I had to add this conversion kit to my 66, as the previous owner, when adding the fog lights, just spliced them in with the headlights. That install was causing my headlight circuit breaker to constantly trip and the result was essentially no headlights. Install, with the help of the CJ Pony RUclips video was super straight forward and easy...perfecto my friends....perfecto!!!
Great video thank you. Question. Isn’t the wiring underneath the dash supposed to also connect to the instrument panel, or does hooking it up to taillights automatically make the instrument panel turn on? I have a true GT and it was messed with n I’d like to get it right. Thanks
Good video Bill. Only the circuit breaker doesn't need to be grounded there is no continuity between case and internals.. It can be tie wrapped to any place handy. I always wrap tape over the metal studs just in case a chance of touching a ground.
I have these secured to my 65 convertible but it’s a little loose. Meaning, you can easily move the light in the bracket. Only tension holds it centered. Is that normal? TIA
Did Some of Early - Mid Year 65's Have the Toggle Switch Below the Dash Panel?Looking @ One on Video Says Prod.Date of May- June of 65 ,Don' t See it on Panel
Yes. The toggle switch below the dash (There is even a factory hole for it, but the factory never used it..but Dealers did.)..were Dealer Installed). The cars with the switch and hole to the Left on the Dash were Factory installed. Bill, In this video chose to mount the Fog Light Switch in the Factory Installed location. The hole for the "Dealer installed location" is already pre-stamped into the Dash right under the dash on the Left Side.
Did you call that a 'circuit breaker'? I thought that was a relay-solenoid that switches power to the fog lamps. A relay is usually used to switch on high amperage lamps. With out that 'relay', the fog lamp-switch would arc and prob burn up in a short time.⌛
Why do you all call those fog lights? They are additional lights, not fog lights. If you drive in the fog and turn those on, you will blind yourself. Fog lights need to be close to the ground to illuminate the road ahead and not the fog/humidity particles in the air that will blind you....

Fantastic video. I particularly appreciate the "tools you need" at the beginning. Great!

why don't you do a 67

What a great upgrade. I wonder why so many mustangs have crooked fog lights.
While the grill is out its a good time to clean and repaint the radiator support. There is rust and over spray all over that area.
Excellent video! Very well done!
what size drill bit is used to drill the switch hole in the dash?
1/2 inch
Thanks Bill.
I’ve got a 67 I’m thinking of doing this to. Is it a very similar process as it is with the model in this video?
you are so good!this video is help me so much!
thank you!
Why won’t the light casing close flush when you insert the bulb?

It should be a little tighter
Hey bill I just bought some wire harness straps for my 66 and I was wondering if there's a specific tool to close them and put them into place
i wish you were my neighbor youre awesome bill
I don't know about that, I make a lot of noise on my cars at night lol
is there a possibility of sticking another set of halos in there?

I going to do this on a 66. Does it matter what grille you have?
0:36 answer it for ya good sir.
I actually had the same question until I heard that.
@@DodgerBluetC thank you I missed that part but I’m still not sure because the kit I found does not come with a grille
@@DodgerBluetC never mind I looked again and found a kit with a grille but it does not come with wires but I can probably make it work
Do you have Led fog lights
Does this work for a 67?
Sorry this is 65-66 only.
Its been 11 years and you still dont have a video for the 67 mustang.
Looks cool! Wow🤔🙄😎👓

No me an llegado mis piezas ya más de un mes
Thought fog lights had to be yellow

The grill is like 18 inches above the road
You can use the Amber Bulbs instead of the clear and they will be "True" Fog Lights. Also, That is what Ford called them...lol...
Not really FOG LIGHTS, just called that. FOG LIGHT ARE NOT CLEAR BULBS, But Yellowish-AMBER COLOR.
