol, Buffs fans thinking they'll run Big-12
They will have something to say about it. Does that work better for you? In two more years, it will be Utah n Colorado conference
Stay tuned. Get tissue ready. Sko Buffs!!
"Guys, we're going 15-0 in Deion's first year! Okay, not his first year, but his _second_ year we're winning the conference. Okay, not the second year, but in the _third_ year we'll be in the conference playoffs." - CU fanboys
lol, Utah.
Says the KU fan.. hahahahahaha
B12 fans jealous of Utah already , why like all the B12 fans I see haha
Hatin ahh foo.
I'm here for the Colorado and Coach Prime hate comments from all the klansman🤣
They coming
No hate for prime but be isn't a good coach he really wants to be but he isn't loved him a player but as a coach he isn't committed enough
Look I get it Utah is looking better than my Cougs, but c’mon we did this last year and they went 8-5. BYU had to basically turn back to back 4th quarter 90%+ win probabilities into losses to end the year to not match that.
These rankings are ass backwards
Aranda is horrible
Josh you call the big 12 America's conference who is there blue blood team in 2024?I know Oklahoma State has an imaginary Natty how many top 10 teams all time are in the big 12???Oh none America's conference my butt
This just proves that the ACC is head and shoulders above Big 12
Proves FL St. is way above the Big 12 and the ACC, which is why they are gone. Louisville is not head and shoulders above OK. State.
@@earlygenesistherevealedcos1982 Clemson, Miami and Louisville would all be in top 3 of Big 12
Louisville had a great year last year. And Arizona was still ranked above them. And OK St. was ranked above Miami and Clemson despite it having a regular year on its standards. Clemson has a great past but they are not adjusting well to the new realities of college football and both Clemson and Miami should be rated below Utah based on performance the last three years.
I do think Miami is going to turn it around, and Clemson can probably adjust though not return to what they were. But right now, no, those would not be the top three in the Big 12, although there is a chance all three wind up in the Big 12 soon so we may find out! @@hjhorn11
Big 12 > ACC
@@hjhorn11Utah tops all three. We keep hearing about Miami, year after year but bupkis. Each year they have a “top” QB and then nothing. Mario is junk.
What garbage. BYU fan. Yes there’s alot of us. Oh well
I agree with the number one spot but everyone else is wrong or in the wrong place. This guy is a clown. 🤡. I mean Texas Tech has not won an outright conference championship in over 70 years. I would go power rankings as follows based on this guy’s criteria and this is subjective to change over the years obviously as who takes advantage of the new system and opportunities and rules and lack thereof:
1. Utah
2. UCF
3. KSt
4. Houston
5. TCU
6. OkSt
7. WVU (top 15 in wins & %)
8. Baylor
9. BYU
10. Texas Tech
11. Arizona
12. Cincinnati
13. Arizona State
14. Iowa State
15. Kansas
16. Colorado
Are you on drugs? 4-8 Houston at #4? Kansas at #15? Baylor at 8? UCF at #2? WTF are you smoking? 🕵
