I still can't tell if I'm an ENFJ or INFJ. I feel like when I'm feeling good in life, I'm an ENFJ. But when I'm not feeling so great, I'm an INFJ. And I feel like I'm an ENFJ only if I like the crowd that I'm in.

Well, what matters most is who you are when you feel good - - when anxious it makes sense for an ENFJ to act and feel introverted.

Check out CS Joseph’s comparison of the two. Check out more comparisons out there.
One way to tell us apart. If you are an ENFJ, when stressed you will do these three things:
      1. Have an FE-SE Loop (you can search for info on this) 2. Or really stressed, have infantile TI completely take over FE as your sole driver. And have the worse logic ever, but have it just take over your Fe, and then you are very cold and think you are right, but infantile Ti is most likely not right, and just shit the other person down with cold inaccurate, righteous logic. Becoming practically the opposite of the Fe dominate that an enfj is! 3. You forget to use your Ni. So you realize that you haven’t taken enough time alone! To feel your intuition, that you are bogged down by what others think, and tell you what to do, going out and childishly having too much fun with people and food and adventures and sensations.
For INFJ: In stress. 1. You have an Ni-Ti loop. You withdrawal and over intuit and over think and over intuit and over think. On the inside of you your thoughts and intuition are having a ping-pong match. It’s like sliding down a dark vortex inside of you and knowing/feeling all. When Ti is in the child position, what it thinks is always usually inaccurate in the way that a child can be just so transparent. (With ENFJ having this in the infant position - they aren’t as accurate and it can go wrong). If really stressed, than Se will take over Ni, and the INFJ will ignore its intuition and think they are good as going out there and partying, drinking, perhaps something sexual, or sensual, food, any sensation, but this basically just making poor decisions, thinking we can handle it and we are good at the life on the edge, or escaping in any sensation filled way.., and we can’t handle it, so it’s harmful to us, all whist we ignore our intuition. 3. We ignore Fe. We can be so wrapped up in ourselves and inner world and doing surface level Se still, that we realize what we really need to to feel better is to maybe spend time with family or dear friends or do something for someone else, tend to someone else to feel good, as a healthier way of escaping our intense inner worlds.

    INFJ.
Started out testing as (in free tests) and identifying strongly with INTJ. Didn't pay much attention to MBTI in those days plus as a scientist it made sense I would be INTJ...until I kept trying to bring people into my big ideas/patents and committees. To the point that several people in different aspects of my work life were telling me at the same time that I need to be less focused on others and less sharing in case someone stole my ideas. WHAT?
Especially because it wasn't all from similar sources, I decided to experiment with being more self-centered. Lasted less than 2 weeks. Horrible. Motivation and productivity at work productivity plummeted.
But how could so many people I trusted be wrong? They weren't. I needed to focus on things that helped others but also HELPED ME! Life changing lesson! Obviously INFJ and regularly identified and tested that way for decades later. But invested significant time, especially later, in being more extroverted. Meeting with a friend at least once per week (except Winter), and organizing get-togethers. Several extroverted friends praised my ability to get diverse teams/individuals together better than they could.
Oh my, am I turning into an ENFJ? I pondered it. LOL! No way!
As an ex-coworker/friend put it, "If you have to work at being extroverted, then you obviously aren't a natural introvert."
Related is that I hit work burnout recently due to getting the help I needed (after being close to burnout due to not getting help I needed) but in the form of an employee who actually takes more time than she helps. She is getting better, but she is way slower than others I have worked with.
People both support and laugh with me that I currently have a PLAN HOW TO CHILL (taking an actual lunch break, limiting after work hours, etc.)...planning being often the opposite of chilling. Those Simpletons. 😎 So glad I can laugh at myself.

    • @advantphoenix7892

@@mooh2802 I disagree, people with Fi at their first function are objectively more emotional. If you were to say something that directly contrasts what they believe in, they would get emotional and defensive. And this goes for ESFP and ENFP who have Fi at the second function. ENFJ's like myself are emotional but over time, I've definitely learned how to get better at being more stoic and less emotional.

You are so right about knowing yourself better. I have tested every NF type, yet when I looked at introverted feeling I knew that wasn't me. For a while, I was thinking that I was an ENFJ, but I'm actually leaning more towards INFJ now. I do think that I've come to put myself out there more over the years, but that hasn't always been the case, and I would say that people I went to high school with (for instance) would call me more quiet and reserved. I think that perhaps I confused Extroverted Feeling with being an extrovert because Fe can be so interested in people. At the end of the day, I would much rather recharge alone though, and even my INTJ husband will accuse me of pushing him away for some alone time. I work in a helping profession, and sometimes by the end of the day, I just don't want to have to think about anyone's feelings or needs but my own.

Thank you for all of your videos. A few videos ago I was able to better discern my MB type, as I kept testing between ENFP and ENFJ. I took a more detailed personality and the results were indeed ENFJ as I found relationships and people, resources and surroundings were all very very important to me as well as moral direction. I have a good friend who is an infj and he and I are similar and different in many ways. I asked him once if he ever got a headache after being around others for a long period of time. He actually laughed and replied “No, because I don’t go out. I don’t know how else to answer that lol” 😂 he also is more open minded than I am

According to Linda Berens, ENFJs are primarily Choleric temperament, Dominant DiSC style, In Charge interaction style. INFJs are primarly Melancholic temperament, Compliant DiSC stye, Chart the Course interaction style. So basically you need to do test and study those 2 variants that are related across those personality theories. I have always got the first, so I know for sure I am ENFJ.

    “best”
I like people, I love people and I love feeling like I help out. But honestly I just kinda wish people could take care of themselves by following simple principles and trying to keep peace. Keeping friendgroups and merging them is soo incredibly exhausting.
Unfortunately I cannot help people without having contact. I wanna express through my art but I fear it may not affect positively to certain people.
Hanging out feels like the route to go. But ugh I can last so very little… ):
One day I’ll figure it out. Or I’ll create a secret account to post my art and see if anyone can sort of relate to it and it helps out.

But I think the self-talking was a survival mechanism that I learned as a child. Hearing you explain the differences reassured me that I didn't make a poor judgement call as to the more resonating type. "Thinking about things for a very long time but never doing anything about it"
This is something my mother was never able to get; always referred to me as phlegmatic and too passive for not being able to put anything into action.
I always ponder so much over how others would react, what the best approach would be, what they'll most likely misunderstand, how I should avoid this, rearrange that, know exactly which parts they'll have trouble following through, and then form a decision by taking possibly everything into account, but still have others dismiss me for being insensitive because of their inability to see how any other outcome would have been way worse. Nothing sucks more than being told "you don't care" about things you spent so much time thinking about.
Also, I've read that having aux Fe can make discerning your own feelings inside very difficult and that the shadow Fi will often call out the person for "not having an identity, not being able to tell your own feelings apart, not being able to stand for something" and I honestly relate to that a lot.
I have a very hard time typing myself because I probably go in too deep with my analysis so I keep seeing the reasons why "this may actually be that" or "what if I answered that question differently due to xy". I simply can't make out what I'm feeling, struggle putting it into words or seeing it clearly, and when I attempt to do so the shadow Ne comes through and starts making up the possibilities on the spot, which often don't make sense and don't even align with how I feel. I feel insecure making a statement I'm not certain about, and the more inconsistencies I see the more sceptic I become :/
At times I'll be quite charming, outgoing, very fluid with my movements and generally operate better in larger groups (pointing towards enfj), but when I'm not taking my pills I get to the point of appearing socially inept and very awkward with both body language and word phrasing, and 1v1's with people are extremely difficult.

Me and my cousin are having a difficult time figuring out her type lol. We both are truly ambiverts and are extremely similar, but after and couple of months of typology research I am quite confident that I’m an INFJ. I thought she was too but she took a few test and after some not so accurate results (including ISFP and a few ENFP), the test where she tested as an ENFJ made the most sense considering that they are the same functions with a different stacking. The only thing that isn’t fitting is the whole good guy friendly profile thing. She is often perceived as “cold”, “unapproachable”, or “standoffish”, even more so than me. She also might not do too well with sudden change and is not going to be the one to take on a leadership role in a situation, in fact she often ask me to do it. However, she is more upfront about asking people questions and getting to the bottom of their feelings and opinions on things. She is also less reluctant on expressing her honest opinion compared to me hence the dominant Fe. She focuses less on her intuition than I would as well and is more grounded in reality. I want to add that she is less likely to be mistaken for a thinking type than I am. I am often confused for being an INTJ amongst our friends, even by my friend who actually is an INTJ.

I don't think I'm either one of those, but rather a combination. And I believe I'm not the only one, as us humans are complex and there are many different aspects to our personalities. My past, my upbringing and background, my experiences and the people I've known so far, all these make up the person that I am. I can easily express myself at times, or avoid it at all costs at other times. It depends on the people I'm with, or if I want to be among other people at all. My mood changes according to what I want my day/situation to be. I'm very organized and structured in my work, but only if I make my own rules and stick to my knowledge. I tend to work alone and prefer being a freelancer, however, I like to meet different people and work outside in a dynamic-but-quite-silent environment. I just set up my mind, goals, activities and daily routine according to what I feel like, or according to a certain goal I want to achieve. Therefore, there are times in my life when I'm busy on a daily basis and having a chain of thought not to be broken by anyone else, and there are times when I like to chill and receive vibes from everything around me. And sometimes I just stay home with myself, indulging in some fun alone activity just like now, watching psychology and personality videos, writing down my thoughts, having good time with myself, learning a lot. Yesterday I was more into communication with strangers, and the day before I went on a short family trip. Today I feel like being alone, and tomorrow I want to be out with friends. That's how my life is, it's all about different rhythms and intervals - sometimes high, sometimes low, sometimes outside and sometimes at home. So I can't really judge myself according to one or two personality types, and many of the questions on the test are often make me click "neutral" because I can't tell if I'm necessarily one way or the other. I'm usually a combination or on a different scale of my answer according to my situation in life or my relationships with people.
I don't think we can, or should, box ourselves into one type of personality.
We're constantly changing and our lives are constantly evolving.

I think the problem with Extroverted Intuition types is not that they do not 'dare' to invest themselves or commit themselves to their ideas, but rather that they have *an extremely short time they are actually interested in their own ideas* . They are novelty seeking types that love to explore new ideas, but when the novelty wears off, their excitement and drive wears off too. Types like ENTP are quite daring, so that is really not the problem, but rather that they have other new ideas that already grab their interest and do again give them that 'high' instead of their older ideas that no longer do. In a sense they're *novelty-seeking-junkies*
Unlike types like INFJ's , Ne-users care less about being wrong or doing something stupid. Ne users usually are fine with making mistakes, because they know they are pretty much testing stuff out the entire time. That's the whole point of the function. They like to explore and try out stuff, and a part of trying out new things out is to fail. Ni types tend to avoid failing a lot more because they would feel incompetent, and will do their best not to fail and be prepared for whatever is coming, because they have that one singular vision they want to achieve. However, Ne users are more like children who learn things, and fall and get up and it really does does matter much to them at all...
I think that part of this video is really viewed from an INFJ (Ni) sort of perspecitve, and copy+pasted on a Ne user, while their goals and fears are completly different.

I wish greatly that people would understand how the hierarchy of functions serve one another in specific patterns rather than expect progressively sealing, almost random usage. I believe, though, that this is a natural byproduct of a greater population of Ne/si and Si/Ne users than Ni/Se or Se/Ni (though many Se/Ni don't involve themselves as much in psychoanylytical theory out of practical means, I assume.)

As an ENFJ having an INFJ friend, we sometimes feel like having the same brain. We have almost everything similar. The only difference is kinda like the drive, i tend to experience things and learn from it, while he is like more think everything in brain before going out there. More like i use my Se lot more than Ti while he uses Ti more than Se. So i regret using my Ti for the Se things I've done, not taking enough time to make that decision. But he is like regretting for missing out on opportunities.

Hmm, maybe the reason he refers ENFJ as an actor (In a good way) is we are adapting on others personality to make them comfortable. ENFJs are very flexible and we easily pick up personalities of others, just like an actor portraying the character that was given to him. That's why most ENFJs, including myself and the ones that I encounter don't know who really they are and thinks they are fake, but that's just how we (ENFJ) works.

Okay now I’m still confused. I’ve also tested between ENFJ and INFJ. For context, my grandpa is an INFJ, and my sister is an ENFJ. Which is even more confusing for me. My sister is definitely the type to have big dreams but not be willing to do the heavy thinking that comes with that. My grandpa is a by the book INFJ. He has long and dramatic self reflection. I love both of these aspects of these people. But I am not like either of them. I share some qualities and have always drawn similarities between my grandpa and I. But I am an ambivert. So I guess I’m somewhere in the middle
