    G'day everyone. I'm really looking forward to showing you the rest of this trip. So many great moments and places to explore. I hope you get a real sense of location and a desire to explore yourself. I'm a new film maker, the only way people will find my work is if you guys share it with your friends and family. It would mean the world to me if you would share this video with your friends via Facebook or other social media. Thank You :D

    Our son told us about your videos. We started on CSR and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed following the journey down the CSR. I have spent a fairly long time (48 years) in the Army and had the pleasure of seeing a fair bit of this country but nothing like your coverage so far. We have both recently retired and have a 100 series set up for towing the van. Clearly a trip like CSR is not van territory so the tent would come out. Anyway mate, just wanted to let you know we enjoyed your videos. Just went out and bought Chromecast so we can sit back and watch the Kimberley series on TV here, and as we travel. Tonight, Kimberley Episode 1 and no doubt, a few more. ;) All the best, Dan.

    Hi Gav, I note your scratching up your bus there a bit, I might mention if you drop in to a good auto shop you can get what is called an AUTO WRAP, basically its a vinyl sheet that you can stick to the side of the bus and it will protect your paint work and save you some nasty scratches surface rust etc and you just peel it off at a later date saves you a bit of trade in value for later... as alway mate your doing a great job out there keep up the great work.

    • @GavinGillett
      @GavinGillett  7 лет назад +1

      Cheers mate, I am definitely looking into some options to protect the paintwork a little better, bloody expensive some of those options and I keep choosing another 4wd trip instead of protecting the paint for next time hahah. I'm 4wding more than ever now days and taking a hit like that is inevitable with the places I go so I need to make the money available sooner rather than later I think. Cheers for the recommendation, you're a legend.

    Nice one Gavin. FYI. A few of your shots that pixilate a lot. Like the top shots through the bush at around 13:22 and some gopro bonnet shots. My guess is that that's Adobe Media Composer doing that. Its a bug that they have had for four +years. Some very busy shots it fails to render at the def selected, and defaults to an extremely low bitrate.

    • @GavinGillett
      @GavinGillett  7 лет назад +1

      4xoverland bloody legend, thanks for the heads up. I thought it was something I was doing wrong. Something camera side perhaps. I used Di Vinci Resolve to make 100% of this video so that could mean its hardware side if Adobe produces those artifacts but Resolve doesn't.

    Great Stuff Gavin, I admire a solo explorer and filmmaker, takes a lot of effort and it shows!
    One thing I noticed when you're filming yourself, try and sit with your back to the beautiful scenery makes it better for the film :) and you can always break up talking with some gorgeous shots, you got many of those. It's not a criticism just giving you ideas to become greater than you already are!

    • @GavinGillett
      @GavinGillett  7 лет назад +1

      Icing FB Cheers mate, I know what you mean. I even know what shot you're talking about. I was selfishly hogging the view while chatting to you hahah. I'm an Overlander first and a film maker second but it's something I nees to be mindful of hahah

    • @icingfeestbeest
      @icingfeestbeest 7 лет назад +1

      SummitX.net yeah I know been there and loved the scenery, there's so much beauty, capturing it all on film takes discipline, gotta keep the right balance between our enjoyment for ones selfish desire to experience it and capturing to share.
      But keep on sharing, love watching your videos now that I'm all the way back in Germany, I can't really pop over to get to cape levique again 😉

      SummitX.net isn't the musicians paradox. Your music increases in popularity after you are no longer here. I have not seen a RUclips producers paradox yet so it's probably worth letting someone else be the leader.

      They probably couldn`t see which button they were pressing through their green eyes of envy. On another note, how do you find the rhino rack with backbone? Has it handled the corrugations ok?

    • @GavinGillett
      @GavinGillett  7 лет назад +1

      G'day mate, I'v had the backbone on mine for about 50,000kms now and its been flawless. Even with a lot of weight on the roof and the tough conditions of the 6 week Kimberley/ CSR trip its never let me down so I can happily recommend them.

    The only other country I would want to live besides the good ole USA! I just don’t like the taxes down under! Oh and I dislike the fact your government can say to hell what the people think...we’ll impose what we want when we want to!!

    • @GavinGillett
      @GavinGillett  5 лет назад

      Hi Port, thanks for the message. I think you will find the reason we pay higher taxes is because our country is almost as big as the USA but we have 10% of it's population to pay for the infrastructure roads, power, water ext.
      Also, we have the same representative government style as yourself. Ours is a combination of the UK and US systems but no government here can pass anything at will. In fact we dont have an executive order system like the US where the President can sign a document and make something happen. So I dont think your impression of our Government systems are very accurate.
      Hope you get to explore Australia some day. I will be in the US next month

    Mate there are so many 4x4 shows here the sence is another 4x4 video. Ok you spend a lot of time and money good on you. You need to find something different more interesting. There is really no place remote anymore unless you go east to west and that would be boring. There are thousands of 4x4 out there we are all going every where. Your upside is your international views,us Australians we been there and done that
    or going to.

      You think I make these video's for you or the public but I actually dont. I make these primarily for my 3yo son. I have that in one of my early videos but perhaps I need to put that out there again.
      Thank you for your comment though.
