You should try the gourmet burgers from Burger Fuel as they have plenty of franchise outlets in major cities across NZ. Also, make sure to try Fergburger when you're in Queenstown as they are known as one of the best burger joints in the world. The line to enter the restaurant has always been long and the place always packed with tourists. Hope this helps with your food adventure!
Hey just an easy tip that'll greatly help your Māori pronunciation: if you see a macron over a vowel, it means the vowel is long so you hold it out for twice the length. It often ends up sounding much like if the syllable were stressed, so HA-pu-ku for Hāpuku, and KU-ma-ra for kūmara. Us kiwis are quite used to people having difficulty with pronunciation (even many other kiwis), but what makes it really hard to understand is when the syllable timing is off, like if you say ku-MA-ra. ❤️
Yes but it depends on how old you are! The older you are the prettier it is :). In your twenties , it is boring. So you go to Europe for a few years then return as you miss the beauty so much :)
those fish & chips look so delicious, less batter is better, then you can really taste the fish meat itself rather than the batter hehe.. the mermaid pool is so beautiful😉
Another EPIC video!! :-) The Fish & Chips looked amazing! When your in Oz, Shark is on the menu here to as "Flake". But try "Barramundi" - when fresh its amazing!! Looking forward to the next video!!
I love your travel videos, haven't missed one in the last two months. But I think it's time for you to buy reusable coffee mugs, there are even foldable ones on the market.
Love how you guys edit videos and how you choose which moments to film. You guys are tottally artistic, hence its so interesting to watch you. Is one one of you maybe a professional in film making or photography? Because its admirable your vlogs , how you film them and present :)
Hey Brigita, thanks for the lovely comment! It's great to hear that because sometimes we feel like we don't know what the heck we're doing 😅 Neither of us are professionals though I have dabbled in filming / photography for a while, which helped. But mostly we've just learned a lot after 3 years of doing it nonstop 😂
LOL Josh and Ashley always end their meals long before you, I feel like you guys should just go for the food and do the comments after, I do love your comments and info but I am always wondering if it is getting cold LOL
Yeah they must spend a really long time because I’ve heard them talk before about the food getting cold by the time they get around to properly eating the rest of it
Looks amazing so pretty the scenery got to love it an they drive on the right side of the road an they even have sarsons vinegar for the fish an chips got to love that British influence 👍
We stopped in at that fish and chip shop a few years ago on the drive back to Paihia from Cape Reinga just as the sun was setting. It was really nice food and the view over the water was beautiful
I loved New Zealand - the North Island has so many residual English customs and foods! NZ has so many amazing herding dogs and about 25-30 sheep per person!
I used to live in The Lake district near Glenridding, which I know you've visited in the past and now I live in Matakana which is 1 hour North of Auckland and here you are! Fish in NZ is very good, especially Gurnard, but they use frozen chips. Best fish and chips I ever had was from Whitby in Yorkshire.
I have always been very fond of shark. I also like swordfish. Unfortunately I belong to a species of omnivores and although I don't eat fish or meat daily, I do eat from the group that includes meet foul and fish around four times a week. I love to eat and see what people eat, normally in various places. Part of the charm of your channel is the fact that it is a travel/food combination.
When we were in New Zealand we had a lot of Hoki and Elephant fish - they love their fish names there. When you head back down to Auckland, there's a fish and chip shop on Mangere bridge near the old bridge. You have to try their lemon pepper fish!!
You should go to Rotorua and try to go to: 1. The Skyline Rotorua Luge 2. The Redwoods in the Whakarewarewa Forest 3. Te Puia Geothermal Park These are just suggestions but feel free to try them!
Fun fact the hill that you guys went up was actually the same hill my aunty went to. To take photo from her wedding. But it is so much different now compared to when they went because you could drive near the top of the hill but now they blocked off so you have to walk from the bottom
I wonder if its difficult to change from driving with the drivers seat on the right side of the vehicle as opposed to being used to driving with it on the left side, it looks awkward.
Fun travels! Just check out a couple of youtube vids on pronouncing vowels in Maori on youtube. Think of the sound of the 'ng' in 'singer'. It's far easier than English as there are fewer letters to deal with and they are authentic and consistent in their sound as opposed to English. I dare you to show a lot of us New Zealanders up and pronounce Maori words better than a lot of us do! That would be the best video!
It's actually really tough! Especially considering our videos are usually ~4GB 😅 But even on a bad connection, we can usually leave it over night and get it up. But definitely asking your Airbnb host ahead of time helps (when we remember to do that 😂)
Your music is one of the underappreciated parts of your videos. I have to admit that when I first started watching these, I thought the music would be driving me insane, but no, it has really grown on me over time. Where do you get it? From the links, it looks like someone else created the music. Do you edit it? I know you have a musical background. It is fun to pick out the underlying songs, like the Louis Armstrong from some time back.
😂 Kumara cute trying to pronounce! man I’ve taken for granted our wicked little vegetable, a staple in our household. kumara chips are the bomb! Burger fuel also does good kumara chips
We just had to delete some scenes we shot in a restaurant in La Paz in Bolivia because the audio was so bad. But to be fair. We had forgotten our mic :-)
Are you still up North at this point (3pm 07/02/19). When are you heading back down? I commented the other day but you still need to stop at my restaurant on your way back down, i have a great range of local beers and decent food haha.

Cod, , Haddock and Plaice rule.
Amazing video...Are you coming back to the Philippines? I heard you only had a few episodes there...can't wait for your return..
Delicious Hapuka fish that u would have tried.
You should try the gourmet burgers from Burger Fuel as they have plenty of franchise outlets in major cities across NZ. @@SuiGenerisAbbie when I buy fish and chips here in NZ I ask for how many pieces of fish I want
Totally off subject, but Allison your hair is so beautiful when you let it go naturally curly! Also great video, thanks!

Your spot on bro. Te Reo is actually not hard to learn if you know that key rule.
Could also be the roll the r not helping for some reason kumara seems to be a word kiwi pakeha can roll the r on but idk
@D D yh ur right there its technically mah oh re or something like that not moldy bread lol
Most people get lazy tho and say is Ku-mra instead of Ku-MA-ra
OMG, who eats fish n chips with a fork??? Just pick that fish up in ya hands, true Kiwi style!!
ian clark any civilised being used a fork 😂
@@Prettyredflames I'm sorry but no. Only sociopaths eat fish & chips with a fork
Eating fish n chips with a fork? 'Spat'
*DISGRACEFUL*
I'm craving fish and chips now. Great video, the mermaid pool was beautiful.
Thanks Rebecca! The pools were awesome, definitely glad we made the trek over the hill to see them 😄
Wow, New Zealand is such a wonderful country, isn't it? 😉
Yes but it depends on how old you are! The older you are the prettier it is :). In your twenties , it is boring. So you go to Europe for a few years then return as you miss the beauty so much :)

Another great video as usual guys. I can't wait to see the rest of yuall adventures ❤

I loved New Zealand - the North Island has so many residual English customs and foods! NZ has so many amazing herding dogs and about 25-30 sheep per person!
They actually only have 5 or 6 sheep per person, plus 2 cattle per person.
hi there new Zealand is as green as England beautiful place you're so lucky getting to visit these beautiful countries.
Was definitely the best fish and chips we'd ever had. We stayed relatively near so not much of a trek, but however far you drive it's so worth it
New Zealand is my dream country to go to...it looks amazing!
Awesome scenery and food!!! I'm glad you'll had a good time! :)
So so beautiful...unihabitated, not so populated...looks awesome an fun
If you get the chance, try battered Blue Cod (more likely to get this in the South Island), you won't regret it. Welcome to NZ guys!
They have it in Auckland waters as well, which i didn't know at first, best fish on the planet, even better than Haddock.
I used to live in The Lake district near Glenridding, which I know you've visited in the past and now I live in Matakana which is 1 hour North of Auckland and here you are! Omg just found your channel and realised that you were in my home town of Mangonui. I love the fish and chips there ❤️
You should try watching a rugby match. And looking into Māori history and culture.
Okay, every time you guys do a food vlog, I have to go and get a snack afterwards!! Darn you!! 🤤🤤🤤
Awesome guys. I'm a kiwi from up those ways. Great to see it from your perspective.

He is so tired and fell sleep in the taxi :))))) how was his reaction when he saw the video???
Let me guess, before it begins, Eric will describe some sort of food as "creamy". I think I'll start a "Creamy" counter.
Eric: 1 food tried, 1 "creamy"
It’s better than when he used to describe everything as gooey. 😂 Lol love this channel though
This comment is extra creamy 👌😸

Wowwww NZ!! 😍😍😍😍😍
Wow! another epic hike up the side of a mountain! 😂 Mermaid pools looked wonderful but not as good as those fish and chips.
*sigh* Such a stunning place, hope I make it there one day.
I saw the Shire off in the distant rolling hills! 🤣

our order has been placed...... ha ha hillarious withour even knowing it🖒🖒🖒🖒.
Yes that place is really good. Right up there. I also rate the Mt Vic Chippery in Wellington as a gr8 chip shop.
Great video. I particularly liked the drone shots und the slomos. How did you manage to get good audio in the restaurant?
Glad you thought the audio was okay! We had to do a bit of noise reduction to clean it up 👍
We just had to delete some scenes we shot in a restaurant in La Paz in Bolivia because the audio was so bad. But to be fair. We had forgotten our mic :-)
From what I've had on holiday that chippy in Mevaguissey You went to is pretty amazing ( Haddock is My choice)
OMG my hometown
in australia, in particular the state of victoria, thats called, flake and chips.
Mermaid pool 😍.. sadly no one can swim in it no more 😔
watching a video where people eat fish and chips in the middle of the night during lockdown was a bad idea lmao
My cousin and uncle works at that fish and chips shop. My uncle is the one that cuts the fish
Most fish and chip shops in nz sell shark or "lemonfish" as fish but u can get other types
NZ hapuka = groper everywhere else
Thomas fish n chips in Kaikohe are the best
yeah okay.... great video when you are not allowed to eat for 24 hours ahahhaha. But still watching because I love your video!
You guys are cute looking shark eating couple! 😮
