I say put few gps on cars, trucks rental you could careless if car comes back go for broke. I'd start with nice older truck with long bed single cab white. Rent it out at price just snap picture drivers license or picture I'd let them use it. Put under your name and insurance just liability. Full coverage won't pay if person not on policy.

You must be Licensed Rental Agency, your cars must be registered to Your Rental LLC, then yes, you write all expenses associated to your business as bussenes expenses, also you will have the Sales Tax exemption (sales tax free) to be able purchasing cars for your Rentals operations.

So in my instance, I am living in NY where a private rental car business isn't financially viable because of the insurance costs. would you recommend starting an LLC in another state where I have connections (Florida for instance) and running the business remotley with a partner ? Or starting the business in a nearby state like PA or CT so I am within close proximity to my vehicles ?
I have a few clients that live in New York but their rental car business is in a different state I have one friend that lives in New York but all of his cars are here in Vegas and he rents them out through Touro online so he doesn’t physically have to be in the state to rent cars

Should I rent without down payments.
This is exactly what I’m going to do with my Tesla Model 3 2021, i applied for the grant which is like $5k towards the downpayment and then an additional $4k in rebates (so $9k in free money) and im putting about an additional $5k of my own money into to get a super low payment(i have great credit) so the payment is like $350-$380. And renting the car out for like 2-3 days a month would pay for the payment. I’m think maybe 2 weekends out of the month so i can pay it off in like 1-2 years.

I still got the $1.5k however and I’m applying for the $2.5k rebate (hoping there’s still funds) anyways. Yeah that the update. Apply now if you still can. I love the car

Unfortunately we have a neighbor across our residential street in LA that is renting and running a car rental business. It's infuriating a lot of us that have been living here forever and are home owners. The amount of cards that he is parking, with people coming through, thus creating traffic in what was once a peaceful residential street. There has to be a way for this individual to park these cars. It's just too much.
? If a customer stays with the car renting it and pays it off, Can the customer have the option to keep it with a big payment at the end of the rental contract
Depending on your state you can do kind of like a rent to own but that’s why I tell most people when you start a rental car company open up a dealership so if they continually rent it for a long time you can give them the option of rent to own. But most people we deal with they’d rather pay $1000-$1500 a month and never on the car and we’ve had some people in the car for over a year lol

You could be the first to market. I would try it. if not pick a city or state. close by. are you in NY?

Are you doing new cars or used cars? What price range are you investing in the cars?
Always check your vehicles if you have anything under $10,000 I use one GPS anything above I use to GPS is gold star is what we use. Yes we have an actual commercial rental car policy but if you’re renting on Touro you don’t need that and I definitely recommend used vehicles I never recommend new because the massive depreciation you’re going to take when people start driving your cars and for price range it really depends on your area I’ve had cars that I bought him for $6000 that are rented every day and I have gotten cars that are $45,000 that also rent every day so it really just depends on what you feel comfortable with

I don't understand why people care about the mileage if it runs good it's fine , if you know how to work with cars you will be fine, just don't be a dumbass and buy a new car off the dealership because they're just selling you maintenance ( just my opinion)
