Hi Roger Wet day in Sydney I am sitting here with my three young sons around me watching your channel there eyes full of excitement as we discuss our next fishing trip. Thank you Special time to be a dad
Watching on a cold, wet old Saturday afternoon in Melbourne and the vision of you in those conditions is making be shiver. You are a 'tiger' Roger, your efforts deserve all your successes.
I really enjoy these beach sessions and tutorials Roger but I was thinking it has been some time now since we have seen you in your boat in the estuary. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, I was watching TV, with my rug pulled up saying to myself "Who is that fool out there"? One of your best, Roger. I was tipping a small Mulloway with that flathead. Well done. It sounded like a wife on the camera!!!!
On the Manning at Harrington, you get that brown 'fresh' coming down the length of the breakwater, the tide pushing it back and forth herding the fish downriver in front of it like a sheepdog. You can follow it for a while, but the fishing goes off once you're in the mud.
It is amazing how many fish must be in those waters that you can hook a fish in is back, and another on is side! Consider that the hook might have been turned 90 degrees to the right, or to the left, or even 180 degrees away! There must be soooo many fish in those waters! Oh boy!
I have been following you for a long time but this is truly one of the best sessions I have seen. Pan fry those whiting and flathead and steam those bream with ginger and shallots with some light soy. Very enjoyable to watch and very motivational. Thanks Roger.
Another great video again you show us that with a little thought you can go fishing and catch a nice feed even when the weather is not great thanks Roger
You mentioned losing a few phones, I can suggest an outrak Talca light weight backpack from BCF. They have a very high small pocket inside the back pack at the very top which is good for keeping a phone and keys dry. I use them often casting lures in the surf. My keys and phone are always on me and up high. Might be helpful, thanks for the videos over the years mate.
Great session Roger. In your opening sequence when you are explaining the lake entrance, there are gulls at the mouth of the river over your shoulder. A guaranteed good time! 😊
Great session - thanks Roger. Many a cold winter's morning I've waded across that mouth to get to the NH rocks at the northern end, hoping the water is shallow enough to not reach my belt line. Never seen it opened that deeply though. Hope there's a big bronze slab in your next video!
Super-informative and fun to watch/learn from your video. . Especially helpful were the rings that alert us to the landing site of each cast. Thank you. Laughed at the quip about sitting at home watching TV! The hook above weight and 3-way swivel was new to me - going to try this.
Gday Roger where did you get your rain jacket from ? It’s always one more cast, I even got the number plates 1morecast for my 4wd. l watch your RUclips every Saturday from Graham
Hi Roger, I am at Brooklyn, Hawksberry river, I am so envious and frustrated because yr always using worms and catching heaps of fish. Every show you use worms and catch far more on worns. But what about using a substitute. What is the best substitute for worm is there a plastic or combination of plastic and scent that can be used instead of worm. Like to see you use more of that because a lot of us don't live near a beach and cannot go worming.
Hey man, the reason some of the bream looked different than usual, is because these are actually a completely different species, Black bream. Interestingly black bream are rare in the surf, preferring to stay in estuaries/rivers for life, however during heavy rains they can "wash" out of the river, though they usually try to find their way back in, which I believe is what's happening here. Black bream are usually blackish grey to golden bronze in the rivers, however fish spending time in clearer waters have a violet iridescence which you picked up on well, beautiful fish roger and awesome video as usual🤙
@@RogerOsborneFishing Hi Roger, I'm in Halekulani on Lake Munmorah Central Coast. Fisinng Budgewoi and Birdie beaches. Recently found your channel and I'm enjoying your videos and descriptions. Going to try catching
Great video and love the content! I have watched most of your videos about rigs and can’t seem to find any showing this particular rig with two hooks and a running sinker between them. I would love to see an up close photo or demonstration on how you rig up this way.
I’m from Adelaide, the land based fishing here is not great, you are lucky to get a single undersized salmon trout here. Thanks to you Roger I have gotten better at fishing, but, it still sucks here
Hi Roger Love your videos. ... can I ask a serious question please. ..why is it when we go for a jewy trip down 7 mile or Stockton, one night it's on with many bites, then other times PERFECT WEATHER, NO WIND, PERFECT BAIT, PERFECT TIDE but not a single bit all night, how is that???😫😫 I just can't work it out
hi,roger it would seem that im getting the wrong pdf download?? your latest is not coming up on this video. im getting the last one on reef fishing.and not wild weather tactics.
Hi Roger....Thankyou for your efforts again and informative videos. I fish always the same beach due to my location and would like your opinion on why every time I fish with a 2 hook rig I always get them tangled. I have copied your 2 hook rig, any suggestions?
hi,roger. please can you explain how a bite feels?? in surf conditions. i always battle totell if im getting a bite,or if im just picking up wave movement? its very disconcerting!! im sure im losing tonnes of fish!?
Same as rock fishing you have to keep a certain amount of tension on the line and you learn the difference between the waves pulling and a bite dont let the slack line build up and make sure you are holding the bottom star sinkers are the best for the beach good luck.
Make sure you are using low stretch line, or braid. If you have never used braid before, you feel EVERYTHING and can tell a bite instantly. If you have never used braid, try it, it is amazing. Just use a fluorocarbon leader tied on to the end of your braid. The difference between traditional stretchy (elastic) fishing line and braid is incredible. Platypus is an Aussie brand that make good low stretch fishing line if you don't like braid.
This is so annoying to watch I was fishing on the beach last weekend after watching some of your videos and I was full of confidence, I fished fresh squid, live nippers and pilchards for two days …. Not a single bite I reckon I covered just about every part of the beach 😆 Great videos by the way.
hey mate you do you but in my mind keeping a flatty of that size is crazy, we love the fish in our systems and those bigger flathead are breeders mate, i’ve got no problem keeping fish of course but for me the big dogs always go back.
I would NEVER leave the beach if we had that sort of fishing on our door step. My beaches have herring (tommy rough) almost always, a few tailor (but nothing to write home about), lots of mullet a certain times of the year...., but big fish (flathead over 1 kg don't exist (very very rarely) here in WA 😭..., and Mulloway (where I live) are almost non existant as well.
Try putting your phone in a zip lock sandwich bag it will never drown again I've been doing this for along as ziplock bags have existed and never lost or drowned a phone
Any flathead that big is a female, no point keeping one that big. Better off catching a few smaller models 40-55 and leave the big girls for breeding. Disappointed in Roger.

Hey Roger still enjoying your fishing videos watching from Port hueneme beach CA the pescadores 🎣
Thanks David, Hi from Aus
Congrats Rebecca, hopefully some warm waders!! Great fishing session
Thanks Duncan 👌🏼

I feel like the turbulence would stir up food, hence why most bites in this session were on the top hook. Another great session Roger!

Awesome! Thank you! , mmm ginger and shallots sounds good
Was good to be able to say g'day to you yesterday morning.

Ohhhh what have I got???? That was epic😊😂 Thanks for sharing your amazing videos, cheers🍺
Thank you! Cheers!
That's a calm day here on the Surf Coast of Vic 🙂
Must be pretty wild down there 😮
Another great video again you show us that with a little thought you can go fishing and catch a nice feed even when the weather is not great thanks Roger
Glad you enjoyed it
Rog, i just have to thank you mate. Thanks your "world's deadliest rig", I caught my first red snapper! 😁 Love your content!
I love fishing in that spot. There's some good gutters a bit further up the beach too!
Another awesome video Roger. I really love beach fishing now thanks to you. A guarantee catch every time I get out there.
Boas amigo Roger,eu quero continuar a ver os seus vídeos faça cuidado com a trovoada ✌️

Great video, very enjoyable , exiting and informative. It shows how expertise pays off . I can’t believe that he’s got to eat all that fish.
Thanks 👍
Your dedication to farming is truly inspiring.

Thankyou for another brilliant video Roger and for sharing your experience with us much appreciated 👍🎣
The darker bream are most likely from the darker water in the lake.
Yes, I’d say that would be the case
Great session - thanks Roger. Many a cold winter's morning I've waded across that mouth to get to the NH rocks at the northern end, hoping the water is shallow enough to not reach my belt line. Never seen it opened that deeply though. Hope there's a big bronze slab in your next video!

Great fishing and camera work, well done both.
Yes, Roger. We eat what we catch, just what we need and big enough.
Perfect 👌
You are a champ Rodger
Another awsome video Roger. Very entertaining to watch as always.
Thanks 👍
What a hot bite that session Roger. Tell you what that entrance looked prime for throwing some lures, cheers Niko 🤙🏻
Roger❤ you! nice fishing tips and tricks thanks
How do you distinguish between sea mullet (30cm size limit) and other species?
Hehe Sea mullet 30 cm you can see how long it is can't you?
Great session Roger!
Thank you uncle Roger
Wild and woolly sesh but the legend wins the day! Great feed Rog! 👍🏽🍻👑
Hey Rodger another awesome video, just wondering what size star sinker are you using in that wind?
Stormy on the west coast tonight so maybe tomorrow
Thanks Roger 🎣🐟
Great session roger,luv your work.
Saw you on vet show on 7 two with your dog Lucy and her ear problems. So pleased it worked out OK and your family can enjoy your lovely dog.
She’s a great dog, we have 2 of them
@Roger Osborne, U are on of the realest fisherman
What a spectacular day.
The best!

Great video Mate, I normally fish the same spot but watching you, I will now cover a larger area to test the waterers.

Hey Roger just wanna let you know that your videos help a lot because I also love beach fishing but it is also a hard time for me to catch fish

Cracker session old mate 🤙🎣🎣
Nice flathead👍🏻
Hlow I hav Sin At You , Tayp Of Sandales For Walking On Riff. Can you Saind The Link Please . Thenk you.
Love it 🤙
like tp know what rod you are using looks heavier than the shimano 4-7 kg rod you often use with worms.
Hi Roger, I also experienced some brown water recently.
It was after a night at an Indian restaurant.

“Just one more!” 🐠🐟
I want to know what Mic you are using, crystal clear and no wind noise? excellent!
Dear Roger Osborme , how many feet of the rod and what is the size of the reel . Thanks

Ever try to use a small float just above the baits to add action?
Hi Roger love your videos what pound leader to the hooks are you using thanks legend
In this video I was using 15lb leader
It would be a big help if you would tell us the hook sizes and sinker weights you are using on your videos
Hi rodger i e joy learning with you do you fish off bribie island ?
Hi Roger, my name Is Emily. Tell me,
how do you get the worms and are they found on all beaches? I'm from South africa
I dont know if anyone has said it but Could the bream be coming out of the river considering the colour of the bream.
I think that could be right
I think the legal size for flathead is between 36-70cm
Yes, this one was 66cm
hi,roger. please can you explain how a bite feels?? in surf conditions. i always battle totell if im getting a bite,or if im just picking up wave movement? its very disconcerting!! im sure im losing tonnes of fish!?
Bites are a lot more direct and erratic than a wave or current pulling on your line, big bites just pull really hard.
@@RogerOsborneFishing thank for your input.

Hi Roger, I am really enjoying your beach fishing. Just wondering if you throw burly out before you start filming
Almost never, but berleying is a very good idea
Your website says you use the Shimano Maikuro 10ft rod. Is that telescopic? Also you say Nasci C500. Is that C5000?? Bit confused! Thanks Roger!
Hi there, The rod is a two piece and is not telescopic. The Nasci is C5000

The females are all breeders from 30cm and up. The bigger ones just lay more eggs. Flathead breed up to 4 times per season
@@RogerOsborneFishing yeah i know mate, do what you like i just like releasing the bigger ones, great video though.
roger, may i ask if australia exports preserved worms to the world.
I don’t think so Robbie

I wonder if your tactics will work in Spain...
I'm sure that these tactics would work in most places.

Weather too bad to do a video this week?
Why keep a flathead that big, I will never understand🤦🤦
Because he wants to and they taste great
Why not. I would. Beautiful
I would too. Fantastic eating

Tell that to a commercial fisherman they take everything grubs.
Catching lots of weed at moment in Victorian beaches
The rough weather usually brings lots of weed in!
My dad always said "It helps to be uncomfortable to catch fish"
1 more cast ! 10 later 😂
Put your phone in a good ziplock bag. Cheaper than insurance
Yes, thanks
Nice flatly thanks for the video just shy of being a she :)
Take care
Thanks, you too!
Defintely a she at that size. I thought Roger would of released her.
I like your videos your good to watch but your not a teacher don't be such a know all yourvideos are good
