Hey Max, awesome Video, i like your approach by try have everything perfect before you even do the first cast. It is sooooo important to be prepared, this is unfortunately very underrated especially by beginners. The part with a safe stand or as I like to call it the "personal dancing area" against the fish is really important even out of scope of roc fishing. Always think if and how you can fight and land the fish before you do the cast. I like the tutorials you do. really nice, keep on coming. Best Regards Stephan

thank you for your detailed comment! Yes indeed it needs some practice to follow these steps as well as patience when arriving at a spot. In fishing there are many things you might do as a jungblood without prospect of success, you wouldn't do later on.
In shore jigging, at least here in the Mediterranean Sea, these big fish don't come every day so it would be sad to loose them out of stupidity.

Einmal das ganze A&O durchgeackert. Das meiste habe ich mir durch meine Erfahrung angesammelt, dennoch sind die ganzen erwähnten Parts von Dir ein richtig guter Überblick. Meinst du die Rettungsweste kann man mobil auf Reisen im Gepäck mitnehmen? 40lb Fluro sind 0.55mm?
Wie ich das richtig verstanden habe, sind Amberjacks unter Wasser jagend recht mobil unterwegs. Heißt an einem Spot länger zu verweilen, macht Sinn, auch wenn nach den ersten Würfen nichts beisst? Ich habe zich Amberjacks mit Oberflächenködern gefangen, da war es enorm wichtig den Fisch über Strecke und (insbesondere an der Kante) zu suchen. Dadurch, dass es allerdings fürs Jiggen nur meist wenig gute Stellen im unmittelbaren Umkreis mit tiefem Wasser gibt, ist das nicht so einfach möglich. Wie ist dazu deine Einschätzung?
Ansonsten freut es mich immer deine Videos zu sehen, gut erklärt und umfassend, immer etwas schlauer um es dann im nächsten Greece Urlaub wieder anwenden zu können.

Beim Shore Jiggen bleibt man in der Regel an einem Platz über Stunden, ich habe es schon so oft erfahren, dass erst zu einer bestimmten Zeit die Bisse kamen und man vorher dort lange Zeit nichts hatte. Um eine möglichst gute Chance auf einen Biss zu haben wählt man möglichst neuralgische Punkte an denen die Fische vorbeikommen müssen!

@@maxdocken Im Süden Kretas konnte ich viele an Steinplateus im Wasser verhaften - eigentlich ausschließlich mit länglichen weißen Oberflächen Pencils. Das haben die geliebt. Aber ja, wenn in den ersten vier Würfen kein Biss, etwas weiter gehen. Wenn du das bei Google eingibst, wirst du fündig: >duo bay ruf manic< am besten in weiß, mit roter Spitze. Ähnlich wie mahi mahi angeln, nur an den Strukturen. Aber ja, an den Felsen lauern nicht die Riesen. 2-3 kg max👍🙏

Wie siehst du es mit der Tiefe bis zu welcher Tiefe fischst du TW?

@@maxdocken Kann schon bei drei, vier Meter losgehen. Wichtig ist die Struktur, heißt kleine Felsen im Wasser. Manchmal fange ich sie auch, indem ich einfach an einem Vorsprung rechts und links an der Küste an den Felsen lang fische. Verstecken sich dann in kleinen Spalten und stürmen raus
So hab ich es vermutet. Die AJ ziehen an den Strukturen entlang und suchen nach Beute! Ich hatte meinen damals allerdings im Freiwasser bei ca. 18-20m auf Popper. Definitiv ein besserer Fisch - allerdings hat mich die fehlende Erfahrung den Fisch gekostet... 💩

@ no it is not with compressed air and I don't recommend it. The reason is when you are in the water and you try to get back on shore it can easily happen the the air balloons get flat when touching the sharp rocks. In fact you loose your life west in the moment you need it.

I use for my shore jigging a Daiwa Catalina 4500 H (old size), I think the Authority 4500 in high speed version could be a powerful reel for shore jigging, although I haven't tried it myself. At the moment I fish mostly Shimano Twin Power Reels, for me they are the best value for money.

vielen Dank für dein ausführliches Kommentar. Als Verbindung von Leader und Solid nutze ich den Chain Knot. Das ist ein Palomar Knoten am Solidring und dann ein paar halbe Schläge das Vorfach hoch. 😃

August is in general a difficult month, not only because of high temperatures but also because of a lot of traffic around the coastline. To find drop offs I suggest to use Navionics. 👌
Regarding baitfish. From my experience I caught fish when seeing baitfish and when I didn't see any, I don't care too much about it anymore.

Wenn du mit Jigs auf Amberjackjagd gehen willst empfiehlt sich eine spezielle Rute dafür. Das hat den Hintergrund, dass die Animation der Jigs sehr technisch ist und es aus viele Feinheiten ankommt, wenn das Gerät nicht stimmt, dann wir es umso schwieriger.
Zu den Felsen - ja Amberjack fängt man am besten von den Felsen. Es gibt zwar auch Bereich wo sie in flaches Wasser kommen und z.B. auf Sand unterwegs sind, allerdings muss man dann ganz genau wissen wann und wo.
Einfacher hast du es wenn du von den Felsen nach ihnen suchst.
Das mit den Zielfischen ist eine gute Idee, da habe ich schon was in Planung! 😁

Best season is definitely spring and autumn, autumn is my favourite because there is a higher number of fish, chances of big fish is in spring higher but you have also a lot of other risks, so I prefer autumn! Regarding the conditions I prefer calm sea with low currents and a cloudy sky! 😁

wow 20 kg Amberjack is really something! These fish are super powerful and not easy to stop - how a fight ends is also depending a lot on the structure at the spot. Regarding the rod, I don't know it but it seems powerful - a challenge will be to fish this heavy equipment all day long! Wish you luck for the AJ of your dreams! 🙌

@@EzraShani if you don't want to fish with the Shore Jigging technique it's OK I believe. For Jigs the line retrieve is to high, it would be very exhausting.

Hi Max. Mal wieder ein top Video von dir. Eventuell kannst du mir für meinen kommenden Griechenland Urlaub weiterhelfen.
Ich bin mit der Familie (leider kein Angelurlaub 😂) in Chalkidiki/ Kassandra unterwegs. Da die Kinder einen sicherlich gut einnehmen werden, möchte ich die kurze Angelzeit so effektiv wie möglich nutzen. Wir sind ab dem 16.09. für 8 Tage vor Ort. Ich denke, dass ich hauptsächlich am Strand und an einem kleinen Hafen in der Nähe unterwegs sein werde. Eventuell auch mal an einem Steilhang, wenn ich entbunden werden kann.
Ködertechnisch habe ich schlanke Wobbler, klassische Meeresjigs, Needlesticks + Chizzlesticks (vom Raubfischer falls bekannt), Popper für Top Water und und und im Repertoire. Denke da bin ich schon gut aufgestellt.
Ich habe 2 Reiseruten von SPRO mit jeweils Daiwa BG (4000 und 3000er) bestückt. Eine davon bis 110 g/ 2,70m und eine bis 30 g/ 2,40m Wurfgewicht. Die 30 g Rute sehe ich dabei lediglich als Ergänzung. Mein Ziel ist es schon weit rauszukommen. Ich werde daher eher die 110 g Rute verwenden.
Ich hoffe ich habe hier nicht zu weit ausgeholt. Eventuell brauchst du aber noch weitere Informationen für eine Aussage. Bin über jeden Tipp dankbar, den du mir geben kannst. Beste Grüße an dich ! Eddie

ich fasse es mal zusammen.
Du hast ein spinning Setup dabei mit dem du z.B. auf Wolfsbarsch, Barrakuda, Leerfish, angeln kannst. Dafür sind deine Wobbler und Topwater Baits top! 👌
Dein jigging setup ist etwas leichter als man es standardmäßig verwendet, allerdings ist es in deiner Gegend auch eher flach. Felsenküste und markanten Strukturen ist das was du brauchst, du solltest darauf achten tieferes Wasser zu haben ~ 20 m. Du kannst z.B. Tunnies, Mahi Mahi oder auch Amberjack, Grouper, Dentex und co fangen.
Allerdings wird für dich die Herausforderung sein die Fische zu finden und in die Technik einzuarbeiten.
Mein Tipp für dich: Spiele mit den Zeiten, den Techniken und schau, dass du gute Bedingungen findest.
Mit der Spinning hast du sicher mehr Chancen.

Ich habe mir über C-MAP Genesis eine Tiefenkarte gezogen und gesehen, dass es in der Nähe eine Felsenküste mit 25-33 Meter Tiefe in Wurfweite gibt. Ich Vergangenheit hat sich bei mir am Meer der Kastmaster und der Deadly Dig Lure ganz gut gemacht. Werde es damit, aber auch mit langen schlankeren Blinker versuchen. Ich melde mich dann hoffentlich mit nem positiven Ergebnis. Grüße !

@@eddiema4988 das hängt ganz vom Tackle ab. 10-15 m fische ich gerne mit 30-40g, 15-20 m mit 60 - 80 g, 20 - 35 mit 80 - 120 g das sind die Gewichte die ich hauptsächlich fische.

the Zenaq Sonio 93 M is a great rod! It's definitely a great tool to fish here in Greece! Have you seen my comparison video of Sonio 100 M and 93 M?
Also I suggest to check my playlists, so you get an idea what the 93 M is capable of! For a reel I would choose a 6000 H size, that gives you the best all round opportunities .

my favourite weather is calm with some big clouds in the sky. Regarding tides I prefer no to low current, thats what worked best for me. The best season for AJ is definitely Autumn! ...can't wait! 🤗

@@maxdocken In my poor experience the best time is late autumn and winter (depends on the place) tides - somewhere in the middle(2/3 days before and after new moon)! Cloudy if possible :) With equal atmospheric pressure..

Should be more in general as for AJ maybe its not right
I have tried it a couple of times. First thing that I noticed, classic (heavy) Shore Jigging equipment here in the Mediterranean Sea is not ideal for this technique. It is much more fun with light equipment but I don't do it often.

Yeah you would need to buy that rod of Palms which isnt cheap. I bought the 992 model and its a bit heavy. Usualy I cast jigs between 20-40 gram, because here in Portugal you dont have AJ . So main target are Seabass/Spotter Seabass (which I love) sometimes the Jewfish and thats it basically. I have had some good results on shoreslow especially since other fishersman didnt catch anything but I did. But maybe it was just luck
@@fabiangallien5269 that sounds great - I believe ist very effective. There are some rods like Zenaq PA90 or Inqlude M9 that would fit this fishing style I believe.
Very interesting that you catch Seabass with this method. I know they strike on jig but I beleave your Atlantic Bass are more suitable for shore slow compared to our Mediterranean Sea Seabass.
