Picard reminds what past true Starfleet Officers believe, that many forgotten now, what really is being a Starfleet Officer, Guardian, Explorer, and Peacekeeper. Admiral Katrina Cornwell said about Captain Pike which should be all Starfleet Officers should be, "You sat out the war because if we'd lost to the Klingons, we wanted the best of Starfleet to survive. And as this conversation makes clear, that was you and all you represent."
I appreciate the sentiment. And as someone who has been a keen fan of Star Trek since the late 1970's - I am pleased to have stepped on the NCC 1701 and the NCC 1701A with the original crew. And delighted, although not without some trepidation - to have set foot on the NCC 1701D as well. " To have boldly gone where no man, no one has gone before!" It was a great pleasure to see much of Season 3 of Picard. Except where Q nicked my thunder of that poem recited in the Shuttle bay 2 of the Enterprise D. Which Data tried to mischievously replicate.. And so did I - for that matter! Until that omnipotent pillock stopped me from doing so! I sincerely hope that the TNG crew - yes, I do include Wil Wheaton in this instance! - have a good laugh at my ire towards Q. Stopping me from recitation of that limerick in the Enterprise D shuttle bay almost 40 years ago!

I will always Love ALL of you.❤
This is what you get when you put someone in charge of your Trek show who actually cares about the franchise
It's probably better in the original Klingon...!! 🤪
